Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread Part II

On the first page there is a list of GF cake and filling flavors for wedding cakes. Anyone had any luck ordering one of the more exotic fillings in a regular celebratory cake? I am especially interested in the peanut butter cup mousse filling. I realize that it would have to be a 10 inch. Thanks!

I was able to order peanut butter mousse in an 8 inch chocolate cake at the GF in August. I called and said "I would like to order...." and after a few calls back and forth about decoration and price it was done. Mostly easy if you ask for what you want. They won't offer at all. (and if you ask what fillings they offer you will not be told the wedding ones...if you ask for one they seem to be fine doing it though. Odd!)

I just called the cake hot line but it seems as though you can only order them at the parks. Earlier I saw a picture of a beautiful cake which was delivered to someones room but that option is not available. Does anyone know how to go about ordering a cake (actually prob just the Micky with the tux strawberries) and have it delivered to our room.

Thanks to anyone who can help. :woohoo:

You need to call private dining (room service) at the resort where you will be staying.

can anyone tell how the cakes are at hollywood& vine. going in june 2009 i would love to get a b day cake for hubby on our 1st night there and we are eating at h&v but we are staying at ssr.it will be 6 of us iwas thinking about the 10 in. what do you think

I had arranged a Celebration Wishes Cruise for DS's 11th bday on 12/3 leaving from WL. I arranged for 10" Yellow cake with chocolate buttercream filling and frosting. It was $45 and wonderful but SO big. I also ordered coffee, tea, hot chocolate and milk which was all delivered to the boat with plates, plasticware, cups, etc. Plus a box to bring cake back to hotel. Here it is:

Plus at Boma and 50's PT he got free special desserts.

"Aunt Sue" had the whole section sing "Happy Birthday" to him.

I don't believe Saratoga Springs has room service do they?
I know I've read of people getting cakes delivered to SSR. I *think* they were made by the Boardwalk Bakery and had to be picked up at SSR's restaurant. They would not deliver them to the room, but they would deliver them to the resort.

I really really want to order a Mad Hatter cake - just a small single layer one - how on earth do I do this without calling - from the UK a call to the US will break the bank!!

And can this be done - the cake that is?

You can't - get Skype, it costs 1p/minute to call anywhere in the world.

I've seen them done by the GF Bakery, so you'd need to either be staying at the GF or dining at one of their restaurants to get it, I think. I'm not sure how to contact them other than making a phone call, sorry. Maybe someone else will know. :goodvibes

That's what I thought and we have breakfast at 1900 Park fare on his actual birthday - hence the requirement for a good cake!!

Can I order the cake in person? I arrive on the 13th (early evening) and his 30th birthday is on the 16th....

Thank you for the replies by the way - appreciated!

What cake is best for four people. I was going to go with the $42 dollar cake, but I think it will be to big.

Has anyone ever had one of these characters put on to a cake?? :confused3

Koda From Brother Bear
Baloo
OR
Pooh Bear??

We re wanting to get my mum a cake made to say thankyou for flying out for our wedding in May. She is a "Bear Lover" so i know if we could get something with a design showing one of these characters she would totally love it

They cannot use Pooh images as it is a copy righted image not owned by Disney. Weird, huh.

Just returned today. Tried to order the Mickey head cake before our trip and played phone tag with Chef Mickey's for days before our trip and then just gave up. Ordered the cake at the podium, awful! I cannot stress it enough, it was terrible. And I love cake so it has to be bad for me not to stomach it! The entire thing went to waste, please save your money! Then we went back to CM's later in the week and they gave DS the cupcake for free, ugh, I should've done that the first time and saved myself $21!!!

We also got the birthday cupcakes and characters to sing at Crystal Palace, Cape May and Chef Mickey's (I think that was all...). DS also got a birthday sundae at Coral Reef. I'll post pics later, need to unpack! :rotfl:

I called today to order a cake for Cali Grill. I specifically said I didn't want the one you can order there. They still quoted me $21 and said I could pick chocolate or vanilla and they could write Happy Birthday Andy on it. Does that sound right? I thought they wouldn't write on the small ones???

I was there this past September celebrating my sons 3rd birthday and we had a 6 inch chocolate cake with chocolate frosting delivered to the room. The cake was very moist and the frosting was really good too! We are going in January and I plan on ordering another one but this time for my husbands birthday.

Hi,

Can you tell me who you called to order that cake? My husband's birthday is in March and I would like to have something delivered to the room. Also, if you wouldn't mind telling me how much it cost? Thanks so much.:)

Back from our wonderful Thanksgiving grand gathering, making lots of special memories, and want to take time to post the different cakes that were ordered for our birthday celebrations. So many here offered advise and pics that helped and I want to return the favor. :goodvibes

This cake was ordered via Publix ($22) for our GS's BD's. Seventeen of us had dinner at DTD Rainforest Cafe our first night and they don't offer cakes. It was marble w/chocolate frosting, very moist and most delicious!
It was so large we gave half to the table guests next to us. They were most appreciate. :goodvibes

This is one of the three Cinderella Slippers ($12.50pp) we surprised our 3 adult princess: princess: princess: DD's at our CRT luncheon, for no reason, other than they are so special to us :lovestruc! The looks on their faces were Priceless!!
Sorry about poor quality of pics.

Our children surprised me with this cake for my Birthday celebration at the 'Spirit of Aloha' dinner at Poly. It was 10" ~ came w/candle, delicious yellow cake w/butter crm icing, layered w/yummy custard & strawberries. :cloud9:

We also celebrated dear SonIL's BD same night at Poly w/a MM cake. It was a delicious chocolate cake w/chocolate ganache icing. Not only a cool cake, but very yummy!! :goodvibes

It was s lot of cake and Poly was kind enough to box up left over cake, as our dinner was followed by our exciting Grand 1 Yacht 'Wishes' Birthday cruise! But we indeed enjoyed our cake for few days to come!!! :goodvibes

:grouphug: Wishing everyone a Merry C'mas and hope your New Year is full of many blessings.

It's getting late and I can't get through all the pages tonight so I'm sorry if this had been asked before, but is there a way to order an ice cream cake? My DS doesn't like cake or cupcakes (didn't get that from me!) but loves ice cream cakes (he did get that from me)!

The Contemporary has its own bakery, right? They do have weddings there, so do they do the cake or is it done at another bakery and brought over?

There seems to be very little about cakes at Contemporary restaurants. I'm trying to figure out what kind of cake I might be able to order.

Anybody order a cake from the Wave?

I've spent three days going through this thread and I don't think I saw it mentioned and the Wave is not on the first page.

Thanks for any insight!
