My DH and I have been together for 20 years this year too! (Married 13) I sucked him into my disney lifestyle too! He loves it just as much as me!!

That's the trick!!! Gotta train 'em while they're young!!! (I was 15 and he was 16 when we got together) :rotfl2:

Our Junior and Senior prom, he wore a Mickey Mouse pattern cummerbund and bow tie under his tux....our wedding was Disney themed.....he accepted the obsession from early on

QOTD: What is the total cost of your trip so far?

Since we have varying number of trip lengths, family sizes, etc., break down your final number into a per person, per day figure for easy comparison.

So far we have:

For us we have flights for 6 ppl: 2662
POR for 8 nights 9 days, 7 day base tickets, and memory maker $2913
Dining, including snacks, gratuities, and alcohol: 2855
Spending: $500

Total: $8930 = $165 pp/pd

Flights are the worst for us.

Late to the party, but here it goes:

Lodging: renting DVC points BWV standard studio/VWL studio/AKV Jambo standard studio
$1320

Tickets: splurging :) 8 day PH + WPM through UT mousesavers link. My mom is gifting us the approx value of the add ons, so
$1316

Airfare: covered with SW rewards, so just paying taxes, fees, and early bird
$120

Food: hard to figure, but we'll probably eat in-room breakfasts and mostly counter service with a couple of table service. I have over $700 covered with DVisa rewards, so I'll guesstimate
$500

Total: $3256

I'm sure there'll be more when we're there. Our trip is 8 nights for 2 adults and 2 teens. So per person per day is $101.75.

There was some discussion lately on the Facebook page about how much everyone's trip was shaping up to look like, cost-wise. Thought it would also be a good QOTD for here :) (or maybe not, I was a little :scared1: when I actually crunched those numbers!!! :rolleyes1) QOTD: What is the total cost of your trip so far? VWL- 3 nights $330 (Renting points from a friend)
DxDDP for the kids and I $492
DDP for DH $176 (He is listed in his parent's room)

CSR-4 Nights FD on a bounce back offer upgraded to Deluxe Dining with 6 Day Park Hopper tickets and a Memory Maker $2928

DH and I are driving down- gas, hotel, food $500
The kids are flying down with their grandparents and the grandparents are paying for their tickets :)

BBB ~$70 and PL ~ $60

We are budgeting $1000 for tips and spending money.

$198 per person per day

We all have such great Disney history!!! But this one made me cry. :goodvibes Even though I was lucky enough to go twice as a child, I never stopped wanting to go back and obviously did it as soon as I could do it on my own....:rotfl2: My DH and I have been together for 20 years this year (married for almost 12) and I'm not sure how much he realized that I was serious when I was 15 and said we would be raising our kids in Disney (you know, things kids young and in love say)....and we have!!! :rotfl2:

Haha! This is so funny! DH & I have been together for 11 years this year (got together when we were 15 & 16) and we just HAD to celebrate our 10 year anniversary at Disney last year! He was so stuck on it being our once in a lifetime trip , hes not nearly as disney obsessed as I am. But now hes excited to make it a yearly vacation! He should have known! As a teenager I would buy Disney movies as soon as they were released from the vault and make him take me to Disney on ice for dates! Aww the good old days :) lol

Flights are the worst for us.

Ouch. I know our neighbours to the west always have it tough when it comes to transportation there and back. Everytime I feel like crabbing about our flight prices, I always think of those living in Alberta, Manitoba, etc. and remember how lucky we are to be able to fly from NY State.

QOTD: What is the total cost of your trip so far?

Pretty much all booked up but waiting to see what discounts Disney offers to see if I can bring the costs down, but heres what it is looking like so far:

9 Nights/10 Days, Beach Club, SV + 7 Day tickets w/ 1 day FREE waterpark admission- $2930

Round Trip Nonstop flights on Jetblue for the 4 of us-$1099 (this amount includes trip insurance)

Memory Maker- $149

Food/souvenirs/Pirates League & Maybe A Pirates Cruise for the kids- $1700 (estimate)

Total: $5878

Thats $146.95 Per Person/Per Day

Not too bad I guess lol

I am doing a happy dance right now. I just looked at the SW site and a bunch of flights just opened up on my dates. I changed to a 7 pm nonstop return with points, equivalent of $129 one-way! (I originally had a 11am flight meaning 8 am for DME) If you're flying SW it might be a good time to recheck schedules...

Hi fellow Augusteers,

Since I was able to finally apply a discount to my trip today:banana: I have final numbers.

Airfare 3 People $818.00
YES 5 day premium (hopper and water park) $1,000
POR 5 nights Garden View $849.00
AKL 3 nights Pool View $766.00
Food and misc. about $500 (about)

Total $3,933.
- 650. Disney Rewards
$3,283.

It finally feels real.:cool1:

This is so weird. DH and I have also been together 20 years this year as well. We have been married 15. I was 18 and he was 20 when we met. I brought him to Disney with my family after we had been together for 2 years. So I started training him as early as I could. :goodvibes

I read this and was feeling hopeful but............
I just checked and all non stops are still sold out .. Leaving out of Long Island mccarthur airport.. Looks like I may have to do a stop in Baltimore ...hopefully more flights will become available for me too!!!

Hey all!
Needed to update my dates! Had to change from Aug 16-23 at POR to Aug 2-9, still at POR. Wife's school is starting a week earlier than usual.

Oh, and I got all of the ADRs I wanted......19 of them. Highlights include Ohana, 2 Breakfasts at Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's (B), Sanaa (L), 1900 Park Fare (D), Be Our Guest (D), Akerhus (D), CRT (L), Kona (L), Via Napoli (L), Whispering Canyon (D), Cape May (L & D) and others.

Now it's on to optimizing some Touring Plans and trying to wrap my head around this new con-fangled FP+ dealie.

Hope all are well.

Cheers,
Indy

:wave2: I will be at POR from the 2nd-7th. That's cool most of the August thread has dissers later in the month., if you haven't stayed there you will like it. I am requesting the mansions hopefully will get it.
Can't wait.:cool1:

Total cost

Airfare-I haven't booked yet because it's killing me how high airfare is. We always pay around $200, but it's looking like we would be lucky to get it for $350.
This is for four of us.

So Airport parking $120
Airfare $1400
Rental Car $170
Friday night offsite, $75

Universal portion:
Saturday and Sunday nights at Royal Pacific Hotel $667
2day park to park Uni tickets $627

Boardwalk Villas Mon-Sun $0
Premium Annual Passes $1600, but we already bought them and used them last November. So no money out of pocket for this trip. $0 or $800 if we're figuring half for each trip.
Food/incidentals $175/day $1575

For the WDW part of the trip and car, parking and airfare, including the PAPs $3790
$2990 without them. I'm going with $2990 because we bought the vouchers in Dec 2012, feels too long ago to count. LOL

$1644 for Universal portion of trip

Total for everything $4634
$515/day
$129 per person per day.

Hi,

I couldn't resist changing two of my ADRs. I wanted to try the sit-downs at my resorts. The biggest was today being able to change my resort to AKL from CSR on the new discount.:cool1:

I have a couple of changes to my ADR's. The new list is:

8-4 Chef's 12:30
8-4 Bongos 6:30
8-6 Boatwirghts (POR) 6:40
8-9 Boma (AKL) 5:15

Thanks:goodvibes

Well I have been crunching numbers all day and it looks like we'll be sticking with the Beach Club. I think we will stay at the airport Hyatt on our last night. We did this on our last trip and it made the early morning flight soooo much easier. Funny thing as well.. we wandered around the airport for awhile since we were there the night before. And there's a food court.. and stores.. and all kinds of stuff. In our 20 plus times in that airport I've only gone to the plane, or straight to Magical Express. Who knew the airport had a Lush store or a food court? Not me!:rotfl:
For the first time ever I am considering a flight on United or Delta or American. They are flights with connections but the prices are way better than Southwest or Jetblue. I can get a Southwest flight down pretty reasonable. But coming back around Labour Day weekend is proving very expensive.

I am going to call and see if Beach Club is still available for our new dates tomorrow afternoon. If not, it's back to the drawing board but we'll probably go with POR. I could rent points for what a mod is going to cost me with the discount though so I might look at other options. I wouldn't be me if I didn't change my resort choice 500 times.;)

Our new dates are August 21st to the 29th or 30th (depending on the flight prices for the return).
Hopefully I will get a resort squared away tomorrow and can be added to the list:)
So glad to see the disney discounts are coming for our August group!!!

We booked a Royal Room for DD6 (7 AToT) as of now. That may change depending on what discounts are available come April. It's DW and I's 10th Anniversary trip, and we'd love to get lucky and get a good deal on BW or YC/BC. I'm not holding my breath on that one, though.

Cheers,
Indy

lol, Jake LOVES shopping at MCO! (shocking, I know!! :lmao:)

We always go early enough that we can have one more stop at Lids, the Harley Store (for my bro), the SeaWorld store, and Airport Wireless (they have a fab selection of cell cases), then grab a Nathan's hotdog and a Krispy Kreme donut before heading to security :thumbsup2 .

I wouldn't be me if I didn't change my resort choice 500 times.;)

Hey....we need something to keep us entertained for the next six months! :rotfl:

The disney rewards visa card member discounts started today and it opens to the general public on Monday for August. I booked my change today. It will probably be the only type for this time. I am glad they didn't wait till April.:goodvibes

Ok.. it's official! We just booked. Beach Club Standard from August 21st to the 29th!!:beach:

I also snagged a flight down as the prices had dropped. It's a non-stop and I bought two of them for $123 each, and used points for a third. So half of our air is paid for at $265 (that includes the small fee to use points and ECBI for all of us.. I never go without it). :cool1:

Now if I can just get that flight home to drop I am all set.
