I am planning things for our trip in December and I thought maybe we could celebrate DD's birthday while we are there. Her birthday will be 3 weeks from the day we leave.

I would love to do a custom cake for her with the High School Musical theme. Does anyone know if this is possible? I am not sure where we will be eating at but having it at the room would be an option as well. We are staying at CBR.

Thanks for the info on the cake from POR. We are staying there in Aug and celebrating three birthdays. We are taking our three nieces for their first Disney trip ever and celebrating their birthdays. I would love to get a cake delivered to our room or I can pick it up for a surprise for the girls. Any suggestions on flavor of cake, decorations or icing? There will be 10 in our party. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you get cakes deliveried to your room? I would like to get my DBF a small cake to thank him for the trip. I have seen the cake thread but still wasnt sure how i can get one to the room to surprise him...or is there anything else i can do(something kinda cheap)...also i emailed the disney cake order place..the emial address that was on the first post. but anyway can you order a cake that way, and how long does it take for them to respone, i emailed on friday and still never heard anything back

Will the boardwalk bakery put a white chocolate castle on a customized cake?

Don't know but my guess would be no as those are made exclusively at the GF but I would just go to post #1 and get the Boardwalk Bakery number and call them and ask! :thumbsup2

Don't feel too bad about not getting the mini castle, it was another disappointment. As you can see in the photo, it sorta looks like it had started to melt at some point. I had ordered a yellow cake with white icing, with the mini-castle and LOTS of icing flowers on it. I wanted it to be special for my friend's 50th birthday. I called a week in advance and got bounced around because Linda wasn't available but I was told I HAD to talk to her, and her ONLY. When I finally reached her, she kinda gave me the bum's rush. Anyway, in the positive column, my friend said it was very tasty (I couldn't bring myself to eat it), it was inexpensive ($28), and I got to use our DDE card so I saved 20%. Our server brought it on a Royal Doulton plate which helped to dress it up -- too bad we couldn't keep the china! We'll be back at the GF for DH's birthday this fall and I'm not looking forward to dealing with the cake issue again.

I would like to order this cake or the one with the Mickey to be delivered during our May 28th evening meal at Kona. Is that possible? Or would it just be easier for me to order it at the GF and pick it up myself and take it with us to the Kona that night? I have tried to search through the threads on here but my it is a long one.

I don't think you can pick up a cake at GF. You have to either eat at a restaurant at GF or be a guest there. I think the only place you can pick a cake up at is Boardwalk Bakery.

We are going to the Poly Sept/Oct & I thinking about getting 2 cakes. I would like some info from those who have order cakes from the Poly. I know that on the first cake I would like is a cake for the whole family I would like to be Polynesian/Hawiian Theme. I would like it to say "Let the Magical Begin" or something along this line. I would like to be delivered to the room while we are at the Luau. Do I have to get a 8in or 10in to have it decorated. What are the options for cake, filling, & icing. I really want to have whip cream icing. The second cake will be for celebrating my 30th B-Day at WDW 2 days before we leave. What are the choices for the 6in. Will I be able to have Happy Birthday on it. I would like it deliver to the room too. Can I pay for it when I order it. How far out do you order them? Does anyone have any photos to ones that they have gotten from the Poly? I would love to see them. Thanks for the help!

I'm also thinking about getting a cake at the Poly for our birthday trip in August, probably at O'hana after dinner and then another at Chefs de France also for dinner. I've seen the cute cakes the Poly offers. Does anyone have any pics of the ones from Chefs??? I'd appreciate any help.:)

We are celebrating our 7th anniversary at CRT. Last year I ordered the Cinderella Slipper Dessert and we loved it, but I would like to do something different. My problem this year is that our reservation on an EMH night. I don't know what I would do with the left over cake. We are staying at POP and I know they wont deliver anything. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would like to do something special but I don't want to spend too much money. Thanks in advance!

I'm staying at Pop Century in May and my son's birthday will be 3 days after we return...I want to celebrate in Disney, and have been told that there is a lot of "perks" to having your birthday celebrated in the parks:) ...But as far as a cake :confused3 goes I'm clueless.

I read the first few pages of this thread and they are all such lovely cakes! I don't want to spend a ton of money though...We are eating at Sci-Fi, Teppan Edo, 50's Prime-Time, Chef Mickey's and Chefs de France...Any suggestions on which one has better cakes? I don't want one that simply says Happy 9th Birthday, I'm looking for something magical:goodvibes

Chef Mickey's has the Mickey head cake. That is a really cute cake, and as far as I know, it's only available there, but there is tiny version at Boardwalk Bakery.

As for the other restaurants, only limited restaurants have "their" cakes. AKL has the Zebra Cake, and CRT has the slipper dessert, and GF has the Castle. Otherwise, you can pretty much get anything you want at any of the restaurants. Size of the cake will determine what flavors are available, but it can vary by each restaurant. The best thing to do would be to call the restaurant you are staying at, and talk to them, see what they say.

MOST of the time, in order to get the cake personalized, it has to be 10". There are standard 6" cakes available for $12.50, with no advance notice. There are a few people who have managed to get an 8" personalized, but that seems to be the exception rather than the norm. You can do an edible image of a favorite character or movie, or you can do a saying with flowers and icing decorations. The more elabroate you get, the more expensive it is.

Good luck with your decisions!! Post what you want, how you ordered it, and of course, pictures of the final product!

Jennifer

You can get a cake at Pop. It is the simple $13 one, but if you call the cake hotline on page 1 and follow the prompts for Pop you can order one. As I understand it, it won't be delievered to the room, but you can pick it up at the food court. We are doing this for DS's bday next month rather than at a park restaurant so I don't have to worry about the leftovers...

how early I should order a cake for the end of June? I would like a customized cake, but there are only 4 of us....I guess I have to get an 8" to get his name on it?? I don't want a ton of leftovers!!

We are eating at the WCC for my son's tenth bday, and I would like to order one as soon as I can...one more thing out of the way! ;)

Also, does anyone have suggestions for cakes available at the WCC? Thanks so much!

I wouldn't order any earlier than a month out, and I'd confirm about 3 days before you leave.

I ordered a cake for a good friend who is going to be there on June 9th - I used the cake hot line and spoke to the nicest lady at Wilderness Lodge who takes orders for the WCC and Artist Pointe. For WCC you can either get a 6" not personalized or a 10" for personalized...that's what I went with and it was $40. You could choose white, chocolate or marble cake, vanilla, chocolate or I think fruit "filling" between layers and either white buttercream, chocolate buttercream or whipped icing.

I think as long as you order no later than 2 weeks you'd be fine, I always order way before hand but that's just me :)

Have a great trip!

That was what I ordered my FIL last October for his birthday. It was a 10" marble with buttercream icing (I think) and it was incredibly good!!! There were four adults and two kids under the age of 6 and my MIL still took a half a cake back to her camper. It was really tasty.
