Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread

I just tried to order a birthday cake through the hotline for Coral Reef and got an answering machine.. I'm not in the US so they can't call me back (can they??). Now what ? :confused3

We will be arriving at POR 4/10 and I thought it would be nice to have a cake sent to the room the evening we checked in for my high school graduate son. I tried calling POR and was told to ask for the ffod/beverage office and they could help. After talking with them they said they would fill out the order sheet and fax it to the place where all the orders go to? She said they couldn't put an inscription on a cake that was less than 10 inches according to the sheet. I said I thought I had seen several cakes 8 inches that had inscriptions on this message board and wanted to speak to someone directly. She said to call the cake hotline. All you get is prompts to pick from which sound like for restraunt orders only. So I picked the prompt for BoatWrights at POR and all I get is a voice message for Richard or Mike who are not available but please leave a message. AGHH!!! I'd like to get this ordered so we don't have any delays. I am wondering if anyone will really return my call. I did leave 1 message. Any other ideas as to how I can get to speak to a "LIVE" person!! :confused3

After going through over 60+ pages, I found it in post #827. Does anyone know if I can get this at Crystal Palace. I would love to get it to celebrate my DD's 2nd B-day party:

That Minnie cake is adorable. It is my favorite so far.:goodvibes Where did it come from?

No, only a seperate listing for each, similar to the food porn thread. I'm thinking listing the location w/ cake, filling, & icing options, then including links to the pics of the cakes purchased there.

To clarify, I was thinking along the lines of this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1601839. I think it would be great to add the cake, filling, & icing options, along with the appropriate phone number below the location, then post the links.

Angie - glad you like the looks of it! We substituted yellow cake inside since we were a bit afraid of a chocolate overload for our guests. But with the fresh strawberry filling (and it was 3 layers) it all balanced out perfectly. :thumbsup2

I did receive a call back from POR after leaving a message and was told that I could order :cake: but would have to pick it up at Boatwrights. I know they will not leave anything in the room before you check-in. Maybe you can order the cake then ask the front desk about delivery. Be prepared to spend $50 + for delivery to room - at least that's what I've read on some of these posts. Try calling again.
Good luck and Congrats to your son! :pixiedust:

Just got this at the Coral Reef for my DH's 30th birthday. :) Thought it was super cute and tasty too. It was $12.50.

That cake looks so yummy! I`ve ordered a 6" Vanilla with Vanilla Buttercream cake for my Sisters Graduation. Is this similar to what you`ve ordered? Aside from the obvious difference that yours is a b-day cake and mine will be a grad cake.....

This is the cutest cake ever!! We'll be celebrating a birthday at Coral Reef too and I hope we can get something like that.

Just another quick question for you guys.....

It`s just going to be me and my sister eating this cake after a huge buffet dinner. Are we able to ask the CM to "wrap it up" and then we can take it back to our room?

Anyone done this before?

Thanks for the info. I did get a call back from Chef Ernesto for the POR and POFQ who said he could assist me in my cake order but I was not home to get his message so I left him a vm. Glad he called back. I will be sure and ask about the delivery cost and if it's too much I'll just run over and get it. (We will have a rental car). :) Thank you again!!

Yes, that is what I ordered too! :) I didn't ask for anything in particular with the decorations - just told them to go to town and that's what we got. I was really happy with it! You'll have to post the cake you end up getting.

Was there ever any consensus on cakes at Pop??

As I am taking it now, call the cake line, follow the prompts to get to Pop, leave a message, someone calls back, I make my order with a CC and pick it up at the food court...right?

I had no idea what this cake was going to look like. All the CM said was that it will have my message on it and then for Graduation she said they'd put scrolls and caps etc on it. I'll be sure to put the photos on here!

On the first post it states that Chefs de France has only one cake that they supply. Chocolate Mousse I believe. Is this still true of this restaurant? Has anyone had one or know anything different? If this is all they have and can they decorate or write on it? Thanks in advance for your help.
