Has anyone gotten any with the chocolate toppers from Boardwalk Bakery or are those only available at Grand Floridian?

Specifically, I like the Mickey topper. It will be for hubby's bday and I'm not sure how he'd feel about the castle.

Anyone???

I haven't gone through this whole thread, but I'm interested in ordering a castle cake and according to the first post this is only available at GF restaurants. On post #10 someone had it delivered to their room at the Poly. I'm not planning on eating at GF...Does anyone know if they will deliver this to SSR?

We're eating at 1900 Park Fare on my b-day which will be held at the GFC. To place a cake order should I call the GF Bakery or the restaurant direct?

Call the Cake Hotline number which is listed on the first page of this thread. They will direct you accordingly.

We just got back and had ordered a special occasion cake for my DD's 9th birthday. We really loved the idea of the Mad Hatter cake, so I called to talk with someone to see if sizing it down was a possibility.

I had asked for something "fun and very funky" for a 9 yo. Although my cake was very pretty, I couldn't help but feeling it wasn't to funky or fun.

DD still loved it though!!!

I LOVE it! It's great!

Give us all the details! How much was it? Where did you order it from?

Thanks for sharing the photos!

I definitely think it is funky and fun! How unique it is!!!
Thanks for sharing..

wow I think that cake is WONDERFUL!!! I would also like to hear some info about it,, what size it was, where it was ordered from etc etc :)

Wow Cinderella! What an awesome cake!!! I am definitely asking for a fun & funky cake for my DH's birthday!!

I think that cake is absolutely terrific! Add me to the list of those intersted in the details, if you don't mind sharing. I'd guess it came from the GF by the looks of it, did it? I'd also guess it was expensive, LOL. ;)

LOL!!! I didn't mean to sound quite so negative about it, believe me I was thrilled!!

We did order from the GF bakery, but it was before the whole "cake hotline" came about. We ate at 1900 PF.

The cake was $100.00 (yes, a bit pricey I agree.....) but it was certainly unique and special!! I do have the DDE, so we got 20% off of it as well, bringing it down to $80.- a little easier to swallow, still a lot for a cake, but they certainly put a lot of time into it.

As for the size, when I spoke with the CM (I forget her name, maybe Karen?) I asked if instead of the whole multiple layers, we could just have one layer all snazzed up ;) Also, they asked which type of filling we wanted. It could have been custard, berries, peanut butter, or anything else mentioned on this thread previously, but we're not really into filling. So, in between the layers is buttercream frosting. So delicious, and so SWEET. Everything on the cake was edible. The "antenna" type things on the top reminded me of the "circus peanuts" we used to get by the bag when we were kids. (do you remember what I'm talking about?-the pure sugar ones??) :yay:

If anyone has any other questions, I'll be sure to check back!

That "Mad Hatter" cake is AMAZING! I would love to see it done in shades of purple....wow. How cool is that?

Cinderella~ That is an awesome cake! Thanks for sharing the pictures and info with us.

 Nothing but buttercream between the layers!!!! None of that filling to detract from the glory of the buttercream! A woman after my own heart....My whole family's heart! And what a whimsical cake too.

Aside from the cake, did they do anything special for your DD there? I have heard rumors of a tiara......

Thanks.

Thanks.

We got tiara's at the Gf before they came in silver or gold (our waiter let us pick) and they said happy birthday on them and had blue and pink jewels on them.

Sorry to be thick.....So do you mean you got there and picked out the tiara before your DD knew about it? Or do you mean your DD picked it out? I guess someone gives it to her at some point during the dinner. Thanks for all your help.

That is one of the best cakes i've seen, my DD will be 11 on our next trip and i'm sure she would love something like that. Thanks for the info and photos Cinderella2004!
