Has anyone had a cake delivered to an All Star room? We are staying at All Star Sports. We will probablybe at the parks, but would love to come home to some cake

The Poly bakery can make almost any cake you want, our family ordered 2 BD cakes for Spirit of Aloha dinner show ~ pls see pg 119/post 1778. Sorry the pix are not better, it was very dark at dinner. They were large enough to feed an Army and our family of 17 only ate 1/2 the 10" and none of the MM till next few days! Thankfully Poly boxed it all up for us. If you don't want any left overs, I'd suggest the 8" will be plenty. You can order from Poly # on front pg of this thread.

Hope you have a blast on your 'Wishes' cruise! We did the 'Wishes' Grand 1 Yacht cruise from the Poly and it was definitely one of the high lites of our grand gathering Thanksgiving tirp we will never forget! Best wishes and have fun!

Other than the Mickey Mouse Cake, What kind of designs have people seen for guys? Obviously flowers and foo foo isn't going to go over well for DH! LOL (and he's not a big fan of chocolate, so that makes it harder since most guys cakes are brown/chocolate.)

DD 9th birthday at 1900 park fare 12/29 - It tasted and looked wonderful - She clearly loved it - I just wish two things -

1 - I wish they would have let me make the cake smaller - so much went to waste - I would have been happy to pay the same for a smaller cake.

2 - I wish I made the color clear - I really wanted a green / garden fairy type cake.

What a beautiful cake!! The flowers are amazing! Disney really did a great job!

We celebrated my birthday at 1900 Park Fare on Monday December 15, 2008. My husband ordered a cake for me (with my prodding and cake ideas) and our server brought out this ginormous 10" cake! Even with 4 adults and 2 kids eating it, it was way way too much cake.

It was beautiful though, I wanted to cry. It was outstanding confectionary work, IMO. White chocolate Cinderella slipper with truffles inside and sugar roses that were decorated with an iridescent pixie dust! Even the flower petals were sugar!! Then on the sides there were mickey sprinkles, buttercream roses and more hard sugar roses in purple. It was so beautiful I didn't want to eat it! It was a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream.

When we got a cake for my son's birthday last year I noticed that the "buttercream" really wasn't buttercream but shortening and sugar, with no hint of butter to be found and I really didn't care for it. Dh asked that the buttercream be less shortening and more butter but they said they couldn't accommodate that as its mixed in huge vats and is the same for all of them. He also asked for the cake to be *only* two layers of cake with ONE layer of icing to avoid being overloaded on the icing but they seemed to either have forgotten that request or did not do it for whatever reason. The last pic shows the layers, there was another layer of cake on top of that piece, but I had eaten it already!

Nonetheless it was gorgeous !!! As for the taste, eh, it was ok. It wasn't the best tasting cake I ever had unfortunately. I wish they'd improve the cake and the buttercream flavor. Oh well what can you do, it was a nice cake and we had a good time! We paid $95.00 for it, and I think that included the 18%.

It's a pretty cake...sorry you didn't like the taste.

Are there any pictures of the strawberries and Mickey that people have mentioned? I'm trying to come up with something special for DH and I (only), so something very small would be best.

This is what I ordered to be delivered to our room at the BWV a couple of years ago. It was $50. About $25 for Mickey and $20 for the strawberries and the rest was taxes/fees.

After reading almost all of the thread, I just want to make sure I did everything right....

Three of us will celebrate DH's birthday later this month. I have ADRs for LTT. I called the Bakery line today and chose the MK line.

I requested the 6 inch cake- chocolate with chocolate. I then wanted to add fresh strawberries or something and she said I could not do that. I only have a choice of Happy Birthday written on it or a Mickey photo. That was it.

Is it because of the restaurant?

Any ideas?

I guess I need to call the cake hot line back (Cali Grill) they just quoted me $50 for the "hand painted" - white chocolate Micky and $30 for the tux strawberries. OMG WHAT I was ok paying $50 but $80...I don't think so. Needless to say I will def. be calling them in the morning.

Let us know if that is the new price. I was thinking of this or the Cinderella cake topper and strawberries, but I don't want this to be equal to my whole food budget!

Very excited - I've managed to get the order sorted for DBFs 30th Birthday next week - a Mad Hatter cake!! Will post pics when we're home from the trip!

I do have another Q though - we're meeting with a very dear friend the same week who has invited us to her Birthday at CP in MK - we want to get a cake for her - calling the cake hotline is a nightmare for me being in the UK with costs, and we want more than the "podium" request. We're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge - will we be able to order a cake there to take with us?

They charge extra for the hand painted part! Maybe just get the regular white chocolate mickey?

We will be staying at the BCV so does the BW bakery make this too or only the GF bakery? If I can order it at the BW bakery, can I pick it up or does it have to be delivered to a restaurant on the BW?

Ok just called back - And got yet another price quote.

Chocolate Mickey is $45 and each tux strawberry is $5.00...They no longer do the non painted Mickey's. This is quite a bummer I don't think it's really worth either of those prices.

Wow, that's a huge increase in price!!!

I paid $25 for the chocolate Mickey in the photo in my other post (about 11 posts up) in 2004 at the BWV and then we also picked up a chocolate Donald (Gold painted) at the GF Gingerbread House store in 2005 for only $18. See the photo below.

When we stayed at the All Star Movies last March. my husband ordered a cake from the food court. I would call the cake line for more info.

Yes - the MK restaurants have very limited options because (someone posted here) there is no bakery in the MK that makes cakes for the restaurants. Epcot and the other parks have their own bakeries, so there are more cake options.

OR it could be she thought you wanted the "podium cake" that you can ask for at the restaurant podium when you get there. It's frozen and only comes in choc/choc or vanilla/vanilla, and you can't customize it.

This post has all the info you need.

The mini castle cake is only available at the GF although a few people have reported being able to order one at the Boardwalk Bakery but that is inconsistant. You can call the Boardwalk Bakery and find out.

The mini castle cake price went up to $30. A huge part of the cost is the white chocolate castle one top ($15). So you can probably get a regular cake (8' or 10') for the same cost or just a bit more.

The mini castle cake is meant to be for one person but 2 can easily share it.

They are mass produced and the flavor choices are:

chocolate cake with dark chocolate mousse
yellow cake with white chocolate mousse
cheesecake

Thank you Carrie, but can I get the mini cake without the castle? I am looking for a mini 3 tiered cake like the ones available for weddings. If I can only get the one with the castle on top can the cake colors be customized or is it only a white cake with a white chocolate castle?

You would have to call them and describe what you are looking for. I'll bet the GF can do that if you get the right person to help you.

No, you cannot customize the mini castle cakes. They are mass produced.
