I have been trying to get this right. I believe Crystal Palace Doesn't offer Cakes (could be wrong), but 1900 Park Fare would be perfect because it's in the Grand Floridian which offer amazing cakes.

ALL Disney restaurants offer cakes. :) It's just that Crystal Palace doesn't have the selection of flavors and styles that Grand Floridian restaurants do.

We have been trying to get res for Dec 13th at 1900 Park Fare so I can order a cake. :) Plus we get the monorail ride which is nice. I want cake everywhere, but DS's bday party is the weekend before we leave. We are going to be caked out!

Thanks! I think you got it right...1900 PF I guess it is. I hope they have something unique that seems like it was created just for DS! ;)

When you call the cake hotline, how do you pay? Do you pay for the cake when you get there and just have it added onto your bill? Or do you have to give a credit card over the phone and pay when you call?

The cakes and special desserts (mini castle, slipper) are added to your bill. I was asked for a cc # for GF and Boma, just in case of a no show I guess. You have plenty of time to cancel if you have too. I had to cancel Boma's and a cake due to illness and it was only an hour prior to our ADR. Hope this helps.:goodvibes

Hi Everyone,

Alright - we have ressie's for dinner @ Chef Mickey's at the beginning of our trip. I would like to celebrate DD's 12th birthday at this dinner. My question is, would you order a cake from Chef Mickey's? Or would you order one from say The Bakery on The Boardwalk and pick it up? I have read thru these boards :surfweb: and have not heard a lot of great reviews from the cakes at Chef Mickey's. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated!

Annnnnd....from what I understand, unless you are staying at the GF you can not order cakes from there to pick up? Do I understand that right?

Thanks everyone!! This time next month we will be there!!! :cool1:

Seems like people have been quite disapointed with their cakes from Chef Mickey´s lately. I think you can still get the Grand Floridien to deliver cakes, but for a $75 delivery fee

Good luck, whatever you decide.

Last year I had a birthday cake put in the room for us while we were gone at the Poly. This year we're doing a split stay at saratoga and GF. I'd like to have a cake delivered while we're there and left in the room again. Does anyone know if they'll do that at Saratoga, being a dvc resort, and not a hotel? Thanks!

Call the front desk at 1-407-827-1100. They will probably put you in touch with the pastry chef at the restaurant there (the Turf Club) and you can make arrangements to have it in your room.

Has anyone had any MLB sports themed cakes made? My husband is a big LA Dodgers fan and I would love to have a cake made decorated for his team, any suggestions or pics??

we are celabrating my niece's birthday. Can we get a birthday cake and where do you order it from.
Thanks

Has anyone ordered a custom cake from or to be delivered to California Grill? We are going there to celebrate in-laws 50th anniv. and would like to have the small cake with the castle on top delivered there.

I haven't read this whole thread so forgive me if pics have been shown to answer my question ... my daughter will be having her 11th b'day party when we're in WDW and i am wondering if the bakery does anything with HSM or Hannah Montana???

Thanks

We are going to be at Le Cellier for lunch, so I really don't want the cake there. Staying at POFQ, so I was thinking of having the cake delivered there, or I am wondering about this, we are having dinner at Fulton's the night before, will any of the bakeries deliver cakes there?

I wish I could say I had a positive experience with the cakes. =\

See, first I thought that you could order a 6" custom cake for Narcoosee's. We couldn't. =\ I wanted whipped cream frosting, raspberry mousse filling and yellow cake....

Instead all my fiancee could order (this was for my birthday) was buttercream frosting and yellow cake. Which would have been fine, I guess, but the cake was delivered to our table stale, as if it had been sitting in a fridge all day. Now, granted, our dinner was last night at 9pm, but still...I've made myself cake from that cheap stuff in the box and it tasted way better (and stayed moist for much longer) than what my fiancee and I were served.

We called the waiter over to tell him out issue with the cake to ask if we could order a replacement cake or just be comp'd for it. He called the manager over and we explained our problem with the cake and though he said, "That's not something we generally hear about our cakes." We assured him we weren't trying to be difficult - we had a beautiful experience at the restaurant...it's just the cake left a weird taste in our mouth and it was grainy. Not only that, when we cut into the cake, it didn't feel fluffy at all. It felt somewhat stiff.

He graciously took the charge for the cake off our bill and that was really nice....

But I haven't had cake in a little over a year and I was kinda looking forward to it. =\

Is this a common problem with 6" cakes? My fiancee and I are getting married soon and we were going to order a small wedding cake (not a multi-tier) to eat at Jiko's the night of our marriage. Is there a way to avoid the same problem?

I am looking for something for DH for being such a terriffic guy!:lovestruc He works 6 days a week so I can stay home with our Badookie (16months) and also is taking us on our second trip this year!!!!

I wanted something small like the glass slipper dessert but for a man.Any ideas or has anyone done anything like this? Please post pictures of dessert or cake you got. TIA you guys are super duper!!!!:goodvibes

Okay I'm so excited! I ordered our cake today! Talked to Linda at the GF who was super nice! Going to be a surprise for my DH for our 1-year anniversary..... I got it for our dinner at 1900 Park Fare, 8-inch, chocolate cake with dark chocolate mousse (my DH LOVES dark chocolate), and since he is a huge dodgers fan, I asked if she could do something with Dodgers..... she said there was a logo she could put on there! And it will also say happy 1st anniversary! I can't WAIT to see how it looks and since I have heard such good things about the GF cakes, I'm sure they will do a great job! The cost wasn't as bad as I expected either! $32 for cake plus $15 extra for Dodger logo! Well worth it! The only thing is it is just the 2 of us eating it and we are going straight to MNSSHP after dinner! We are going early October..... do you know if they will let you leave the cake at the GF somewhere in refrigerator to keep cold?? Or would it be okay in our car since it will be 7pm when we are getting out of there? I hate to see the cake go to waste and I don't want to run back to CSR from GF when we are going to MNSSHP right next door!

No, they won't hold the cake for you. Also, it's still pretty hot and humid still in October so I don't think it will keep in your car.

We also got a birthday cake at our dinner before MVMCP and just left it and asked them to share it with our neighbors.

There aren't many options if you aren't at your resort or heading there any time soon.

The cake sounds great! :thumbsup2

I have a suggestion:

It sounds like you will be driving so...Why not bring a cooler and keep your cake in that. You could ask them to wrap the box extra well in plastic wrap (maybe even bring a small trash bag (clean of course:) ) to prevent the box from geting wet as the ice melts. You could keep it on ice or some frozen gel packs.

I also like the idea of sharing:goodvibes .

BTW Happy Anniversary! Sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate.

Look on the first page of the thread. There is a number for the cake hotline. You will work your way through all of the prompts and order from them. There may also be a number for Tusker House direct.
