Okay I called back. The Cinderella Slipper Dessert at CRT is $12.50 plus tax. I wanted to pay for it right away since our meal is already taken care of but the CM told me that they couldn't take credit card information over the phone.

By the way this was my second call from Disney today and I still haven't heard "Have a Magical Day" It's one of the things I look forward to when talking to a CM. :sad1:

To be on the safe side, I suggest you call back at least 48 hours before you want the cakes to make sure they still have your order. Everything I've seen/heard (from the CM's, on these boards and at other boards), cake orders should be made between 48 hours and 2 weeks prior. Making a cake request this far out gives them more time to lose it because it's not on their immediate radar.

I ordered a cake for my niece's b-day back in May and I ordered that cake in December 06. I did not have a problem, because I always double-check everything before arrival. :) Believe me, I plan to speak with Linda or GF Bakery several times before December 15th. :)

We will be celebrating my son's 12th birthday at Disney in a couple of weeks and I would like to order a cake for him. I would like something with a baseball theme. We are having dinner the first night at Ohana, should I plan it there or would I be better off waiting until our reservation at Gf Cafe' the next week? We are also staying at the Contemporary so delivery to the room is possible. I'd like to have it the first night so I'm leaning toward Ohana but do you think we will get a better cake if we wait to get if from the GF?

So I just ordered a surprise cake for our rehearsal dinner at O'hana's on Sept. 21. We're getting married in Disney!! I got a chocolate cake with the peanut butter cup mousse (dark chocolate and peanut butter mixed) covered in chocolate ganache. The 2 ladies I spoke with at the Polynesian had never heard about peanut butter mousse, but she asked the chef while I was on the phone and he said no problem. I've heard it is yummy, so I can't wait!

That sounds Divine!!
I wonder if they are doing special just for you or if they would do it for anyone?
How big is your cake? Cost? Just trying to get ideas. Thanks!

Hi, we're going to disney in 9 days :yay:

Sept 11th is our 25th anniversary. We have reservations at Narcoossee's on the 11th before going on the wishes cruise. Yesterday I called GF private dining and forgot to ask for Linda. That might be my mistake. The CM i spoke with was very nice. I explained that i wanted to order a cake to be delivered to the dock at 8pm for a wishes cruise.

Ordered a 10" chocolate cake with strawberries/custard filling and buttercream icing. (Later I asked DH what he would have ordered and it was exactly the same except he wants yellow cake, not chocolate.) After 25 years, you'd think i'd know :rotfl:

Anyway, I explained that I wanted to keep the decoration simple, just a single peach rose and "happy 25th anniversary, Cynthia and Kieran". Something like Cake 20B.

At first she thought I meant i wanted real roses on the cake. When I explained I meant icing, she told me the cake would be covered in roses and i explained that I preferred took keep it simple - maybe just 1-2 peach roses. Had a feeling that she wasn't sure what I meant when I said "peach".

I'm just not sure she understood me. :sad2: Anyway, she took my credit card but never asked for my reservation number at either Narcoossee or the cruise. And I didn't get a confirmation number. :confused3

I guess I'm wondering whether I should call back and ask for Linda. I'm worried that we're going to get to the dock and there will be no cake. Don't plan on ever celebrating another 25 years so I want this one to be perfect. One last question - is there a DDE discount that I should have mentioned?

Sorry for the long post but if you have any advice, i'd really appreciate it.

How decadently yummy that sounds! Please post pics and review when you return, k? If my youngest wasn't still too little to try peanut butter, I'd be trying to change our order!

2 questions:

Do they have a Birthday Brownie?

Are the cupcakes I've been seeing for Birthdays free or do you have to order those as well?

Thanks!:goodvibes

Cynthia: We just returned this evening from WDW and we had my birthday dinner at Narcoossee's. It was WONDERFUL. We really loved everything about our dinner. I had ordered the mini castle cake and I didn't talk to Linda, didn't get a confirmation #, and everything was perfect. I just mentioned the cake when we checked in for dinner and it was delivered along with our desserts (on the DDP so we didn't want to skip the regular desserts)! Congrats on your 25th (we celebrated ours 3 years ago). It is quite the accomplishment to be married 25 years anymore!

It's a half sheet cake and they quoted me $80 plus tax and gratuity. I don't think it's that bad. I think they would do it for anyone, because I just called and asked about it and they told me yes before I told her I was getting married.

snowdrift7, based on reading most of this thread, if I were you, I would definitely call closer to your date, ask for Linda (or another CM who was as helpful to other DISers on the GF private dining phone line) and re-confirm your order. Too many on here have reported their cakes being lost of made incorrectly. Your 25th anniv. is too special to mess up!!

where do you get the #'s of the cakes offered at GF?

The number that the other poster is refering to is the number that was assigned to it early on in this thread. (See the first few pages.) The numbers have nothing to do with the actual ordering of the cake and GF wouldn't have any idea what you were talking about if you said you wanted cake 20F.

Thank you to everyone for the information on here. I ordered two cakes yesterday, 1 to be delivered to Boma for my boyfriends birthday and one to collect from the Boardwalk Bakery.

I spoke to Dolores at Boma (using the numbers on the first page) and got the 6" standard cake which she said they would put Happy Birthday Tim on for me. I've also got some candles that spell his name and she said they would be happy to put these on if I handed them in when we checked in. It was $12.50 and I was told it would be added to the cost of the meal.

The other is a 10" vanilla with strawberries and custard and buttercream top. It is for my friends little girl and my boyfriend (they are both celebrating their birthdays and we have a Wishes cruise booked) so trying to get a theme for them both was difficult. I spoke to Joyce and asked her to do something 'very Disney' so we'll see what we get! She quoted me $40 and took my credit card number.

Joyce said that they didn't customise the 8" cake but gave me a lot of options for the 10", including chocolate, vanilla, fruit mousse, whipped cream topping etc. She also said that they could give me 2 boxes so that we could split it between the families and all take some back with us.

I will take the advice and call a couple of days ahead to double-check that they have got the order and haven't forgotten us.

I wouldn't have known about the cakes if it wasn't for this thread so thank you. I'll post pictures when we get back :thumbsup2

To those on the dining plan, how do you handle ordering a cake and have a dessert as part of your meal? We are eating at Narcoosee's and I am ordering a mini wedding cake, but wonder if I will feel like a pig with a cake AND desserts! (of course my left over cake is coming back to the hotel room with me)...

Depends on how much you like Desserts ! :)
We were on the DDP 2 years ago and I made arrangements to have a Mickey shaped cake delivered to our room after dinner. We were with another family and I told them ahead of time about the cake. I was so anxious to get back to the room. It was our first night and we were in Epcot. My husband was drooling for dessert and I somehow managed to avoid ordering it.
I still hear about the 'missed' dessert 2 years later.

If you really want some yummy dessert on the menu, order it. You can always split something.

We were at Narcoossee's last week for my birthday. We were on the DDP and I also had the mini castle cake. We ate our dessert and had them box the cake up to go. We went back to MK for the evening fireworks and since we had rented a locker for the day we were able to put the cake in the locker until we went back to the hotel. The locker room is air conditioned so the cake was fine while we were in the park. It worked out very well. We enjoyed the cake the next evening.

Can you please tell me how much this cake is? I'm sure it's listed somewhere, but though it'd be easier to ask.

Thanks!
