Woot! It would be very interesting if that is a party date. It's my DD's bday, and while we were going to spend it in Epcot, the party may be more fun.

Gina, that's good to hear that DH wants the 2 week vacation. As an old boss told me, everyone is replaceable. So, I don't feel bad using 2 weeks of my vacation to enjoy. Hug that fur baby for me. Maybe a friend or the vet can take care when you are away.

I am so ready for sun and heat. We've had over a foot of snow, and now freezing rain. The streets are narrow, the snow piled high on the sides. We've been in the 20's most of the time, so the snow has not melted any yet.

Getting ready to do my ADRs. Not many, as we won't do the dining plan, and we don't mind the fast service food. My kids are finally getting somewhat excited. We have never stayed at YC, so I am hoping the kids enjoy the pool and closeness to the parks.

Yay, a fellow AT traveler! We booked priority unloading in Sanford, too. Though TBH, where we really need it is on the way back, when we still have an 8 hour drive ahead of us. But naaaahhhh, we're so excited to get our vacation started that waiting in Sanford is agony so that's when we booked it. Somehow I can rationalize that expense, whereas spending the extra at the end of the vacation feels like a waste. Anyway, I think you will love it! This will be our 3rd AT trip. First in coach, last year in a family bedroom, and we're snugging it up again this summer. After this year there is no way we will fit. My girls are finally growing (13 year old is almost 4-10, lol!)

Oh yeah!! I'm excited!! The only thing I'm nervous about is sitting across from the girls they are 8,10. I probably won't sleep.

180 days to go! Managed to book our ADRs this morning whilst on a coach tour in Iceland... Got all but one we wanted... It wouldn't give us options for a Fantasmic Dining Package... Do they open later?

I booked my Fantasmic Dining Package (Aug 19th) yesterday morning so they are open.

Just booked our surfing lessons at TL. I thought it might be a big selling point for my husband, who isn't quite as Disney obsessed as I am, but who has always wanted to learn to surf. I knew it started early, but she just told me we need to get there at 5:45....AM! AHHH!

We planned it on an "off" day, so I guess we can nap later. Original plan was to stay at EPCOT for Illuminations the night before.

Has anyone ever done them before? Hope it's worth it!!

I would be the same way. You might consider requesting the lower level. It should be the same price for either level, I believe. There are only 12 seats in the lower levels and the walking between cars happens on the upper level, so no one should be "roaming" through the car and you might feel a bit better about getting some shut-eye. The rest rooms are also down there, so it's a bit easier for bathroom breaks (and there is a door between the lower level coach seating area and the bathroom areas, so you shouldn't be bothered by people coming down for the restroom, or any aromatic bonuses ). We didn't know about this the year we were in coach, and I would definitely have booked that way if I had known! But you will be fine, however it works out.

We're staying at POR - my cousin and her family will also be there for over lapping trips. We're not traveling together, just going to be there at the same time. We also might have friends traveling with us- which would add 2 more birthdays to the list of celebrations! I'll need to order a cake.

I'm a bit concerned about the size of the room. We're used to deluxe, but this is a budget trip and POR was the least expensive place we could find on property for a family as big as ours. (5+1).

Anyhow, excited to hear all about your trips and plans!

Have stayed at POR 4 times, it will be tight but, you just sleep there. You may want to bring an inflatable twin mattress to put between the two beds. They use to have a trundle bed you could do that with, but I guess no more. Only hard thing about putting a mattress between the beds is remembering not to step on the person. This is usually where my DH slept (of his own accord) and the kids would step on his head sometimes. Not to big of a deal except when he was dead asleep.

What helped us in tight quarters, over the door shoe organizer and having our park clothes all packaged up for each child. The first trip at POR I did not do this because I thought it was over the top. However, when I was running around like a chicken with her head cut off looking for underwear and hair elastics I had wished I had done it. Every trip after that I was more organized and I have to say it is an awesome feeling waking up for rope drop and just throwing a plastic bag at each child and then walking away with a satisfied smile to drink my coffee outside. Now that the kids are older, I do not package their clothes, but do have matching shirts and that simplifies things too. I just take out the pile of shirts for that day and they are on their own. They are now well trained and get the importance of being belly up in front of the crowd at RD

Not sure if this helps, but hope it does. Nurse Mommy of 4 (Tasha) is also a veteran of POR with a large crew so hopefully she will pipe in her tips.

Crowds after the 16th are great, Florida schools are back in session along with half the country so there's not usually much wait! Heat is the same as sept you're right!!

We're going 8/17-8/23 and staying at AKL. First time not doing DDP but did get ADR for 8/17 at T-Rex, 8/18 at Tutto and 8/20 at BOG.

hi everyone,

I just spent a crazy day changing ressies. Jet blue decided to change my flight times by like a half day or more, so I had to spend time with them rearranging new ones. I ended up having to add a day on to disney which but I couldn't get a an extra night at POR. I would have had to change rooms cause they didn't any more standard.

So, I decided to do a split stay, with CSR. Since I will have to change rooms I decided to check out of POR on 8-7 and check into CSR 8-7 for 3 nights. I am fine with it we really enjoy CSR it was just a hassle going back and forth with the airlines and disney.

Anyway I did it. POR 8/2-8/7 and CSR 8/7 to 8/10. First split stay.

Afternoon everyone. Only you can understand my excitement at getting a breakfast ADR on 8/20 at 8:15a for Cinderella's Castle!

I've posted this before but I guess I got lost in the shuffle and I didn't see me on the Trip Date list so here it goes again.

Staying at Pop Century from 8/17 to 8/23.

It will be me, DH and DS13 while my DS16 stays home. Don't feel too bad for him though. He'll be with his Grandmother that spoils him and his own car to get around in. And, he wasn't really that interested in going so it's all worked out.

I looked on the first page for the August FB group but didn't see a link. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thank you!

Hi All. I have been away from the boards for awhile. However, tomorrow is 180, so I needed to see how everyone was doing with teir ressies. I typically call at 7, but I'm thinking I may try using MDE at 6. It's nice to hear it has worked well for many. I read some terrible things about it last year.

I am really excited to hear about the potential for MNSSHP on Aug 29. We have been before in Oct, and loved it even though it was packed. Now that we have been going in the summer rather than taking the kids out of school in Oct, my DD thought she'd never go to the Holloween party again. We might have to extend our trip by a day to go, but it would be so worth it!
