** Official August 2024 Thread **

We have a reservation for a 1 BR at BWV for Aug. 26 - 28 in hopes of scoring tix to Moonlight Magic at HS. If not DW has reservations about experiencing the surface of the sun.
Have you ever gone to WDW during the summer before?

Oh yes. We were at VGF two weeks ago. We also have reservations for Riv in Nov for Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine classic, which we love, and CCV in December because it is Wilderness Lodge at Christmas. With this schedule DW would be OK staying out for this one. Unless, of course, we get Moonlight Magic!

Skorts are my bottom of choice followed by flutter shorts. If you are not familiar invest in some anti-chaf products…body glide and gold bond are good but by far the best is by monistat. You will not regret the purchase and it makes all manner of clothing more bearable

I forgot about Halloween. Last year we had Cars T shirts for one party and Barbie & Ken(s) for the other parties. Without my daughter to nag the boys, I don't know if they'll agree to "dress up"

I'm looked this up, but what I find is a gel. Is this it?

Monistat Care Feminine Chafing Relief Powder Gel, Anti-Chafe Protection

I'm going to try it. Do you think 1 box is enough for 1 person, 9 days?

Yeah should be

I'm returning to WDW for the first time since 2018!! (Technically I went to Disneyland Paris in 2022 though, so I've had a chance to get some magic) Me and my mom will be there Aug 12-15 and will be going to MNSSHP for the first time!! I'm excited
You will love the party! We have only gone once but it was terrific. We had candy for months lol. We had it in our carry on luggage going through airport security on our way home and they pulled us over to check our bags. We were fine, but I think they were shocked at how much candy we had. We were really just focused on rides at the party, but they give out such generous scoops of candy! Have fun!

I wear skorts or biker shorts and rotate between t-shirts and athletic tops. I know I will change outfits when we go back to our hotel for a mid day break - we have a couple of nicer dinners so I will pack a couple of dresses.

I want to start getting organized for our trip and start packing but I am also starting to organize all the things for our daughters dorm room and move to college and I am getting a little more overwhelmed every day. I will be very grateful for a beverage at Animal Kingdom Lodge upon arrival.

Add me to the skorts group. :) Skorts are comfortable and versatile. I have a set of lightweight shirts that I save for "sweaty" occasions. I also wear a hat when it is sunny. :)

Less than 2 weeks out. Excited and apprehensive. We haven’t been since Genie+ was implemented so no loss for me there. I was very familiar with FP and pre booking, of
course it was free. We have 10 park days, adding multipass every day for four will most likely not be in the budget so trying to plan that. I figure at least one day at Epcot (cause Remy is new for most of us) and MK for Tiana. Anxiously waiting on the 24th for more info. Then I’ll have to cram cause my 7 days out will be the 26th.

we don’t go until the 16th, so we have a little time to see how roll out goes. We won’t be purchasing it for each park day either. I’m thinking we will do it for just MK and HS. Going to use early entry for Animal Kingdom to hopefully accomplish what we want there, and use the deluxe evening hours at Epcot to ride Remy. Our last trip we did early entry from beach club and were able to get right on Remy from the international gateway entrance, but this time we would have to enter from the main gate so I’m guessing by the time we get to the back of the park it will have a bit of a wait.

My new favorite thing to do is just watch the wait times in the morning.

Hello everyone ! My husband and I finalized our August trip. It will be the first time we visit without our daughter, who will be starting her freshman year of college. We are bringing her to West Virginia University and driving from there to WDW for a week before going back home. Planning for this trip has been very bittersweet because we are also doing the college drop off planning but we are excited to do a trip for just the 2 of us. We are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge and looking forward to hitting some lounges and enjoying getting time together in our favorite place !
I know this post is old but I am just now finding this thread for our August 2024 trip 😂, but just wanted to wish your daughter good luck! My son will be starting his senior year at West Virginia University this semester 💙💛

Hi all! I'm a little late to the party but was checking around the boards to try and get more info about the new lighting lane system and found this Thread. Our family mom, dad and 2 sons (20 & 16) will be heading back to Florida from 8/2-8/14. We will be at Indian Rocks Beach for a week before we check in to Pop Century from 8/9-8/14 with the free QS dining plan. We have 2 Halloween parties booked and we are so excited to share it with the boys! I am a massive planner so heading to the first party without a game plan will be a struggle for me but my youngest starts school on 8/17 so we didn't have a lot of choice 😂. We plan to purchase the lightning lane passes for this trip so have been trying to gather intel so we will be prepared to book next week. Great to "meet" ya'll!
