I can only say I will never do it again :sad2: . I have had better cakes from Winn Dixie. I spent the $25.00+tax+tip and we took 2 bites of the cake and threw it away :sad1:. I am not sure which bakery it came from as it was not baked at The Plaza because it was printed on the box for it to be delivered there. I hope this helps. I hate for my bad experience to sour anyone else on trying something they want.

That is just what I'm thinking. What if it is horrible and I feel really guilty for spending that money on a nasty cake. That is just so expensive for a 6 in cake. I mean I know Disney is expensive and I am fine with that because I love Disney but the more I think of that cake and the bad reports on here, the more I feel like canceling the order. Boma has great dessert so we'll just enjoy that instead. :thumbsup2

Do many people order cake for breakfast? We are eating at Ohanas for Fathers day, I want to order a small cake for us for my hubby. Is 8 inch the smallest that they can write Happy Fathers Day Daddy?

Cake is good any time! I really wanted the mini castle cake for my dd's and my birthday celebration and the only place to get one is GF. So the only ressie I could squeeze in was breakfast at the GF Cafe. Therefore...cake for breakfast.:goodvibes

Did i read this right, that only GF does the small white Castle Cake?? Im looking for some sort of a surprise for DBF and I thought maybe this small cake would be just the right fit! But we are staying at All Star Music... So would i have to have it delievered to a resturant or do they even do this?? Thanks everyone!! :flower3:

The castle cake is only at the GF. You can schedule a meal at any of their TS restaurants and have it delivered to the meal. (it is a really cute cake!)

Many, Many years ago they allowed pick-up but that is no longer possible. :(

Anyone got any Minnie Mouse cake pictures. I want something very fun for DS 2nd birthday. Also, we are having dinner at LTT where do I order the cake from?

To finish off the day, we had ordered one of the tiny Cinderella Castle cakes (from Grand Floridian bakery) and a plate of tuxedo strawberries to be delivered to our room at the Poly. We knew that we wouldn't be able to eat a whole regular cake, so the tiny cake was perfect and the bakery did a stunning job with it. It was chocolate cake with a white chocolate mousse between the layers and then white icing with a white chocolate castle. They placed a thin white sheet of parchment in front of it that looked like a scroll and wrote Happy Birthday in beautiful chocolate script.
So buying the tiny but impressive looking castle cake for $25 turned out to be a great alternative.

I am trying to order this cake. Not sure if the picture came in with this message or not......but it is the mini castle cake. We have dinner reservations at Kona on May 28th and I want to have this for both of my DDS's birthdays. The woman I spoke with through the cake hotline at the Kona restaurant said she would have to speak with the GF bakery....which they were on lunch break and I will have to call back at 3pm Florida time to see if they can even do that. She tried 2 times to push the standard cake....the ones everyone says are the frozen ones. Sigh...
Wish me luck for when I call back. Any suggestions on what else I could order with the castle or even Cinderella in general? I don't want to fork out $50 for a cake though.

I'm very disappointed....I wanted to order a cake for DH and I for our 20th anniversary dinner at Ohana's, and lets just say the lady who answered the phone was less than magical...:confused3 In fact she was down right short, rude and to the point. I wound up not ordering and think I will pass on it now.

I got a flat out NO when I asked if this could be delivered to Ohana's.

I just canceled the cake order. Hopefully they'll have some yummy desserts on the buffet that night. :cool1:

Does anyone have a recent photo of the 2 layer 3 inch "special occasion" cake that you can get at the GF restaurants for $25? I ordered one, chocolate w buttercream icing and I want to make sure it's what I am expecting. If not I want to cancel the order. They did try and push the standard cake. Yuck

I called Ohanas this AM about a cake for breakfast, and she was less than magical to me too. I still may order, because i want to have something for Fathers day, but I was not impressed.

Ok, until this week I hadn't seen anything about the cakes not being yummy. I just ordered the GF white cake with chocolate mousse filling for DD's b'day -- did I make a mistake? Should I get the larger cake customized and carry it around with us? I rather spend money on an amazing cake than less on a "yucky" one.

Here are 4 links to places recommended on here. It is more about what you are looking for because they all come highly recommended.

Disney florist is unique because they are the only ones who can include food products in the baskets. I am working with them now and very impressed with their helpfulness.

Peggy is great, she is a regular here on the DisBoards and makes fully custom baskets if needed, she is praised by all who use her service.

Betsy also makes fully custom baskets and gets great comments from all who have used her service:

Gifts of a lifetime does not do baskets, but they do so much more. It is fun to look and dream at least!

Is Disney florist no longer in business? I went to the link and it's not there.

Thanks

is that two-layer, mini castle cake (page 227, post 3398) still $25?!

i would think it would be more, with 2 layers - whatever it is, i'm thinking of upgrading to this two-layer version myself in december!
