I odered this cake from the GF Bakery. We ate at 1900 PF lon Sept. 17th for dinner and we were celebrating my Brother and SIL's 10th anniv. This cake was soooo good. It was all chocolate and that ganash is the best!! Cost was $25 plus tax. Well worth it!

Can you tell me what you asked for when you ordered? TIA

They decided that instead of a bunch of sticky's they'd put all the important threads into ONE sticky thread and its called: Links to WDW Dining FAQs and Information. You can find this thread in there! :thumbsup2

Thanks for posting this info. I knew it had been a sticky early on but couldn't find it when I went searching for it where I 'thought' it was. Thank goodness I bookmarked it in my Faves. I want to order a cake for my parents' 57th wedding anniversary celebration and this thread is definitely a HUGE wealth of info. I'll be confirming my order before we arrive.

Where is the best place to order a special occasion cake...GF? BW Bakery? MK Bakery? Please share your thoughts.

Anyone ever get a Stitch themed cake or a grumpy?? DH and DS will be clebrating theirs on our trip. Was hoping someone may have a pic they could share???

Bump!

This thread has too much information to fall to page 3! :sunny:

pirate: I called 407-824-7091 to order a birthday cake. The CM was very helpful. The Main Street Bakery no longer supplies the cakes. The GF Bakery now supplies the cakes. We are having dinner at Tony's on 10/25. Seeing that the 6" cakes are frozen, I had to order an 8" cake. I wanted vanilla with chocolate icing. She said that they have vanilla cake with vanilla icing. However, she was going to put down on the order that I wanted the chocolate icing if possible. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will do this for us. :thumbsup2

Here are pictures of a cake GF bakery did for my son this week. We are here as part of his graudation celebration. I can't tell you how DELISH this cake was. It had White choc mousse filling and frosting then the layer of choc/white choc topping. All the decorations were made out of chocolate incudling the mortar board and soccer ball. Now I am trying to figure out how to get the decorations home. Any suggestions?

I love the comedy/tragedy masks!!!! Have to remember those for the future for my budding thespian!!!!

I'll be checking into the GF on November 1st, would it be possible to mention at check-in that I'd like a cake delivered to the room the following evening? or should I definitely ring up before I leave?

I just had my private dining event last night and I ordered a cake from the GF bakery. I have to say, I was really disappointed in it. I love cake and paid extra to have a marble cake and I could not even finish a piece of it. It was really bad in my opinion and I feel that I wasted $50 on this cake. That is just my opinion. Take it for what it is worth.

Hi,

Has anyone had a cake delivered to their room at POFQ from the GF bakery?? Or elsewhere?? I would like to get a anniversary cake for my mum and dads 26th wedding anniversary.

If you can have it delivered, ideally i would like it to be delivered while we are out so that its a suprise when we return, can this be done or will someone have to be in the room????? How much would the delivery charge be?

Alternativly, on the day of their anniversary, we have a reservation at the crystal palace and was wondering if this may be a possible option?? would i ring the restaurant itself or the bakery in MK??? are they as good as the ones from the GF bakery?????? Finally, how would it work, do i tell the restaurant my reservation number and then the cake would be brought out at the time of desert????

Also, they dont make a big deal out of bringing out the cakes do they??!! its just that my brothers wil be with us and would die of embarrasment, as would mum and dad probably!

Sorry there are sooooooooooo many questions!

Bummer :(. You should talk to the GF bakery and let them know that the cake was bad. Maybe they did something wrong with your cake and they should know. At the very least, you should get a refund. Give them a chance to make it right.

I don't mind if it's a "frozen" cake, I think it's adorable and DD would love it. Where can I find it?

Here is a picture of the cake I had ordered for my friends birthday at 'Ohana...

It was Vanilla Cake, Fruit Mousse Filling and Whipped Cream frosting. I wasn't too keen on the "fruit mousse" at first but it was my friends choice since it was her birthday and....

IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!

The cake was moist, the whipped cream was extra creamy and yummy and the fruit mousse was actually really, really good, not too sweet or too overpowering...I should have never doubted the Disney Bakers....shame on me haha :rotfl:

What a pretty cake! Did you order it from O'Hana or from the bakery? I ordered DD's cake from O'Hana so I'm hoping to hear some good things about their cakes.

Yeah! I'm glad to hear their cakes are good. It makes me nervous when I can't see the cake before I order it and all I have to go on is what the CM tells me it looks like. I'll post a picture of Sarah's cake when we get back.

So I have a question. I'm wanting to surprise my DW with a wedding cake on our vacation, so I can't ask her a lot of specifics without raising some suspicions. :confused3 In general she doesn't like frosting, because it's so rich/sweet. What all have you heard of people doing for frostings/toppings on cakes? THANKS!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Whipped Cream is usually less sweet than buttercream...I do not like butter cream because it is so sweet...does she like whipped cream? HTH! :)
