Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread Part II

Anyone else excited about the new cakes to be offered in 2009? Hopefully they have realised what big business is out there and the problems often posted on this thread will be a thing of the past.

I wondered if anyone could help me. I have just tried to use the email address posted on the first thread to contact disney about having a design put on a birthday cake I would like for my son's birthday, and it has came back as a failed delivery. So I wondered if anyone had another email address for them at all?

Just wanted to let everyone know my cake experiences from last week. I ordered several and will post pictures tomorrow, but here are thoughts:

1) Bday cake for Mom. Minnie Head from Poly InRoom, delivered to room right when they were supposed to. It was a Mickey head with a cute foundant bow and some eyelashes. Plate had Mom's name on it. Called to confirm 4 days out.

2) Bday slipper for Mom at CRT. It was beautiful, they wrote Mom's name and age (78) on the plate. Server brought it out after meal, never reminded anyone.

3) Bday cake for Son. 8" White Cake/White Choc Mousse/Buttercream Icing, from Poly in room, delivered to room right when they were supposed to. I had asked for Star Wars when I called and the woman said they would do their best. Cake had 4 Star Wars FIGURINES on it AND they only charged me for the basic 8". It was perfect. Called to confirm 4 days out.

4) Mini Castle cake from Narcoosses's for parents anniversary. Restaurant had personalized anniversary menus for my folks and put anniversary chocolate on dessert, but we NEVER got the cake. I didn't say anything because frankly we were on DlxDP for 8 days and by day 6 we didn't really need an add'l cake. Parents didn't know, so no big loss. This is the one that I didn't call to confirm.

So in summary-Poly In room gets the big thumbs up!

WOW Personalized anniversary menus!? We did this at the Coral Reef and thought it was wonderful, do they do this at 1900 Park Fare?

We are visiting Disney in July 2009 for our anniversary...I am interested in the Celebration Vacation desserts and decorated cakes...I would love some more information on these special cakes....

I also wonder what the "My Mini Cake Surprise" is all about...I am sure it is for an individual and will not be big enough for my family of four...Or at least that is what I am guessing...

Does anyone out there have any information? Thank you in advance!

I actually just read about the mini cake on the Dinsney website...It does not look like it would work for an anniversary...Likely just going with a special order cake from the GF like we planned.

This has probably been asked, but I can't find it right now. We have some friends honeymooning next week at the WL and we would like to have some chocolate covered strawberries delivered to their room after they arrive. Is that possible at WL or just at the GF? I guess we could do a cake if they're not available, but the strawberries so much more honey-mooney

I ordered this cake from SSR but the Boardwalk Bakery made it and delivered it to SSR for me to pick it up. Total cost $70.

I called WL's in-room dining a few weeks ago and asked about the strawberries - they said they don't do them anymore. Now they have a cookie plate (tres romantic! ) and I think a truffle box or something like that - just call the main number and ask to speak to someone in In-Room Dining. They'll tell you what's available.

They do bring a cupcake to the table with a small chocolate mickey on it with a candle.

IIR, there are no menus at 1900 Park Faire. It's a buffet.

It was one of the best cakes we've had. It was chocolate on chocolate with white chocolate moose filling. Very Good. I called SSR directly. The number is 407-827-4005.
