I have to do!!! HS - RNR MK- Space Mountain AK- Early morning Safari EP- Test Track I see you are doing two resorts too. Did you put different names on your MB for each stay? OR just colours?

We put different names on each set. We'll except for DH he just wanted his name lol.

Lol the countdown stares at me when I turn on my phone and iPad ;-). Time to start thinking about FP+ as we finalized our magic bands yesterday. We'll each get 2 sets this time (POR and CR) so we got different colors. The unfortunate part is being from Canada they don't ship lol. QOTD: what are your FP+ priorities for each park? Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

This summer we're only visiting MK and our FP+ choices are all for my DDs.

DD5 and myself: A&E, Belle (ETWB) and Jungle Cruise

DH: Jungle cruise, Peter Pan (with DD2 while we are at Belle) and 7DMT (will do rider swap so I can ride it with DD5)

We hope to get a 4th FP+ for Speedway early evening.

Since we have a pre-park opening ADR for CRT at 8:05am we plan on doing Fantasyland early with minimal waits.

It's a binder that I create for every trip that has all of the information and planning materials for each trip in it. I'm a little OCD. :upsidedow

I've always done this too! I'd create and print calendars with ADR, tour! and event times! too. But now with MDE, I'm wondering if it's an over kill. Maybe I should just screen shot conformation numbers and put in DropBox or something. I'm not sure what to do this year???? Maybe, once I have my FP+ booked, it will all come together! The one thing I will make sure to have handy is all our travel insurance info! DH was sick one year and I completely forgot we had the insurance, so we handled everything without it! Oops!

I still have to do my ADRs, never mind FPs! I have been so swamped at work plus with the Free Dining coming out this week, I am swamped with that as well (my side job).
Since it's only DH and I on this trip, I think we're only doing MK and EP. I saw someone posted Soarin & Test Track for EPCOT; since those are on the same tier and only 1 allowed, do you have to use up your 3 prebooked FP and then you can book the 2nd of those? I haven't been keeping up on that since they made the change, been too busy.

We don't go on a ton of rides when we're there without the kids. For MK we'll probably just do: 7DMT, Splash, HM. We might also go on Peter Pan, IASW, POTC, Mickeys Philharmagic......those are my must-dos. :)

oooh, I have vacation folder. Has all my ressies and info and coupons, directions, etc.

I've already tweeked my schedule many times. I probably am not done yet. I still have to buy my tickets. My darn ITT office has to be bugged to order them. I'd really like them 60 days before so I can use the F+.

Countdown is almost double digits now. Wahhoo!

QOTD:

What's your biggest vacation worry? :worried:

Finances? Heat? Hurricanes? (or other weather-related issues) Illness?

Something else? (and if so, name it)

All of the above? :rotfl:

Or .... nothing at all?

I'm a worry wart by nature, and with this being our first Disney trip (we had to cancel a trip we had booked a couple years ago) is it okay to say everything and then some lmao. Honestly my *main* worry is going to be my 2 year old daughter and her meltdowns while there. I am hoping she will just be in awe of everything around her and have a good time :)

Blah. My husband got laid off Wednesday along with hundreds of other people in his company.

He did get 4 and a half months of severance( he had been there 7 years), great references, and head hunters have already started calling, so I'm rather confident he'll be working again shortly. And hopefully this will end up as a bonus where he gets severance plus a salary for a couple months...but BUT our vacation! We're supposed to go Aug 8th.
So silly to be worried about it, and really just getting a job is miles ahead of vacation on my stress scale, LOL, but I still want to gooooo!
Hoping it all works out somehow.

I am so sorry about your husbands layoff, I can understand the worry about that but how wonderful he already has calls coming in.. sounds like all will work out just fine for you, fingers crossed and best wishes to you!

MK = Anna/Elsa M & G, Mine Train, Space Mountain
EP = Soarin' and Test Track
HS = ToT, RnR, TSM
AK = Everest, Safari, FOTLK show

I was actually on vacation all last week, so today is my 1st day back to work, and I brought my planning binder with me, so I can tweak away at my plans. :rotfl2:

Besides my planning folder I have a HUGE whiteboard hanging in the spare bedroom that I use to move things around. I need to see all my days' plans BIG in front of me lol!

Got my MNSSHP tix this mòrning :thumbsup2:hmghost: Anyone else going Sept. 1st?

Count me in as a card carrying member of the Travel Binder Club. I won't leave home without it. :)

We have finally booked our WDW vacation 17th-24th and we're staying in the little mermaid room at AOA. This will be my daughters third time in WDW but first time to actually participate and understand.

Her 4th Birthday is just 30 days before our trip. We plan on surprising her with a package "from the castle" a cinderella dress, tiara and a letter from Cinderella inviting her to stay for a week. We have reservations at Akershus for breakfast and Cinderellas Royal Table with the princess package for a lunch later in the week.

The hardest part from here on out is keeping my mouth shut!

Me too - I don't have a binder, but I have an excel spreadsheet with about 12 tabs with all our info. :surfweb:

I wear different shoes almost daily. I have a good pair of hiking sandals from our camping store, my nike runners and another pair of sandals too. I learned that lesson the hard way, the rubbing after a couple days in the same shoes nearly ruined our vacay the first August. Also I rotate from morning to after break time too.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Each of us in our travel group bring two pairs of sneakers. My daughter and granddaughters bring at least two pairs of flip flops. I can't wear flip flops so I bring very simple canvas slip ons. But at the parks I only wear sneakers and switch each day.

I also rotate, but sandals only in august for me! I have Keene, Tevas, and Kalso Earths that I rotate a couple of times a day. Works great for me.

I rotate too, and I wear lightweight shoes. I have an amazing pair of lightweight Timberland cork sandals that I bought last year; they're awesome at keeping my feet from being too hot and too swollen. I also have a pair of Croc flipflops, a pair of open flats, and a pair of canvas, Toms style shoes. I rotate between them daily so that my feet don't get too bad.

In addition to rotating my shoes everyday, I also learned that at the end of August whatever shoe I wore was going to get soaked in the afternoon rain. I didn't mind. It helped to cool me down. :)

I have chronic Planter fasciitis (both feet) so I understand the concerns. I bring at least 3 pairs of shoes, two pairs of in shoe Orthotics as they also need to switched, and trade them out daily. I sit alot (people watch and chat with whomever sits beside me;)) as the pavement takes a toll on the PF and if possible have a day off from the parks. If you have if it in your budget you might want to consider renting an electric wheelchair if gets too much, that way you can still enjoy the parks but not the pounding.

At the resort I also keep a frozen water bottle so I can roll it under my feet as it helps with the inflamation and just feels good..;)

I have my Adidas running shoes and my Clark sandals. The key for me is to rotate the shoes every day. If I wear the same shoe two days in a row, my feet will begin to hurt at some point during the second day.

Thank you all!!! I bought some Keens today- Whisper sandals. I fell in love with them as soon as I tried them on. I plan to bring my running shoes also and will probably buy another pair of sandals. Then I can rotate all 3, plus some flip flops for the pool.
Thank you Disney180 for the reminder to keep a frozen water bottle in the freezer. I have one at home. We will be staying in a villa with a refrigerator and freezer so I can keep all my gel packs, ice packs, and anything else I may need for aches and pains! :) I am considering an ECV as a Plan B, but I will also plan for frequent sitting breaks.
Thanks again! My countdown is at 95 days!!

I'm going to buy Keen Whispers too! I saw a pair in DSW and tried them on. That was it. I knew they would be perfect for WDW. So comfortable. Haven't bought them yet. Still trying to decide what color. What color did you get?

I just wanted to mention that I just got the Keen Rose sandals for this summer and I LOVE them! Hoping to book an August trip yet so I can wear them around the Magic Kingdom. :-) I have the Whispers also and like the Rose even better. I have the Red Dahlia (available on Zappos but not on Keen's website for some reason). Love the fun color also!

QOTD: what are your FP+ priorities for each park?

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

AK: Everest, Safari, Dinosaur

MK: Space Mountain, Elsa and Anna M&G, Mine Train

(2nd time)- Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, Enchanted Tales with Belle

Epcot: Soarin (first day), Test Track (second day)

Hollywood Studios: Toy Story Mania, Tower of Terror or Rock n Rollercoaster (again two days)

QOTD: what are your FP+ priorities for each park?

MK - Anna and Elsa, Mine Train, Splash and Big Thunder Mountain, Peter Pan, Storytime with Belle, Space Mountain - lots of priorities here!

Epcot - Soarin

HS - RnR, Great Movie Ride

AK - KS, Everest, Kali River Rapids

We used to get the DDP all the time until the prices went up! It used to cost only $35 a day per adult and $10 for a child which back then also included appetizer and tip! Now it's $60 for an adult and almost $20 for a child does not include tip or appetizer! Def not worth it for my family! It's way too much food and I feel that it dictates my vacation way too much! When we went in august 2 years ago I kept track of everything we ate that would of been on the DDP. Now we are a family of 4 kids back then were 9 and 5 we were there for 8 nights the dining plan would of cost us over $1100. We spent $785 for all of our food for the week! Now remember that doesn't include alcohol or tip but neither does the DDP! We ate at all the restaurants we love in ding flying fish! I think the DDP is just way too expensive and it takes a lot of food now for it to pay for itself!

I agree completely. We did it when it was much cheaper. Not anymore. Each time we go we figure it out and we have saved $100s of dollars each time not being on the dining plan.

Another Keen wearer here!! :goodvibes

I have the Newport H2's and LOVE those things. They are great in Disney! My whole family has a pair.....though the girls need new ones this year. :headache:

My FP+ priorities:

Epcot- Soarin', Test Track and Maelstrom (though we can't get those 3 )

AK- would be the safari, river rapids and EE (but we are going for RD without FP+)

HS- RnR, TSM and Star Tours (though we cannot get RR and TSM together )

MK- 7D Mine Train, Space Mt, BTM (will get 2 days of FP+ here since there is so much to cover...just not sure the next 3 we'll pick...Splash, Buzz and HM or Pirates).

How is RnR and TSM at late EMH at HS? How long would the waits be for then? TIA!
