I am going for DH bday. But will be staying at Pop. His bday is our first day there. I want to try to get ressies at coral reef that first night and keeping my fingers crossed, but this is a last minute trip. What should I do? Are there certain restaurants that have better cakes? I have no adrs or cake plans yet.

Good luck on getting an ADR at Coral Reef. We are having dd's 12th birthday there in 2 weeks. I arranged for a personalized menu and the diver to come down with a sign saying Happy Birthday to her. They limit the diver to a handful of people a day (first-come, first-serve). I don't believe there is a limit on the personalized menus though, so I would imagine you could do that if nothing else. We also are having a gift basket delivered with dessert (arranged through Disney Floral via fairy_tale_bride here on the dis). Even if you don't have a lot of time before you're going, you never know - the diver may be available. If not though, you could also do the menu, a cake, a gift basket or other things to make your dh feel special.

I emailed the manager at Coral Reef directly about all of the arrangements. If you want that info, send me a pm.

Good luck and Happy Birthday to your dh!!! :bday:

can they do just the diver or is that something special when you do a personalized menu--if not how much is it for just the diver to say happy birthday..also do they put the persons name on the sign or is it just a general happy b-day...thanks

I ordered the Zebra cake at the AKL for my husband on Jan 19th and had it waiting for us in our room when we returned from the parks. We both agreed it was one of the best cakes we ever had. I got marble cake with the ameretto filling. Even my 7 yr went back for a 2nd piece and he is NOT a cake eater. My husband and I were shocked when he asked for more!

They were able to write Happy 30th Birthday Jonathan beautifully on it.

I highly recommend this cake!

Was this at AKL? Did they give you a box to store the cake in, forks, and plates?

I'm no expert on this, but when we booked it, we asked for both the personalized menu and the diver. I would assume you could do either without the other. The divers are first-come, first-serve and there is a limit to how many they do a day. There is no charge for either service!! :)

The sign the diver has is personalized. Ours will say "Happy Birthday Kaylee. Love, Mom & Dad." The menu has her name, her age and 4 pictures of her that we emailed to Coral Reef and of course she gets to keep it.

I'll post pictures here when we get home. We leave in 8 days!! :cool1: :woohoo:

Ooops, YES it was at the AKL! :goodvibes They left the cake in the room on a tray on one of the beds and they provided forks, napkins, plates, matches and candles with it. They didn't provide a box. The fridge is large enough to hold whatever is left, so you don't have to move the cake off of the cardboard thing they put it on. Let me know if you have anymore quesions!

Here is a picture I ordered for our daughter for our first night-- we had dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. The cake was delicious-- 8" chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. Yum! Sophie was very excited about it.

Too Funny that you are taking your daughter named Kaylee for her Bday at Coral Reef and to Disney. my daughters name is Kaylee too and we are goiing to Disney again in March for her Bday. I'm going to order a cake for our dinner at Chef Mickey's though. We did the diver at Coarl Reef for mine and Dh's anniversary in October and it was great!! He was so surprised and the food at CR was excellent too. If anyone wants I can post a picture :goodvibes .

I would LOVE  to see the picture!!! Thanks!!!

I order this cake from Linda at GF for my daughter's bday! It was so delicious and amazing!!!! It was so perfect. Thanks to Linda and all of this thread for the info.
It had marble cake with a custard and strawberry filling. We got it at 1900 Park and got the DDE discount, so it wound up costing me about $65.

Here is a picture.

Hi...I'd love to see pics of your anniversary dinner at Coral Reef. I made an ADR there for June to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary :lovestruc and am hoping to suprise my hubby with the diver and menu. Also, I would like to order a cake and would appreciate seeing any anniversary cakes :cake: that anyone has ever ordered from Coral Reef.
Thanks!

My parents are celebrating their 50th anniversary there, so this is a big deal to us, and we had thought about ordering a cake from there. Any pics appreciated-prices too! And yes, we are doing the diver and menu too hopefully! Thanks!:fish:

Ok - I am looking through these and I think it would be really fun to do a welcome to Disney cake for my family when we arrive.... and surprise my daughter and hubby.... we are staying at BC --- so where do I start how do I make this all happen... Who do I call and when do I call them.... HELP...

I also want to do the cinderella Slipper deseart for our daughter when we eat dinner at Narcoosies on our trip... How do I go about doing this for her... HELP....

Just call the Disney Cake hotline and follow the prompts for BC. The number is on the first post. I would call a week or two at the earliest. If you call too early they could loose the order.

The slipper dessert is only offered at GF and CRT so I'd call GF directly if that is where you are going to have it. If you want it at CRT then I think you might have to call the cake hotline for that too. I ordered it long before they started the cake hotline so I'm not sure if they can handle the slipper.
