Hey everyone!!
We will be heading back to Art of Animation in August. We originally planned September again, but the kids changed school and the allowance for missed days went from a week to 3 days with no penalty.

I have been 5 times and this will be my 6th. We have went Memorial day weekend and it was not bad at all for crowds and heat, early June, last week of June-same thing, and September was perfect. 82-87 all week, one rainy day, and max wait time for one ride was 22 minutes. Other than that, we waited around 10 per each ride, did not use but one fast pass, and mostly walked right onto ride.
Is August as bad as people are saying? Sheesh! We have stayed at WL, CB, AsM, AsMovies multiple times, AofA in the LM section, and now back.

We will be checking in late the night of August 8th and staying until August 16. We will be in a Family suite. We were originally in the LK ones, but adding a day put us in the random category. SO that should be interesting.
It will be me, DS, DD, and my Father. His first trip since 1978, so this should be interesting!!!!

We will be checking in to CSR on 8/20... So excited...first time there! Only time not staying at a deluxe so I hope we're not disappointed! But I think it will be great!

8/21 Crystal Palace at 8:25... Probably spend most of our day at MK... At least book some Fastpasses.... Might park hop though

8/22 EP, Biergarten at 4pm, Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party at 8pm

8/23 Keys to the Kingdom Tour!!! Probably spend most of the day at MK, but may park hop

8/24 Donald's Safari Breakfast at 9:05 all day at AK!

8/25 HS... Dine with an Imagineer at 12pm.... The only thing that makes HS a worthwhile day!

^^^^^ trying not to over book us! I promised DH this would be a different sort of trip! No commando! Pool time and time to stop and smell the roses!

Hi there! We will be there aug 6-13 staying in the Cars suite. We normally stay at Shades of Green so this will be a huge change for us. Im bringing my mom along to help with the kiddies. This is my 10th trip! This trip can not come fast enough!

Just cancelled a bunch of August dining res, including one for BOG on 8/30/14 at 4:45pm for a party of 4! Hope something opens up for someone else!

We had tossed around a possible get-together at DTD during the last week or two of the month, but so far no dates or times have been set in stone.

I see you are in Deep River....is Syracuse closer for you than Buffalo? Might be an option for you for your next trip. We live just west of Kingston, and much prefer the journey to Syracuse over Buffalo!

Okay, I'll answer first since nobody else is around.

We use Banana Boat, tear free, SPF 60, waterproof sunblock.
Our first application is in the morning while we wait in line at the bus, then we will reapply at least one more time around noon.

Fragrance free (very moisturizing, contains Vitamin E & Aloe)

SPF 60

We do a SPF 50-60 and apply when getting dressed in the am, reapply after our swim break in the afternoon. We used Ombrelle the last 2 years. It doesn't leave an oily feel.

The reason we go so high is one year we only had a 30 and dh and the kids burned to a crisp. Not taking the chances of that happening again as it ruined the vacation being in so much pain.

Aug 3-6: AoA in a LM room

ADRs and parks: we are paying OOP

Aug 3: day at DTD and Trail's End buffet at 5:20pm for dinner followed by campfire (might change for TRex and movie at resort)
Aug 4: pool day at the resort and early sleep time
8:20am at 1900 PF (not sure we'll keep it) and 5:20pm at Beaches and Cream
Aug 5: MK day
8:05am at CRT
Noon at The Plaza (will cancel if I can get FP+ for BOG)
4:55pm at CP (might cancel because expensive)
9:05pm dessert party TTFDP

Aug 6: departure day so late breakfast at Kona Cafe at 11am before driving 8-10 hours


My ADR are often changing. In the past I had a BOG dinner instead of CP, a CM breakfast instead of Kona and an Ohana dinner instead of Beaches and Cream but I canceled even though they are the must do for many.

I added your ADRs to the list on page 118. If they change, just let me know.

I keep forgetting to add our park days to the list. Thanks for the reminder!

I added your information. You have some really cool things planned. I really would love to try Dine with Imagineer at some point.

After changing them 100 times, I think I finally have my parks and ADRs lined up for our August trip:

Friday, 8/29: Arrival day. MK and ADR at BoG @ 6:50 pm

Saturday, 8/30: AM at AK, ADR at Sanaa @ 1:30 pm, afternoon break, evening at EP with ADR at LaCava for the After Hours Wind Down. (Also have Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party, but will most likely cancel.)

Sunday, 8/31: AM at DHS, ADR @ Brown Derby @ 1:40 pm. Afternoon break and evening at EP.

Monday, 9/1: AM at MK. Flight leaves at 8:05 pm.

I like Neutrogena Fresh Cooling Body Mist Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 45. I do find that we don't worry about it too much on a park day. We typically have a good base tan and we aren't out in direct sun too long. We will be more aware when we do a pool or water park day.

Banana Boat for us as well . SPF 100. Sport, if we can get it (my boys get super sweaty in the Florida heat ... and the sport seems to have a little more staying power).

All three of us are all your stereotypical pasty while Canucks, and burn sooooo easily. We need the highest SPF we can find. Our Walmart and Giant Tiger stores usually carry a limited supply of the the SPF 100 on their initial summer stock, so we always snag it as soon as we see it......otherwise, POOF! Its gone.

Yea we looked into Sycurase, Albany and Rochcester but SW gave us the best deal from Buffalo and on the way back we are going to stop north of Toronto to see family before heading back to Deep so flying in and out of Buffalo just made sense for this trip. We are in Havelock the weekend before for the Country Jamoboree so by the time I hit Disney I will be beat...lol

We use SPF 30 usually and buy what is on sale. I burn then tan so I am lucky there. I love sitting outside and soaking up the heat.
