This morning I ordered a birthday cake for my SIL for our upcoming trip. The process couldn't have been easier! I called the number shown on page 1, followed the prompts & a very nice lady answered the call. She was very helpful & patient with me. My mind kept going between the Mickey cake & a Tinkerbelle cake. You can only get the Mickey cake in either vanilla or chocolate & no filling & no personalizing. (I know I saw a picture with writing on the Mickey head) I finally chose to order a 10 inch vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling & white icing, topped with Tinkerbelle. The cake will be delivered to our villa at the Boardwalk the day we arrive. My nieces will love it! I'll post a picture when we get back.

Can't wait to see the photos. Have a fun trip!!

Thanks so much for posting this info!!! We'll be at Chefs de France for our 10 year anniversary - Exactly where we were on our Honeymoon!!! So excited to get the cake and surprise my DH!

I just orderered a cake this morning through Linda at the Grand Floridian. I had called her yesterday and left a message. She called back when I was gone and gave me a number where I could reach her directly. By the time I got home and called her back, she was gone for the day. She called early this morning and helped me decide on a cake for my daughter's 6th birthday. She was so friendly and easy to work with. We will be dining at 1900 Park Fare for dinner. I ordered the 8" personalized cake with a screenprint of Ariel on it. I will be sure and post pictures when we get back. The cost is $40.

does anyone know if you can order the little mini wedding cakes on DCL? DH and I will be celebrating our 20th and the free cakes are good but I want something a little more special.

I have a question. I ordered a special cake for my nephew from Boardwalk bakery, for his 16th Birthday. We are staying at Pop Century and planning to go to Epcot that day then Magic for Spectro that night. Will the people at Pop deliver the cake to the room or will I need to go myself? I have heard something about runners, but how do you get them to help you? Who do you talk to? If I have to get it myself, what time does Boardwalk bakery open? Do you have any advice about how to get the cake with as little interruption to touring Epcot as possible? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Jacyns - That is the cutest cake. May I ask how much was it? Did you tell them what you wanted or did they come up with it on their own?

We had a cake ordered for the day we arrived at Pop. When we checked in we told them and asked if it could be picked up for us. He said sure they would have a runner pick it up and store it in their fridge until our room was ready. They actually kept it until we went to get it since our room was late being ready and we were there waiting for the room so we just picked it up from luggage services. They stored it in their fridge.

I have search feature issues, so forgive me if this has been asked already.

Has anyone ordered a cake from Wilderness Lodge? We'll be staying there, and I'd prefer to have my birthday cake in May in my room rather than at a restaurant. Are their cakes any good?

I'd almost say I'd love a Wilderness Lodge themed cake, but not sure if anyone has ever had anything like that. If you had one there, what did it look like, how much was it, etc.?

This is my first time dealing with Disney for cakes, so I am more than a little on edge about this, even though it's 6 months+ away.

We ordered my FIL a marble cake with buttercream filling and icing that we enjoyed at WCC on Oct. 24th. It was delicious!!!! The filling layers weren't too thick and the buttercream wasn't too teeth-rotting sweet but it was just right! When I ordered it I told the cake phone line lady that my ILs were very big into camping and were actually staying at FWC (we stayed at VWL) so I was hoping that they'd do something woodsy looking for the decorations. The cake had some very beautiful roses and petals on it but they were inedible (we tried and they were just nasty tasting, lol). This picture if one that my FIL took and it doesn't show the layers - he is new to taking pictures of food.;)

I'd definately order another one there! :thumbsup2

Catrina Beach thank you for the help. I am so excited about this trip. We are taking all our nieces and nephews who have never been. This is my family's 3rd trip.

I've been reading this thread for months, planning on what I was going to order my DD for her 10th birthday. We had decided to have her birthday dinner at 1900 Park Faire, so a couple of weeks before we left I phoned the GF and talked to Linda about what I wanted. First she told me that I couldn't get what I wanted even though I has seen photos of it on this thread! Anyway I compromised and asked for a personalized chocolate cake with a screen print of Tink on it.

This was the worst meal that we had for the whole two weeks. We were totally rushed throughtout our time there. Our waiter brought out the cake before we had finished eating the entree items from the bufet and literally threw the plate onto the table. The cake had a chocolate Tink on it which was sliding down into the cake because the cake topping would not take the weight of the Tink and it was the wrong size cake. I was so upset!! We will never eat dinner there again!!

Woohoo I just ordered a cake for our next trip. We are having dinner at the GFC on Dec 18th and I wanted a cake. Last time we went we did cakes but the 2 older boys weren't with us and it's my BF's DD's & my nephew's first trip.

I just ordered a 10 inch marble with dark chocolate mousse with whip cream frosting with the words A Magical Christmas with a Christmas Theme.

She said it would be 40.00. It seems so weird because I paid so much more the last time by getting figurines lol. With 4 kids I can't do one figurine or they will fight over who eats it.

Can't wait to see what they do for us ! I think I will call a week before to check on it since I ordered it so early. But we leave a week before we get to Disney and I didn't want to wait any longer lol

Here are some pictures of our son's birthday cake. It was delivered to our room at the Grand Floridian. The cake was marble with buttercream topping and filling (our son has simple tastes). It was delicious and beyond beautiful!

Every decoration was totally edible. The sand, the coral, the sea horses, the starfish, the shells, the sea weed, the other sea creatures...it was amazing! The beautiful color swirled fondant was perfect.**Ignore the nasty little fly perched on the edge of the Pluto picture...ICK, I am glad I didn't see that then!!**

Our son loved his 8th birthday cake!!

I'm sorry to hear this...do you mind telling us what type of cake Linda said was not possible? It might be helpful in deciding what kind of a cake we want. What size was your cake? It seems that I've only seen the 10" and bigger ones with white chocolate figures on this thread.

To any one else who might be able to answer this...we'll be staying at the GF, would you recommend getting our DD5's birthday cake at dinner or in our room? We have ADR's for Narcoosee's and Park Faire. Thanks!

Ordered our cake earlier this week for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Our dinner will be at 1900 PF. Marble cake with custard and raspberries. Buttercream with ivory fondant on top. Stamped golden Mickeys all over the cake with the Minnie and Mickey white chocolate bride & groom. Total cost $95.

I'll post a report when we return.

Thanks everyone for your help. I could not have done this without you.

Lisa

Is there a picture of the mickey head cake cut?
I thought I remember seeing one a few months back but can't find it. I want to order this for our trip in a few weeks. Both DS will have birthdays while we're there. I want to have it delivered to POR the first night.
Is the cake torted/layered or just a 2" layer no frosting in the middle? We actually prefer less icing but that fudge ganache looks amazing.
Is the cake yellow or chocolate or do I have a choice?
We arrive the day after Thanksgiving 11/23 mid afternoon. I'd like the cake to be a surprise when we get back from our supper ADR. Should I order it now or wait to this time next week?

Thanks for the help. Angela

From what I've read, they need no more than 48 hours notice...matter of fact, some orders placed weeks/months ahead of time get lost!

Has anyone ordered the Mini Castle cake from Grand Floridian and had it delivered to their room at Saratoga Springs. Thanks
