Hey, that makes for a good QOTD:

Are you already making plans for the "next trip"?

If so, when do you expect to return?

What might be new or different about your next vacation vs. this one?

For us, the *tentative* plan is to return in May and October 2015. DS will be finished his first year at college by the end of April, and on his reading week in October. These will quite possibly be the last vacations he takes with us :( . Its so weird to be able to think outside the elementary and secondary school calendars for next year's trips........I hope this means cheaper flights!!!! :)

We have never been to Orlando in May or October....so both would be new experiences! October would definitely include Halloween Horror Nights at Universal and MNSSHP at Disney :thumbsup2 .

Of course, this may all change after our August trip, if the boys fall in love with having our two weeks back-to-back. In that case, it would be two weeks in May, with Discovery Cove/SeaWorld/Aquatica/Busch Gardens on the agenda.

On July 2015 my youngest daughter will turn 3 so we're planning to go back just before her birthday to celebrate at MK and to enjoy her being free for the last time. I hope to get a bounce-back offer to book. Thinking of either Pop/BC split stay or POR. After WDW we will go to St Pete beach for two weeks.

I'm also planning a cruise for first week of March 2016 (my oldest Spring break). I'm just waiting for the dates and prices to come out to book!

Booking for cruises in fall 2015 opens to the public tomorrow. We are currently looking at a late September sail date. This would be our first time on the Magic, our first time sailing out of Miami, and our first time visiting anything south of Orlando, including Disney's Vero Beach resort and Key West. It would also be our first 4-night cruise, our first MNSSHP, our first cruise and visit to WDW in October, and our first stay at FW Cabins (or another new Disney resort based on special offers). Lots of firsts!

First, Congrats MouseMommy1!!

Our next trip should be October 2015 if not before ;) It was announced a couple months ago that DH's annual work conference is finally in Orlando next year!! Not sure yet if it'll actually be at Disney, but he works for Starbucks and given their recent partnership, I'm hoping! Either way we'll all be going down with him and hopefully doing another MNSSHP :thumbsup2

First Congrats to Mousemommy! Yep, pull the trigger now. AKL is a great resort for the kids and you can use the pool at AKL and at the AKV too! There's so much to look at when you stay there. Saving money is always a good thing!

QOTD - I'm always thinking about next year's travels. I tend to not really start until I see the school calendar, which usually comes out at the start of February.

I don't have a countdown, but we will be in Orlando 2 days after Gina. So looking forward to it. I had to wear a jacket this morning and a sweater last night. Yep, I am so ready for hot and shorts and tees.

My kids are counting the days to the end of school. They have less than 3 weeks now. Gosh the school year has gone by so fast. I am still trying to get my DS to try on his bathing suits from last year. I have a funny feeling they aren't going to fit, and we need to shop now, as all our stores have summer clothes out. DD on the other hand, has already updated her bathing suit collection. Can you tell? We really want summer to come!:)

Thanks guys! I am just struggling with whether to pull the trigger now, or to wait until 12 weeks and risk not having it available....:scratchin

Congrats! Personally, I would pull the trigger. It would help me feel less overwhelmed if it were just changed. So happy for you and your family. :goodvibes

So funny that you asked this. About 2 weeks ago I asked DD and DS if it was too soon to start planning the next trip. :rotfl2: We will probably book a BB for end of Aug 2015. I will wait on the details til next years prices come out.

Yep we are heading back to disney in December! Just bought airfare and MVMCP tix this week! Can't wait 12/2-12/7

Thanks for the advice everyone!!!

Our first ultrasound is next week, so hoping for boatloads of pixie dust showing all is well, and I think I will pull the trigger at that point and make the move to AKL.:goodvibes

Congrats Mousemommy!!!

Our next trip is planned for next summer. We'll be in CA for a friend's wedding the 3rd week of July. And you can't go to the west coast without going to "the original"!!!! Probably only 2 days or so there, but I'm glad to have it to look forward to after this one is over.

I've always got at least two DW trips in the works. ::yes:: We've also booked a trip in December, but I may cancel if I can't find decent airfares. But if I do cancel my Christmas trip, no worries, I'll just book for the March break. :)

Booking trips make me happy! :cool1: It's just a bonus when I can actually go. :rotfl:

We never stay in the same hotel two trips in a row. That helps to keep each trip fresh and exciting. :goodvibes

Yes! We are planning to go back for my birthday weekend in February 2015 so I can run the Princess Half Marathon :cheer2:

It's one of those things that is still up in the air though...I'm terrified to commit in case something comes up. But, knowing I can defer my registration to another race date makes me feel better.

It will be different because we are (hopefully) staying at an Epcot area resort and using the APs we plan to get when we're there in August. It will also be the first time I've ever pulled my kids out of school for ANYTHING. They very rarely miss days of school for any reason. Yes, they're those perfect attendance award kids, lol. I also plan to book a princess meal for the first time, and to eat at Sanaa.

And Mousemommy1 - I forgot to pull out a quote, but CONGRATULATIONS!!! I echo everyone who says to change to AKL!! Best wishes :grouphug:

Like most of us, I'm already *researching* my next trip. No one trip at a time here! lol...

We were down in December for a Christmas visit, and it is truly perfection at that time of the year :)

But... with the winter we've just had, I'm thinking a late January or February vacation might be in my future. Maybe even a cruise/stay vacation. Anything to break up the winter sounds good to me. Especially if it's like this past one.

QOTD - we've booked our first trial cruise in March 2015 (3 night) from March 13 to 16, and plan to add 4 nights at Disney world after the cruise. We're thinking of the Contemporary as that has been on our wish list and we usually do mod's (if there's a room Only discount). We're excited as it is our first spring break trip, but I am worried about the crowds!!!!

88 days for us!!!! But.....(and I can't believe I am really writing this right now....) On Mother's Day (of all days ), DH and I found out that we are expecting! :faint: This will be our 3rd child, and was completely...I mean completely unexpected. (our two girls are 10 and 7 right now). I am only in my 6th week, and normally wouldn't even be talking about being pregnant this early, however, it is such a shock to us, and with the trip and all, I feel so overwhelmed!! DH is so excited, and we did tell our girls. I wanted to cancel the trip, but DH and the girls still want to go. I just feel like being 20 wks pregnant in August in Florida will not be pretty. Also, I am wondering if I do decide we will still go (will make the decision once we are past that 12 week mark - around 7/4/14) I feel like we should switch from the GF over to AKL, as AKL has always been on the list and won't be an option once we are a party of 5. :scared1: Also, my AKL option is $2k cheaper and considering we just got a quote to add a bedroom and bathroom to our home, given our new situation, saving some money would be ideal. What would you do??? Keep the trip? Change to AKL?? I am sooooo overwhelmed right now and still cannot believe that I am pregnant!

Congrats! I would definitely pull the trigger now and switch to AKL.

Next trip will be in 2 years and we'll do Southern California again!

Not sure where you are flying from but I just booked southwest for December out of philly only $288 RT!

Hi there, our ticker time is the same :) Do you arrive Aug. 26th?

YES! We arrive late on the 26th! I'm so excited!

Congratulations!

We just had our 4th. :) I was 21 weeks on our last trip, in April. I will admit, one day was really tough due o the heat. We were waiting in line for ETWB, but they didn't have it snaking through the shade, it was all in the direct sn, and it was hot. At about the 30 min mark I was very faint, and at 32 min I almost passed out. But some kind ppl helped move me inside, and 'encouraged' the person sitting in the chair, to get up, so I was able to sit until my family caught up with me. I was embarrassed, and the rest of the day was rough. But I suspect part of the problem was I was already hungry when we got in line, and the line, plus hungry was just too much.

I suggest eating often! And lots of water. We also planned to go down and miss seeing some stuff. We figured if we didn't expect to do it all, then we'd be okay.

Also we ended our park day by about 3 each day and went back to the resort (we were at AKL) I took a nap, then we went swimming, and ate dinner, watched the animals. pixie dust: Honestly, it was the best trip ever!

As for switching to AKL - I'm sure you'll love it. It's now our favourite! Though as a family of 5 you'll still be able to stay there until before your newest LO's 3rd birthday - which is how we fit last trip.

Now as a family of 5+1, we can stay in a 1 berm there - and the difference in price between AKV 1bdrm and a regular Deluxe resort room is minimal (IMO). So the option will still be there for your family in the future.

But saving money is a good thing too. We're staying at POR to save money this trip. I'm not a fan of moderates typically (value or deluxe for me), but we're hoping the extra money will be well spent on our move.

Thank you for your insight!!!

We have already said that we will really be taking it easy. My kids said they are just happy to be down there, so not really concerned about all the rides. Plus they can still go on with DH.

Looking back though, I guess being 20 weeks pregnant in Florida in August is waaaayyyyyyy better than where I was at 20 weeks pregnant with my youngest -- I was in the middle of a 10 day hospitalization for viral meningitis!!! :scared1:

Yeah, Disney is a much better option. :rotfl:

I will make the change to AKL after next weeks ultrasound, if everything looks good. :goodvibes
