Trying to get myself noticed so that i can get on the resort list on page 1! We are staying Aug 9-14 at CR! Just want to be part of the group! LOL!

This happened for us once too and it was incredible! A really fantastic memory! I heard that 1900PF has a family of the day too but never experienced that one!

wasn't it awesome? My kids seriously feel like they were movie stars or something, lol. I hadn't heard that about 1900PF. That's on my must-do list for next trip (probably next april) so I will be sure to make a ressie for opening time.

wasn't it awesome? My kids seriously feel like they were movie stars or something, lol. I hadn't heard that about 1900PF. That's on my must-do list for next trip (probably next april) so I will be sure to make a ressie for opening time.

It truly was a magical moment! PF opens earlier for dinner so I can't try for that one but I hope you get it!

Going in august it's def hurricane's!! Every august we go it never fails there is some type of storm stressing me out!!

I think hurricanes and illness rank pretty high on the worry scale for us. I always worry that one of us will be so sick, but we've only encountered that once in 2009 in San Diego lol. I tend to over prepare for illnesses and bring a good bag of medicines lol.

Agreed with both. We had a tropical storm last time we went in August--SO much rain!! (but still fun)

And part of me wants to keep my entire family in isolation for a week or two before we leave so we don't pick up any germs. We have been sick on Christmas for three years in a row--I don't want to be sick in Disney!!

The heat is my biggest fear, personally, because then I get sick. I'm very susceptible to heat stroke because of heart problems, stubbornness, and having such pale skin.

Hurricanes, though, makes me think of an anecdote. The one and only time my aunt ever went to Disney (this was years and years ago, when I was in middle school I think) it was right at the beginning of August and there was a hurricane that had moved up the coast just before she left. When she got to Orlando there were trees broken or bent everywhere...

...Until she got onto Disney property. Everything looked absolutely perfect. This must have been a year or so before the Magical Express because she was on a Mears van, but she mentioned something about the trees to the driver who laughed and said that there was a "happiness bubble" around WDW that kept it safe from hurricanes.

That's just always stuck with me, and even though it's obviously not true I like to pretend it is to keep me from worrying about hurricanes.

I worry about hurricanes.....mostly because of flight delays either going down or coming home. Once I'm there, I don't mind bad weather.

I worry about getting sick right before any vacation. Normally, sickness doesn't hit our family in August though......Oh oh.....shouldn't have said that, hope I haven't jinxed us!

I worry about flight delays due to weather, or maintenance or anything at all. DH and I are airline people and sometimes too much knowledge is dangerous! I worry about my bags getting lost! I worry about either one of us being sick! My first time at WDW, on our honeymoon, I was actively fighting my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. For most our trip I was exhausted and in pain. Don't get me wrong, we still had fun, but it want all it could be. Then a few years ago, DH got sick on our 2nd day there and by day 4 we were at Urgent Care. It didn't ruin out vacation, but DH didn't enjoy it like he wanted to...felt like he was dragging himself through the day Now we sort of stock up on antibiotics before any vacation and take them with us. Then, the Minute we start to feel ill, we take them.
Oh! I also worry about some sort of family emergency (like a death in the family), that would force us to cancel our trip. The minute we hit the airport, our phones are off! No more phone calls! Once out trip starts, we are totally unavailable.... If something's wrong, well find out when we return!

Illness and hurricanes are probably my top concerns. I must say, though, that having a two-week trip this time (vs. our customary one week stint) is making me relax a little on both counts. We have multiple resort days "scheduled" so we have lots of flexibility of Mother Nature delays our arrival or if someone is under the weather for a time.

I will admit that we travel with a full supply of Gravol, Imodium, Advil, Polysporin, and allergy medication ..... just in case .
