Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread

Just got back. Sorry no pictures but just wanted to say we had the best cake at 1900 Park Fare! I ordered a 10" vanilla cake, vanilla butter cream icing, and custard filling with strawberries for dd's 9th birthday. I added the stand up white chocolate Cinderella. It was $40 for the cake and $15 for the Cinderella. The cake was great - usually they look nice but aren't that tasty. This one tasted like the best strawberry shortcake I ever had.

I just ordered a 10th Anniversary cake for our July dinner at California Grill. Does anyone have any pics of cakes made at the California Grill? I asked for a 8 inch cake with white buttercream inside and out with a mickey and minnie on top. I am wondering what it will turn out like, it's a suprise for my DH and our kids. The cake one of the last posters had at LTT looked so pretty, I hope mine is somewhat like that. Also I just ordered it without leaving a CC number or any deposit...is that normal???:thumbsup2

Just curious what the birthday cake you get from coral reef looks like. Anyone have pics?

I was wondering about this too - hope someone can help us!

this post by ms_mckenna shows a cake ordered at Coral Reef

I am not sure if it was ever put at the front but this is DD's cake that we got for her a Coral Reef in August. Our waitress said that the kitchen had a blast making it because it was different than the normal things they do. :goodvibes She adored it. I was very specific when I called and ordered it because I did not want Jack and I wanted to be sure it was Will from the latest movie. Which was her favorite. The CM said she would take care of it and would enjoy surfing the net for pictures lol.

We've ordered a cake twice at Le Cellier and had to leave a credit card number each time. I assumed this was standard at all restaurants. I'd recommend checking back to be sure they have your order, or perhaps someone else here will know if this is standard at California Grill.

your welcome

I can't wait to find out what you find out
(if that makes sense )

I emailed wegoshop with my question as I was hoping to use them to deliver my groceries and thought maybe they could deliver the cake as well. But still no response!
I'll post what I find out from them too.

I am so disappointed. I just ordered a cake for my Dad's birthday at Biergarten and found out they only have two sizes, and they will not personalize either one. There is a six inch cake and 10 inch cake. (I was hoping for 8 inch.) We have 6 adults and 2 small kids in the party. Which size should I go for? There are other desserts there, so I am thinking the 6 inch and everyone can just have a small piece. I really don't want to have left overs. But now I am second guessing my decision.

He likes vanilla, so there is either the standard vanilla with vanilla butter cream, or the 10 inch which is a white chocolate cake. I think the 6 inch is just the cake that you can request when you arrive if you haven't pre-ordered anything. Anyone had the white chocolate cake? Maybe it is worth getting the 10 inch if this cake is better.

I am disappointed, but I guess the whole point is really just to have a cake, and candle and sing happy birthday. They will have a birthday candle right?

Any advice is appreciated.

We've never had Publix deliver groceries, but that's where we do our grocery shopping at home. All the cakes we've gotten from there are great. They also have some great decorations & specialty cakes. You can view the cakes on their website. http://publix.com/food/catalog/Bakery/DecoratedCakes/Home.do I don't know if there's any limitations for delivered cakes. Good luck getting the cake you want.

thanks again tarheelmjfan for giving us the link to Publix cakes!!!!!!

I'd go with a 6 inch. If there are any leftovers you are probably not gonna want to be carrying them around Epcot with you. I'm gonna have two cakes delivered to our room at the beginnning of our trip ~one for DD and one for DS. That way we can get larger ones and enjoy it all week.

I'm still hoping Publix will come through for me.

but if not then there is always the bakery at AKL (however they don't do any fancy designs).

I am planning on getting the small white cake with the chocolate castle on top for my DD's b-day, we are eating at 1900 Park Fair. By the looks of this cake it is not very big. But that is fine. I don't want anything really big, because I'm sure we will be full and I don't want to have to carry around the left-overs. My question is does anyone know about how many small pieces I can get out of this. Can I get four?

Like packages, can leftover cake be delivered to the rooms?

This is a GREAT thread BTW. I think I HAVE to order DD a b'day cake now :D

I think you should be totally fine with 4. I just called and switched my cake to the larger one at Biergarten, I think I was crazy to think I could do the 6 inch for 6 adults and 2 kids. The recording on the cake line said that the 6 inch was good for parties of 5 or less.

Do you mean the mini wedding cake with the white choc castle on top shown below or do you mean the 6 inch cake?

The mini cake is meant for one person. You can certainly share with 4 people but the pieces will be tiny. 1900 Park Fair has a dessert buffet so you really don't need a big cake.

The 6 inch cake can easily feed 4 people.

That is so pretty

Does anyone on here have any information or photos of a "Belle" cake?? We are going to Disney in March as a surprise for my dd who is turning 8 and I would like to have one at her bday dinner at LTT during one of the P&P parties. Thanks

Kim

I called the publix on vineland. I ordered the Winnie the pooh watering hole cake. That they will not deliver :sad1:. But I ordered it anyway. One thought is I am having the room decorated they said they will pick up the cake for me and have it in the room. Now I am paying $100 to have the room decorated soooo, but I was going to do that anyway so this way I get the cake in the room as well. Let me know what wego says. Oh and the cake I ordered was $45 with custard and strawberries.
