Please point me in the right direction. I would like to order a small thirty-fourth anniversary cake to feed just four of us for presentation at LeCellier and a Buzz Lightyear Cake for four at the Plaza. Who do I call? What options do I have? I read the thread and just get more confused - need I say I am a male trying to please two women?:rotfl2:

Small and Buzz Lightyear are not likely to happen on the same cake. The 6 inch cake is the small one but they won't customize it. The 8" can have a printed design but it is probably too big for 4 people (unless they are all teenage boys.)
But, here's an idea. If you only want the small cake, and want a character on it, buy a small character toy and have the restaurant put it on the 6 inch cake. Then you have buzz and a small cake.
Try a grocery store bakery for character cake add ons or look in the toy dept at someplace like Wal-Mart and buy an actual small toy.
Just a thought.

Or call the cake hotline listed on page 1 of this faq and order the 8" with the printed pictures. Those are cute too.

Hope that helps a little. :) Sheli

At least you are making the effort. If I didn't handle all trip arrangements, we would be sleeping in our car in a parking lot and rinsing off in the Mickey D's bathroom every day! :goodvibes

Good luck with your planning!

can anyone tell me what a standard cake is like when you order it at the restaurant? I am trying to decide on if I should order one special or just the standard cake. It is our 15th wedding anniv. Thanks!

The standard cake is pretty yucky and can be frozen still and it also cannot be decorated.. I would go with the thrills and frills and purchase one...JMO:confused3

I agree with the other poster that said its pretty yucky - or my experience - I ordered one for LTT (and posted somewhere in the beginning of this thread!!)

and it was a prefrozen cake - because we had the cake, they didnt let us have their dessert!! and the icing was falling off, and the cake was very bland...

FF to our Crystal Palace - I ordered the (8"??? or was it a 10? I wanted the chocolate chocolate and picked Hannah Montana - WELL WORTH IT!! I take ziplock bags, so when we are back at the resort, I can cover the cut part, and I also bring plates and forks, but you could get those from the resort food courts)

I just posted the chocolate chocolate cake - I know I have an anniversary cake somewhere - the one you just get the frozen one has only one layer, and this larger cake just tastes special!!

This cake looks great and looks like it tastes great too. So it was the chocolate, chocolate from CP?

Glad you found this thread!! I was looking for an anniversary cake picture, and it looks like a few people posted pictures!! (above your original post had a floral design and a rasberry filled one - that poster reccommended vanilla buttercream instead of the chocolate!! Go for it!!)

I think you'll have a wonderful, magical vacation!! :wizard:

I just tried to order a birthday cake through the hotline for Coral Reef and got an answering machine.. I'm not in the US so they can't call me back (can they??). Now what ? :confused3

I sent you a PM - when you leave a message make sure you leave your email number and your ressie number - I think they will get in touch with you!! :wizard:

Thanks, I was wondering what I would do with it. I know I have read that some restaurants have held cakes for people. Anybody have any luck with CRT doing so? I would hate to discard it as I know that we will have a lot left and will be staying overnight offsite that night on our way home. Leftovers would make a great breakfast the next day! If it's a warm day, I don't think it would last very long, as we plan on staying at MK until early/late afternoon. Since we'll be leaving, we won't be able to take it back to the hotel. I'm sure it will be hot, so our only option will be either throwing it away (which I won't do) or having CRT hold it. If they can't hold it, I'll have to come up with another idea for when to have the cake. Thanks again

We had our anniversary cake held for us at CRT - and another year the Crystal Palace held DD hannah cake (pictured above!)

Here it is. Sorry it's big.

Some restaurants are more limited on what they can do. The best cakes are at the GF as they have an amazing private bakery for their weddings and guests but they are only for guests staying there or eating in their resort.

The resorts around the Boardwalk Bakery get their cakes from there so they are pretty nice too.

You would just call the cake hotline and see what they can do for you.

The mini castle cake is only available at the GF and the castle is white chocolate. It's $25.

The white chocolate Cinderella Slipper is only available at the GF or CRT in MK. It's filled with mousse. It's about $14.

Thought I'd bring this info forward! DD loved the slipper dessert much better than the castle cake btw - we had it at the Grand Floridian Tea

Ok I tried to figure this all out but this thread is huge. So ...I am going to add to it and make it longer.
Question.....if I want a 6in speciality cake can I pick it up at GF if I am not dining there or staying there? We are staying in Poly and it sure would be easier to pick it up at GF instead of BW.

You cannot pick up a cake at the GF. Call the cake hotline and find the option for the Poly and they will be able to make arrangements for you to have one at your resort.

I believe this was the 8" cake for $25 (listings are on page one of this thread) It could've been the 10" tho, I just talked to the CM - I knew I wanted a cake with chocolate chocolate and a picture on it - when we got to CP - it was noted in our ressies, I didnt have to say anything, our table was dusted with confetti, and the waitress knew we had the cake coming -they had candles and she lit them for us! (I didnt request it, and now that I think on it, not sure if I've seen candles on other peoples cakes!)

I called the main Cake Hotline number - and the CM was very friendly and helpful! DD wanted a chocolate chocolate cake... and I didnt want one that is readily available at the Crystal Palace -

Note that the Hannah picture is easily done now with computers printers and edible paper - so just talk and ask the CM for help!!

I ordered it last year probably about a month before we went to Disney (it was during the free dining!)

I make ressies at either Grand Floridian's high tea or 1900 Park Fare to order a slipper dessert... (like the others posted, you cant pick up at GF - you must have a ressie at one of their restaruants)

We ordered a birthday cake on the cake hotline for Le Cellier on Oct 18th. Worked perfectly and was exactly as ordered.

LindasCake.jpg

Waitress whipped it away before I had chance to get a good shot. But managed a good one when it was sliced and brought out to eat:

LindasCake-Slice.jpg

We had more than a few envious looks from other tables, and for good reason! It was by far the best cake I'd ever eaten. Chocolate cake with dark chocolate mousse, anything but bitter though. Incredibly rich and moist, none of us finished our slice. We took the remainder of it back to our villa, I had a slice for breakfast another day but sadly as we were so over stuffed from dining plan meals, we never finished it.

Can't remember the price I was given on the phone and someone else in the party picked up the tab so I can't give an accurate price.

Thought I'd move this one forward as it was delivered to LeCellier...
