I just looked in my email (because I never clean it out:rolleyes1) and I booked for August 2012 in mid April because there was a good sale. This was Southwest.

I'm an email hoarder, too. So I looked and we got out flights for January 2012 in October. In 2013 I got tickets for July in May but that was Milwaukee to Rochester. So maybe 2-3 months out?

I love how some of use have tickers in the 4 month range!!!:cheer2:

My first trip was in 87 when I was 6.

This is somewhere in the 20s...I lost count in the high teens :). I squeezed in a lot between high school and baby :)

I went for many day trips as a child because my grandparents had a place about 2 hours from Disney that we visited in the winters. My first onsite stay with my husband and kids was 2008 for 10 nights at CSR. From then we were hooked and this upcoming tip with my kids will be their 10th.

Another option I am considering is to look at packages (Southwest Vacations, Jetblue vacations, Travelocity etc.). Sometimes they book their flights at a huge discount and some of that can get passed on to the customer. It works better to wait until Disney releases their discounts too, so that the hotel portion is also lower. For example I remember one year that I had a coupon code I could use on top of the discount from Disney by booking through Travelocity. Might be worth keeping an eye on those sites and bundling.

That's a good idea! :thumbsup2

1976 was my first trip with my parents and sisters and then we went about 4 or 5 times between 76 and 86. I don't remember loving it. I just remember lining up for hours for everything. Of course we only went during Christmas vacation or March Break, so that's why it was so crowded all the time.

I returned with my own kids for the first time in 24 years in 2010. This August it will be our 7th trip since 2010. I can't believe it and most of my family and friends don't get it. But, oh well. :)

Wow! You had a good long break in there! Explains why you're making up for it now. :goodvibes

After my 2nd childhood trip in 1989, I didn't get back until 2000 and that was college spring break with my then BF (now husband)...it had been 11 years for both of us since our last visit and we had an absolute blast...so much so that we went again that same year...and then 2 years after that for our honeymoon. :lovestruc

We then took a 7 year break during which time we had our girls and then brought them on their 1st trip in 2009 (they were 3 and 5) and we've been going every year since!!! We already have 2015's trip planned and partially booked too. That's why I had to pay off this trip so early, so I can start getting that one paid off!!! I'm excited though because that trip will include our 1st Disney cruise!!

I have a confession. I've been reading The Thinking Fan's Guide to wdw. I'm almost done. Today I read about the carousel of progress (personal fave) and main street, and.....it's making me cry!!! I'm kinda a sucker anyway. Doesn't take much, but I've also been sick for days and am exhausted. I had to put it down because the tears were making me even stuffier.

It just makes me happy to read someone else's point of view and know they're as obsessed as I am. I don't think I can wait til August...

My first trip was in 1984, 4th grade. We stayed in a Ft Wilderness Cabin. I still remember it!

Then I went in 1991 with the family, 2003 on my honeymoon, 2008 with our first child, and this will be trip #5. It will be the first trip for my younger two!

And I might have already said it on this thread, but I loved the Thinking Fan's Guide! I'm really hoping he writes them for the other parks. I think that's the plan.

My 1st trip to Disney was last August when I was 26 years old. I always dreamed of going as a child and never thought I would get there and I admit my first time watching wishes with my 2 kids, I looked over at DH and said "I actually made it babe!" Of course with the happiest tears rolling down my face! Last year watching my kids so happy experiencing this dream just made us realize how much we want to do it over and over again! Especially while they are little and believe in the magic! DH went many times as a child but says he did not feel the way he felt experiencing it with the kids. He had never stayed onsite before either. This August will be our second trip and we just cannot wait! We are hooked! :)

Our first trip to dismay was in 2007. I was 31 :-(. My spoiled kids have been to WDW now 3 times and Disneyland once. I promised them I'd never make them wait until they were grown to go!! Lol

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

My very first trip to Disney was a day trip to Disneyland when I was 11 or so (so 1993ish). I got to go to WDW my freshman and senior year of high school for a band and chorus trip (1998 and 2001) and was able to spend a day at EuroDisney when I was 16 (1999) in between those trips ( my dad was military and stationed in Germany.)

My first trip was in 1996, when I was 15, and it was going to be the 'once in a lifetime' visit. It was also the first time on a plane for me and my brother (only 8 hours!).

We went back in 97, then again in 2000 (September this time as I was at university by this point).

After that it was DLRP in December 2004, where my DH proposed to me.

We took our first WDW trip together in April/May 2006, right before I became a teacher.

After this we saved for our Disney wedding and went back in August 2009 to get married.

We then visited consecutively in 2010 and 2011 as we had annual passes from the wedding.

We were due to travel for Christmas 2010 but snow meant we never got there :(

So this trip will be number 8 for me, but something like number 12 for DH as he went more times as a younger child!

My first trip was roughly in 1986/87 I was 6 or 7. If counting only the trips where I went to all parks in one stay without going home, then this would be roughly trip 10/11. If counting all trips, including day trips, It'd be well over 100.

DH and DD1 7 trips each, first in 2007
DD2 5 trips, first in 2009
DD3 3 trips, first in 2011

DS will have his first trip in Aug :cloud9:

My first trip was around 1975 or so. We'd drive to WDW every year growing up and stay in our motor home at FW. This trip will be #33 or so for me. DH went for his first time on our disney moon in 2001. This will be his 12th trip. We will be taking a break from Disney next summer now that our boys are getting older. Time to explore the country:)

We all have such great Disney history!!! But this one made me cry. :goodvibes

Even though I was lucky enough to go twice as a child, I never stopped wanting to go back and obviously did it as soon as I could do it on my own....:rotfl2:

My DH and I have been together for 20 years this year (married for almost 12) and I'm not sure how much he realized that I was serious when I was 15 and said we would be raising our kids in Disney (you know, things kids young and in love say)....and we have!!! :rotfl2:

I went to DW twice as a kid. I had grandparents in Florida and an aunt & uncle in Orlando, so we used to go to FL pretty much every year, usually during spring break. We used to drive down, 4 people and dog. The first time we went to DW there was only MK. We stayed one night at the poly and I vividly remember watching the fireworks and water pageant from the beach. The second time was right after Epcot opened. There were still a few exhibits that hadn't opened yet. We stayed at the CR one night and just remember walking as close to the wall as possible.

Fast forward to 1992 and DH and I went for our honeymoon. We stayed offsite and and the silliest little rental car. We went in September and the car had black interior. It was like stepping into a furnace every time we got in.

Fast forward again and DH and I are there with DD 8 and DS 5. It's January 2006 and we stayed at ASSp. Kids were the perfect age. So many good memories of this trip.

The last two trips I payed for myself and my mom treated the kids. October 2010 and January 2012. We stayed at pop for both. For the first one I pushed my mom around in a wheelchair everywhere. Whew! She had a scooter the second time. My mom wanted to go so badly and didn't think she could do it. When I explained how accommodating they are she decided to give it a try. I swear she had more fun than the kids. :)

So this next trip will be my 6th. It'll be DH and the kids again. I'm really looking forward to trying the villas and staying closer to the parks. We'll have PH and WPM on our tickets, so we'll really feel like we can go anywhere. We've been saving up $ and points since 2006, but with price increases not sure how far ahead we are.. lol!

OK....Question of the day!!!

When was your 1st trip to Disney, and what # trip will this be for you???

Our first trip was in January 2009. DH was 37, I was 35, and the trip itself was to celebrate DS's 13th birthday. We stayed at POR and visited all 4 Disney parks.

We had dreamed of a Disney vacation for many years (specifically wanting to take our DS there when he was much younger), but I was sidelined with a brain tumor just before he turned three years old. That kind of took life in a different direction for us for the next 10 years.

We returned to Orlando in January 2012 for a Universal, Discovery Cove & SeaWorld trip to celebrate the boy's 16th birthday.

We visited again in August 2012, where we did Discovery Cove, Aquatica, the Outta Control Dinner Show, the Titanic Experience, and an assortment of side items like mini golf and shopping.

In December 2012, we spent Christmas in Orlando and visited SeaWorld, Aquatica, ICE! at Gaylord Palms, Gatorland, Wild Willy's Airboats, Downtown Disney, and more.

August 2013, we spent another glorious week in the hottest place on earth and visited Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Showcase of Citrus, and Cocoa Beach, among other things.

So this August will be trip #6 for us, but our vacations encompass much more than Disney. I have an Orlando bucket list that still has a whole whack of stuff to be conquered!
