I booked trip today for April. I sit too early to order a cake? Do I call the first number on page 1 or the restaurant I want to have it at?
so confused.

Yes, it is way too early to already order your cake. Between now and April, there are many months, many days on which your order could get lost.
I am waiting impatiently until about 2 weeks before we'll be at Disney to order my cake. When we arrive in Orlando, we spent 1 night at DTD before we got to Port Canaveral/ Bahamas (and after that WDW), and I plan on confirming my cake order then, to be sure it wasn't lost!

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if they do specialty cakes at the Dolphin Resort? Has anyone ever ordered one? Can they do Disney theme? Thanks! :thumbsup2

Just got off the phone w/the cake hotline for CRT. The lady I spoke to was so nice which was a good thing because I was so nervous. I don't know why but I was. Anyways - I wanted an 8" cake chocolate w/white frosting so it wasn't too chocolately. But they only do all chocolate or all vanilla. So I got all chocolate. I wanted to do a cake w/a stand up figurine of Cinderella but they don't do those at CRT just the image for $8. So I ended up with an 8" all chocolate cake w/image of 3 princesses (Ariel, Belle & Cinderella) for a topper & I asked for flowers as well because DD4 loves flowers. And of course it will say "Happy Birthday! and have one candle. They'll bill me at CRT after lunch.

So - it was a good experience - the CM was very nice. I didn't get exactly as I wanted but I think if we were eating at GF we could have but I think eating cake in a castle is a great bday present. Can't get much better then that for a 5 year old princess. I'm sure the cake will be beautiful and I'll be sure to take a pic.

Just an FYI for those interested in getting a cake at DD:

I wanted a cake to celebrate DS going to college and the only 2 meals he will be there for are WPC and Kona Cafe. I called the cake hotline and the only restaurant at DD was Capt'n Jacks.

Oh well, cake is good for breakfast! (LOL), so I called for Kona. I talked to Joan in Private Dining and it started off very well. She first offered the 6 inch, then the 8 inch with all vanilla or all chocolate. I mentioned that he really wanted vanilla cake with chocolate icing and she said, "Oh, we can do that". Great! I asked about decorations, such as characters and she said that it costs an extra $30 for a character! :scared1:

She asked what to write on the cake and I said that it was for a son starting college and what do you suggest? She didn't really say anything, so I finally said, "I guess Congratulations or Good Luck, something like that." Then I went back to the decoration and asked if the character was a figurine for the extra $30 and she said, "No, it's the round flat thing on top that you eat!" I confirmed, "And that's an extra $30?" and she said "Yes"! (I just don't think that can be right. I know it was about $8 last year.) I felt like she was just trying to discourage me from getting it because she just kept on going and never asked it I wanted it or not. (I didn't ask for it, because it's not worth $30!)

I asked her if they could decorate it with something appropriate for a boy going to college (not flowers) and she put a note on it, but said that it depends on who makes it and it's not guaranteed. I hope it'll look nice and not too "girly".

So, does anyone have any suggestions for what to say on the cake besides "Good Luck Kevin"? He's going to film school to be a film maker, and isn't all that much into Disney (shocking, I know!) He does like Sorcerer Mickey and Fantasmic.

Okay, we're back and here's an update on our cake situation. The next day after I ordered the cake for Kona, I told DD16 and she acted like, "Cake for breakfast, yuck), so I had second thoughts and called and cancelled it. Then I called the cake hotline for Pop Century and was going to have one delivered to our room. No one answered, so I left a message. No one called back and we left the next day for Orlando, so I just decided to forget about it.

Fast forward to breakfast at Kona. I'd forgotten all about the cake, when all of sudden after we finished eating, here comes the waitress with a cake! I know I looked as shocked as everyone else did, since I'd canceled it 4 days before. It was the exact cake I'd ordered, white cake with chocolate icing (kind of a whipped cream type icing). It had the round flat disc on top with Mickey saying "Congratulations", and the cake said "Congratulations Kevin". There were no flowers, just some kind of scalloped decorations around the edge. I couldn't take a picture, because we didn't even have our camera with us. It was a very nice looking cake, and tasted good too. The price was $25.

I ended up being very glad that it wasn't canceled after all, because DS looked so surprised and happy about it. :) And actually, it worked out good having it for breakfast, because you don't get dessert with breakfast (but i was glad I didn't get the Tonga Toast - that would've been way too much sweets!)

I'm glad it worked out. I didn't think they delivered cakes at the values - is this new?

I just wanted to see if anyone had or had heard of any recent experiences with Poly in-room cake deliveries. I am looking to order an 8" cake for my mom and I our first night, and have it delivered while we are at dinner at Kona (if that's possible). I would really really like a vanilla cake, vanilla frosting, Peter Pan/Tinkerbell theme- do you think thats possible?

Any help is appreciated!!!

THANKS! :thumbsup2

Well, I didn't actually do it, but it is an option on the new cake hotline. I believe the cakes are made elsewhere and delivered to the food court. I'm pretty sure the answering machine said something like, "You've reached Chef _____ at Everything Pop" (which is the name of the food court). Maybe someone else has done it and will let us know!

My head is spinning from all these posts...I think I can do this, but want to make sure.
I can call the cake hot line and get a cake from the MK, we can pick it up at the MK bakery and take it back to the room if we can not get a cake delivered to our room at the Allstar Music..is that correct?
I was thinking of trying to get a reservation at the Grand Floridian Cafe but we are just 9 days out and I doubt I will be able to get any reservations at this late date.

Actually, I think the only place you can pick up a cake is at the Boardwalk Bakery or you could try to arrange a cake to be picked up at the All Star Food Court.

I'd call the cake hotline and choose the option for All Stars. I believe they are one of options.

Just do a test call and see if All Star is one of the options, I believe it is.

I think you MIGHT be able to get a reservation at the GF cafe...why don't you call and see, if you'd like to eat there. Then the cake can be delivered to your table there.

I called a couple of days ago for a ressie for Narcoossee's and was able to get it for next week. I would try to get whatever ressie you want, maybe you will get lucky and then can get the cake you want at GF! ;)

I called today and was able to get a reservation at the Cafe at the GF, its for 5:30 but that will be okay. So I will call the cake hotline and see about ordering a cake.
Thanks so much for all the advice!!

Great! Glad it worked out for you...now, on to the cake details!!

Has anyone ever ordered anything special from CR in-room dining? Chocolate Monorail, Birthday cake, etc? It is DH's bday while we are there and AKL CL is doing the zebra cake for that portion of our stay, but I also wanted to do something at CR for DH!;) Any ideas out there?:confused3 Thanks!:thumbsup2

I just called the cake hotline and got through to Doug a the GF, what a nice guy.
I ordered a 10 inch yellow cake with white choc filling and icing with a Mickey Screen print. The cake is $25 and the screen print $15 for a total of $40.00. I used my visa to hold the order and was told I would pay at the GF Cafe, and I can use my DDE for the discount. Our dinner reservation is for next Sunday so this is really getting exciting.
All in all a very nice experience, I had wanted something with the Pirates of the Caribbean theme, but they did not have anything available. I checked with the boys mom before I called and she said if we could not get POC theme, then we should do Mickey Mouse since we will be in WDW.

how much do one of these things cost?
thing is we are eating at the norway princess dinner, and I am wondering if we even need one?

can you order one right to your room?

we are staying @ POP

Finally got the pictures on the computer of my DD5's Aurora cake that we had last week at Narcoosees. It was very tasty, and just too pretty. My daughter was thrilled.

Ok I promised a few months ago after I ordered DD21's b-day cake that I would post it here, We dined at V&A's on 9/20 for her b-day and at the end of our meal they brought out her cake. It went way beyond my expectations :) . It is a yellow cake with swirled white and dark chocolate ganache with fresh raspberries and white chocolate mousse filling and a white chocolate Tinkerbell cake topper finished with edible gold leaf.

MommaPooh this cake is gorgeous! I think I'd have trouble cutting into that thing...it's a work of art! WOW!!!! Okay so I have to ask...how much? What size? Where did you call to order?

Thank you for sharing this cake!

It was a ten inch cake. I called V&A's in May and ordered it for our dinner there. I called back a month before we arrived to confirm the order and again a few days before we dined there. It cost $85.
