Thanks for the info Tricia.....if you don't mind I have 1 more for you.

What were the choices you were given for the filling and frostenings? I am going to call them tomorrow and trying to figure what I want to go with. I will be ordering for Chef Mickey's and would love to have the strawberry custard filling but not sure if that is doable for that location. I will be ordering the 10".

No problem. I was in the car so wasn't able to write anything down but the strawberry custard was an option. The others were white chocolate, chocolate and something else. The 10" does have more options when I was ordering the 8" I was only given 2 options, not the strawberry

I ordered a cake to be delievered to Narcoossee's for my Mom's birthday and it was DIVINE! It had raspberry mousse filling, buttercream icing, yum! It was so large that we were giving part of it away to the bell service guys when we got back to Boardwalk.

Anyway, I really love so many of the cakes in this thread, and I am interested in trying something different for our upcoming trip in January. When I intially called and ordered my Mom's cake they weren't overly helpful, but the cake turned out wonderful. If I'm wanting something a bit more detailed (like, say, a seaside theme, or pirate cake) do I just still call the cake hotline, or take another route?

I'm sorry to hear this...do you mind telling us what type of cake Linda said was not possible? It might be helpful in deciding what kind of a cake we want. What size was your cake? It seems that I've only seen the 10" and bigger ones with white chocolate figures on this thread.

To any one else who might be able to answer this...we'll be staying at the GF, would you recommend getting our DD5's birthday cake at dinner or in our room? We have ADR's for Narcoosee's and Park Faire. Thanks!

This is the second negative Park Faire birthday cake experience I've read about on these boards recently (the other involved first no cake, then brought the wrong cake, then no plates or silverware for the cake, then the cake didn't taste good . . . etc.) If I were you, I think I'd steer clear of Park Faire.

We recently celebrated a birthday at the GF and had a cake delivered to the Garden View Tea Room. We were too full to eat any of it and the servers really didn't make much of a fuss (which was what DH was hoping for); on the other hand, we were able to use our DDE 20% discount on the cake as well as our meal so that made it worth having at a restaurant. Otherwise, I think it would have gone over better if we'd had it set up in the hotel room.

:wave2: Hi everyone! I was wondering if I could get some help. I can't decide what I should have on the cake I'm going to order for my DHs 31st birthday dinner at Chef Mickeys. His favorite character is Cinderella but I think that might look a little wierd. So I was thinking of maybe doing just a Mickey cake but I want something special. Can they do the chocolate figures? What are some suggestions that you may have? The cake and dinner are from the kids (10 and 3) Any suggestions would be great! Thankspixiedust:

I have been reading through this thread for a few months! I've been window shopping and can hardly wait to order a cake for our trip in February.

I do have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can answer. Does Coral Reef make cakes? And if not, can I have a cake delivered there? I thought I read somewhere that cakes can't be delivered to Epcot.:confused3 Is that true? That just seems odd to me.

Has anyone ever ordered a cake offsite to be delivered to their room? If so who did you use and what did you think?

I would like to know this, too. I wanted to have DD's and DB's Birthday dinner at the Coral Reef. I didn't know they don't deliver to Epcot. Is this true?

This probably has been answered already but there's so many pages and I'm new at this..:tinker:
What flavor is the mini castle cake available in??
Thanks

These were the choices at one time, not sure if they still are.

chocolate cake with dark chocolate mousse
yellow cake with white chocolate mousse
cheesecake

cheesecake

That sounds yummy!!! Do you know what kind of cheesecake it is, & what the icing is like? I must admit that I somehow missed seeing a pic of the mini castle cake, but if cheesecake is an option, I'll go search in search of it now. :teeth:

No, I don't know what kind of cheesecake it is. The icing is a buttercream.

Thanks for the answer of the question above. I have another question.. Is it possible to get an 8 inch with vanilla cake and vanilla frosting?? I'm going to Ohana and wanted to get a cake for my dad, how's the bakery and does anyone have any pics?? Thanks!!

I've been reading this thread, forgive me if I missed it. Has anyone gotten a Star Wars cake? My little guy is a big fan. I'd like to order one for his birthday.

If you have gotten a Star Wars cake could you post a picture? :) TIA! :goodvibes

We had a cake at Coral Reef for ds' 7th birthday in June. I was a little disappointed in it. I had wanted a Nemo Theme but the not screened fondant top - which is exactly what we got! Ds loved it though, we also did the diver, but they lost our personalized menu.

Our favorite cakes that we've had at Disney for birthdays so far were a chocolate mickey head cake at Crystal Palace and the mini wedding cake at GF. We had another mickey head cake at YC Galley which was just okay, and while they were really pretty neither one of my girls really liked the white chocolate slipper dessert we ordered at the GF.

Thanks for the pic. That's a beautiful cake. I may have to "hint" to my hubby that I'd like one with cheesecake inside for my birthday. ;)

We haven't chosen our resort yet, but we know we want to stay in an Epcot resort. Where can we get this cake from? If it's only from GF, we may have to schedule a meal there. Thanks again for your help. :)

What a great photo of this adorable cake!! Can I ask you a question please, beattyfamily? How many people would you say this little cake can serve? It seems pretty small, but from what I have read the smaller ones are more than enough. Do you mind sharing what the cost of the cake was too please? Thank you!

Hi everyone! I am planning to order a cake for our dinner at Park Fare in January. Despite any negative comments I have heard, this is the place we will be celebrating our DD's 5th birthday! I had planned to get the mini castle cake all along, but now our party has grown. My DSIL and family have decided to join us so that makes us a party of seven, not three. As well, both of my nieces will celebrate January birthdays so I have to include them in the cake thing.

What size cake should I get for the seven of us? I do not mind if there are leftovers as our room has a small fridge (POFQ). One niece is not a fan of chocolate, but everyone else is. Would the marble cake be a good compromise? Can anyone suggest the filling to have with marble? Is it a true half white, half chocolate cake?

I really like the look of the cake that has the marble icing or fondant on top. I have seen it with a white chocolate "page or scroll" that then has your "Happy Birthday to..." written on it. Is this a good idea for a cake to celebrate three children's birthdays? I still love the idea of having the mini castle somewhere in there. Can this be done somehow?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be most welcomed. If you have any price ranges to, that would help.

Thanks so much, Suz

It is meant for one person but I think 2 can share it especially after a large meal.

It was $25 and what makes it so expensive is the white choc castle on top. If I remember correctly, I think she told me the castle alone was $15.

I was hoping someone could help me!

I want to order a cake for my hubby's bday on Nov 24th. We are staying at OKW. We plan to have lunch at Tony's Town Square on his bday.

Who would I call to get a cake at the restaurant? What fillings can you get? I need a cake to feed 9 people, 3 are kids. Can you get Star Wars on the cakes?

Thank you so much! I really want to make his day special!
