YAY! My youngest DD finally had her last day, a half-day, today. My older DDs were done on Tuesday afternoon after morning exams. Summer Vacation finally begins for us up here in NY!
My youngest DD is going into 5th grade and she was in class with her two BFFs this year. We moms knew they'd split them into the 3 5th grade classes next year, and that's exactly what happened. So tiny twinge of sadness at not being in class together next year, but my DD got the teacher she wanted, so she's really very happy. I told her she needs to concentrate on schoolwork at school anyway (there's less and less time for playing at school as they get older), and that we will just have to do more playdates. She was happy with that!
Soooo, I just read about the new Frozen experiences at DHS this summer. My DDs are on the edge of "aging out" of this kind of thing, but eldest DD is such a good sport and will go along with almost anything (except ToT, lol!). So we have jiggered around some of our plans to be at DHS for another evening so that we can see the fireworks. We had only planned on 1 DHS evening and will see Fantasmic! that night, and I don't want to try to squeeze both fireworks shows into the same night. It might be doable, but we had some flexibility in our schedule (we are lucky we will be there 13 nights) so doing each on their own night is better. I also changed a FP+ so that we are free at 11:00 for the A&E arrival parade. Anyone heard whether the Oaken Trader place will be open during all regular park hours, or just certain times? We'd like to stop by that, too.
Ok, one other thing (sorry, this is long!): I'm sure you all read/heard about some changes in the Tiering of DHS and Epcot. I just went into
MDE and changed some things so I wanted to confirm for others that you CAN change what are now new Tier 1 rides for OTHER Tier 1 rides. I wasn't sure whether/how this would work, but it did and was super-easy. At Epcot I'd originally had Living With the Land (old Tier 2, now Tier 1), Soarin (Tier 1), and Finding Nemo (Tier 2). I went in and exchanged Living With the Land for Test Track as a swap of Tier 1 rides, thus giving me TWO Tier 1s! Yay! We did this at DHS also, swapping out Great Movie Ride (old Tier 2, now Tier 1) for Toy Story Midway Mania. How awesome is that!?
LAST THING: One of my DHS days is showing a "ghost" FP+ for ToT for three of us in addition to what I booked. It's totally weird. It's been showing up like that for weeks, since I first booked them! We have this, which is what I want so all good there:
- Toy Story Midway Mania 6:45-7:45pm - all 5 of us
- Star Tours - 8:00-9:00pm -- 3 of us
- Tower of Terror - 8:00-9:00pm -- 2 of us
- Fantasmic PS - 9:55-10:15pm -- all 5 of us
but it is also showing that I have:
- Tower of Terror - 8:50-9:50 -- for 3 of us, and not the same 3 as are on the Star Tours FP+, a different combo of 3. What?!
There's even a note that the time conflicts with our other ToT FP+s! How strange is that!?
Has this happened to anyone else? Were you able to actually use it? I've tried to go in and change it to a different experience, but it doesn't show up on the screen to make changes (but it does show up when I look at individual day FP+s, whole itinerary FP+s, etc.). I'm figuring it's just a glitch and not planning to use those.
Ok well I've typed long enough. So happy it is finally summer break!!
