Hey all,
Just got back yesterday from our trip. We had a cake from the YC for our Illuminations cruise. I forgot to take a pic of it straight on, but heres a pic from a distance. The cake was fantastic, all chocolate, with blackberries, raspberries and blueberries on top with chocolate leaves garnishing it. It was really good, very chocolatey and moist.

PS with tax the cost was about 35.00. It fed6 people and we still had almost half a cake left. IF you are considering a Iluminations cruise with a cake, it was totally worth it. We had a great Capt, Nicole, see if you can request her.

Oooohh!!!! Pictures! Pictures!!

I haven't figured out the fine art of posting photos but if you go to post #6, and put a Tinkerbell on top of the cake (similar to the Cinderellas that have been shown) you have the cake we ordered!!!

Bravo!!!! Bravo!!!! Zurgswife Bravo!!!! Bravo!!!! :thanks:

Being the person in the family that does all the planning and "secret" planning for everyone (yep including myself, Dad had me order my own cake, "but don't tell the rest of the family, it's a surprise for you that you are not to know about!" :rotfl2: )

I have a 48th wedding anniversary and a "Great Big Thank You for helping after my surgery" surprises to plan. Also, will be staying CR CL so hopefully some of the wonderful cakes and ideas will get put into action. Will also be nice to send pics of what I want.

I can't make up my mind. I would like to have a special cake for our dinner at Artist Point on our first night since it is to celebrate our anniversary that is a few weeks earlier. I also thought this would be easier for me to get the rest of the cake back to our RV since we will be at FW. I don't really want to carry the cake all over the place.
I haven't really heard much about anyone getting a cake there? Anyone have any experience with getting one there? I don't want one of the ones you can just get the same night at the podium. I want a special one.

Thanks for any help.

do you have to pre-order the Glass Slipper dessert at CRT?
want to do something special for our anniversary..

Yes you do. :) Atleast 48 hours in advance, just like ordering a cake.

pirate: We just got back home on Sunday 10/29. I ordered a birthday cake to be served on Wednesday night 10/25 at Tony's. The cake was very good. It was an 8" fresh white cake with chocolate buttercream frosting made at the GF bakery, and had a picture of the disney characters. The CM told me that they ususally have white frosting with white cake, but she would make a note that I wanted chocolate instead of the white. And it was done with chocolate frosting! :thumbsup2 We were six in our party, and celebrating two birthdays. We couldn't finish the cake, and didn't want to take it with us. A party at the next table was celebrating a child's birthday, and didn't have a cake. We ended up giving them the rest of ours, which they rather enjoyed! :thumbsup2 That made me very happy that they were able to enjoy the rest of the cake on a special day. :goodvibes

I just ordered a cake from Coral Reef for my ds's birthday in March! They are doing a Nemo theme! :wizard: I was just wondering if anyone else has had one from CR? And how it was?? :rotfl:

Thanks to all the info here, I ordered a cake for our anniversary and had it at 1900 Park Fare. I asked for an 8" chocolate cake with chocolate icing, a chocolate flower and the castle. It cost $25 for the cake + $15 for the topper for a total of $40. We had five people and ate less than half. It was delicious and beautiful. Sorry the pictures aren't the best!

Jacksmom-How much are they charging you at the CR for the Nemo cake? We are going to be there in April. Did you call CR directly? They didn't mind you calling so far in advance? Did you arrange for the diver with the banner also??TIA for any help you can provide!!!!

mimif1-YOur cake looks delicious!!!!!

I called CR directly. pixiedust: They did not appear to have a problem with me calling so early! :rotfl: The Nemo cake is an 8 inch cake for $25 plus $7 for the decorations on it! :cake: I did request the diver also! :fish:

I just love this cake:

I don't mind if it's a "frozen" cake, I think it's adorable and DD would love it. Where can I find it?
We had this exact cake for DS 5th bday this past May. I ordered it from the Boardwalk Bakery and had it delivered to our BW room, but they can deliver it anywhere on site. It was soooo yummy, very think and rich!

Does anyone have pics or even seen an Ariel cake? My daughter is all about Ariel and may be at WDW for her 3rd bday. Would love to see some pics. :goodvibes

I called the number for WL and they tried to transfer me to Artist Point but then it wouldn't go through. I decided to call Disney Dining to see what info they have and they gave me a different number. I called it and got through to a very nice lady who helped me with our anniversary cake.
Choices were vanilla, chocolate or marble cake, vanilla, choc or rasberry filling, and then vanilla, choc, whipped, choc ganache (sp?) icing. I think those were all the choices. I didn't ask about characters or anything since it was for our anniversary. I don't know what else they might have. The smaller cake they have can't be personalized so I got the bigger cake. I think it is 10". I have to look at my papers which I dont' have with me at the moment. It is $40. I hope it is worth it. :cake:
I will let you all know how it turns out. We go in Dec.
Thanks for this wonderful thread.

Was it really yummy?

What flavor/s are on the inside?

How much?

How much time was it from ordering to delivery?

Hi! We just got back from a week in WDW for Halloween! I called California Grill about two weeks before our trip and ordered a custom cake to have after our dinner on Oct. 29th. I got the 8" vanilla cake with white chocolate mouse and white chocolate icing. It was $25 (minus the 20% off with the Disney Dining Experience card) and was added onto our bill at dinner. I told them to decorate it for Halloween, and here is what it looked like...

I was very happy with the way it turned out! The kids loved it and the cake was delicious!

Just wondering has anyone has ever ordered a cake at Sci Fi??? If so, what was it like? Or from 50's PT???

thanks for sharing cake info all - subscribing so I can decide what to order before our trip next May.

Also arriving in May (31) Can anyone tell me if the vanilla icing/ frosting is more like whiped cream (not overly sweet) or cake frosting (like betty crocker etc...)TIA :sunny:
