We got this at the Garden View Tea Room, it was the vanilla with white chocolate mousse flavor and it was delicious. Only $25, plus tax and tip, in Sept when we got it but from what I hear it's more now.

For the people that have gotten more than 1 special birthday treat from their ADR's - do you get them all on the same day? Like a PP said their DS got a extra special dessert from Boma's and PT that was not a special order. Or say - the birthday is on Monday and for your ADR on Saturday they get a special treat too? Just because the birthday is coming up?

Did that make any sense?!? :confused3

if dd wore her birthday button, each venue usually did something special for her. got cupcakes with candle at several places; some places that had characters in AM but we went in PM would have al; the "characters" sign a birthday card. some places gave a special cool dessert, but as we were on the Deluxe dining plan it was a lot of dessert!! so for Thanksgiving we started refusing the desserts...21 desserts (3X day) were just too much! Hoop de Do and Tony's Town Square announced the birthday to the whole place...we didn't get any special dessert at HDeD. each place is different!

They have their own bakeries but they all have similar offerings except GF is a bit more fancy. The mickey head cake I got at CM was choc and it was great!

Ok - so they get a birthday button starting the first day you are there? Not just the acutal birthday day? We aren't on the dining plan but do have 3 sit down ressies made for different days. Thanks so much!

you usually get it when you check in, or you can go to Guest Services and get a button anytime at any park. this is great especially since she lost hers several times Now, this year 2009 they require a child's birth certificate to get the gift card or park admission.

the button is nice but at any time you see hundreds of "1st Visit", "Just Married", "Happy Birthday" pins. the cast members are good about saying "Happy Birthday Princess" to dd when they see the button. We would get random magic moments (a free pin trade was one) because it was her birthday.

this is the 3rd year we went to Disney over dd's birthday. as we did Deluxe Dining, at times I would encourage her to take off her pin because it became too much with 2 cakes we bought for her and the numerous meals we scheduled. She liked being pushed around on her chair at Tony's and having her birthday announced more than the actual dessert she received....and I think she got picked to be a princess for Beauty and the Beast because they saw her pin...it seems like it could be abused especially if you are there a long time. but even she got weary of the constant celebration this year..

We are going to WDW in 3 months and will be celebrating all 6 of our birthdays (they fall within 8 weeks of each other) and will be there for one of my DD's real birthdays. We plan to celebrate a person's birthday at each of our table service meals. So, since dessert already comes, should I order anything special, or will they put a candle on the dessert that we order with our meal?

And can someone tell me about the slipper dessert at CRT? We are going there for a late breakfast on my DD actual birthday.

Hi, we are staying at AKL in May 2009 for our third anniversary. What could I have delivered to the room on our anniversary night? It will just be DH, myself and DS (will only be 2). I don't want strawberries. I would prefer a cake we could snack on the rest of the week or a special dessert. Maybe even zebra domes? At the most, I'm willing to pay $50. Any ideas would be great.

For our Honeymoon I surprised my husband with a cake at Ohana that was egg-free because I'm allergic to eggs. They brought it out when he stepped away to the restroom.

It looked much better than it tasted. I was sad that it didn't have a good flavor but Larry seemed to enjoy it so I didn't complain.

i have not made adrs yet going in june it will be 6 of us . where is the best place to eat and get the best bday cake for dh. any help thank you

I celebrated my birthday last Monday night at Spoodles. I had a 10” vanilla cake with (I guess is it ganache?) icing and strawberry mousse filling. The cake was very good. It was from the Boardwalk Bakery. I decided that I didn’t want buttercream icing; I worried that it would be too sweet and filling after having already been on a Disney diet for a week. They lowered the lights and the servers brought it out to me singing Happy Birthday. I had also ordered 8 chocolate covered strawberries – one for each of us. Those were on a side plate and weren’t decorating the cake.

I know there are choices of cake, filling and icing for 10" cakes, but what about for 8"? We would like something special for our 25th Anniversary celebration, but we are just a party of 5. I thought the smaller cakes only came with two choices. Anyone have any info?

TIA

How fancy will they create the decor on a small 8 or 10" cake? Anyone have pictures or ideas? We are celebrating our 25th with our adult children next week!:cool1:

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
TIA

It does look very good. What was not good about it? I know my dn can't have milk or eggs and his cakes do seem to be just a little off. They are not bad, just not what I am expecting when I bite in to a cake.

I turn 40 at WDW on the 11th. Is it tacky to order your own birthday cake? I'm a simple yellow cake with chocolate icing person, but do love buttercream icing:) It will just be my husband and I, don't know which cake to order? Also, if we don't eat it all, will they "pack it up" for us? We will probably be going back into the MK after we eat, so where could it be stored?

We will be having dinner at Artist Point, can a cake be delivered there? Or should it be sent to the room? We are staying at All Star Sports. If I send one to the room, and we are not back until late ( like midnight) will it be at the front desk, or brought to my room and waiting for us to eat when we are done enjoying the MK?

Do you mind telling me how much this beautiful cake cost you? It looks just what I am looking for.

I posted this way back on page 16 -
We stayed at AKL in May and I called the resort directly and spoke with In-Room Dining prior to our arrival. I gave them our check-in date and a rough estimate as to the time (not sure that they needed that) and was told that after we checked in they would be notified by the front-desk and our goodies would arrive shortly thereafter. We checked in, got up to the room and then within 15 minutes we got a call to see if we were going to be there for the delivery. If you do this they can put the charge on your resort bill and have you sign for it when they deliver it. Be forewarned that they will have already added a 18% "delivery" charge to the cost of your goodies so if you don't read the receipt you might be tipping twice.

This was what we had delivered:

It is perfectly fine to order your own birthday cake!!!! With so many options the cake hotline can help you pick a cake, you just first need to decide where you want to eat it. From our experience with cakes they will box up the leftover cake but most places will not store the cake for you. We had a 10" cake at WCC, for my FIL's birthday and with four adults and two kids eating on it we still had a ton left over and more than half a cake got boxed up. I believe that if you want one sent to your room they will call to verify that you will be there at a certain time and then deliver it - at least that was our experience with the AKL goodies shown above.

This was our WCC cake -
