****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

I was nervous about the customs at the Winnipeg airport last year as well but found it to be less nerve wrecking and easier then when we drive down to Grand Forks. I just hope the customs in Toronto will be just as easy for us.

You have to go through customs twice? Is that cause your layover is a canadian destination?

We fly into minneapolis so i don't think we have to go through that again do we?

Are dollar store ponchos good enough or do we need the thicker ones (but not jacket thickness) from walmart?

Ugh i had more questions & forgot them.

Oh no let me explain. Last year we went via Chicago we went through customs in Winnipeg (on the way to Orlando and the way back). This year we are going via Toronto so we will be going through customs in Toronto. So when we get off the plane in TO we will have to get our luggage then go through customs. You will only have to through customs in Winnipeg. Also, just to let you know ME still considers it an international flight ever though your first stop is in Minneapolis, so you have be at the airport earlier and won't be able to check your luggage at your resort. You can only do this if you are staying at least one night in a US city.

I bought ponchos at Dollerama and Giant Tiger last year. The ones from Dollerama we're complete crap and ripped in no time. The ones from Giant Tiger were perfect they were not to heavy and did not rip at all plus they were white with red maple leaves all over them so we looked like true Canadians. This year the ones that Giant Tiger has have a different pattern of maple leaves on them so they are a bit different but the quality looks the same. I guess I won't find out if they are the same as last years until I get their and it rains. Anywho this year I'm bringing a bunch of Giant Tiger ones.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask and I will help if I can.

Ok.. that's it. I am going to pack.::yes::

I'm sitting here glued to the Disboards trying to make time pass quicker (it's not by the way:rotfl:).

Everything but clothes and toiletries can go in the suitcases right now. Wish me luck folks. We still have 11 days to go and my husband is going to look at me like I'm a nutbar for pulling out the suitcases and dropping them in the middle of the rec room but I don't care:rotfl:

Good for you!!!! :goodvibes. We have 16 days left and if I even dared getting out the suitcases yet, DH would probably disown me and call me crazy :rotfl:. I can't help it, I am really starting to get excited now since I happened to go onto the Disney website and under my reservations, they told me in 6 days I can do my online checkin :cool1:.

I have a very important question! Have you done the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream? Will this be out of the question for my son and I to attempt by ourselves? There is not a chance we'll finish it, but it would be a fun memory, I think. A little surprise for him one night, Ice cream for dinner. :rotfl:

Please let me know what you guys think if you've done it.

I've never done it but sure you can ATTEMPT it. I don't think the two of you will get very far though but it sure looks like fun the way the staff brings it out and all. How much does the kitchen sink compare in price to Wishes Dessert Party for two? If you are looking for all you can eat treats that may be an option plus you get to see Wishes with a small crowd. Keep in mind if you are only going to MK once you will miss the electrical parade.

In any event I think the kitchen sink would be a great memory for the two of you. Be sure to have a CM to take a picture or two of you with the sink.

:cool1: Offically started packing!!! 7 days! I had a bunch of clothes for my nieces and nephew (he is 10 months older, but a size smaller so he gets everything Xzavier out grew this summer, which includes 6 pairs of shorts I bought for $1 on clearence last year) so they are all packed and inventiried. Now to make a list of what I need their mom to pack for each of them.

To do list was soppose to shrink to almost nothing this weekend, but I was ill yesterday, and mom was havinga lot of pain today so we spent 4-5 hours at the hospital today getting tests. Everything seems to be fine, just some strained muscles. So now I have 7 sleeps until we leave....work 5 days, 1 day before we leave to ensure EVERYTHING is done!

I have to started to pack!!!!! Now the details. I really don't like Disney coffee so this year I am bringing my own. If I remember right the coffe in the rooms are in filters. Where can I buy small filters that fit!???

We are using the $ store ponchos but not the $1 ones - we are using the $2 ones. They seem a little bit thicker and better quality. Hoping they will be fine :thumbsup2

I am currently packing. By currently I mean I am washing things and just folding them into my suitcase, that way everything is fresh and clean. So far it is going pretty good. I just have to go grab the stuff I bought that is sitting at the boyfriend's house and I will be done. Pretty impressive for a procrastinator.

I'm bringing my north face rain jacket only because I prefer it for comfort reasons. Honestly, if I wasn't so picky, I'd probably just bring ponchos from walmart.

Exactly what we got!! I like that they have a drawstring to keep the hood on.:)
They do seem a little better than the really thin ones. Anything thicker than that is too hot in my opinion.

Does anyone subscribe to the kid's disney magazines? I saw this on Living Social this week. Its 15 dollars for a year subscription. I wonder if DH would like the Marvel one? :rotfl2:

Thanks for posting this!! I kind of want a subscription to each! haha! We would love the Marvel one too! ;)

Waiting for Wishes right now in Fantasyland :goodvibes

Love it. Enjoy!

This is how I keep my boys' rooms clean before Disney. They never put away clean laundry, so I got the suitcases out and they just put their clean clothes in there when they are dry! haha...we have had to pull some things out for daily wear, but seriously just wash them again and stick them back in the suitcases. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone who is going soon-- or is already there --has an amazing trip!!!:cloud9:

You too!! We are getting so close!!!

Did anyone happen to put together a Twitter list? I am going to live Tweet, would love to follow anyone else who is.... I think I posted it, but I am Donia Marie on twitter...

I thought most had gone to the pods and no longer took filters. I don't drink coffee myself, but I remember on another thread folks were discussing the coffee in the pods and wishing the coffee pots were more like a Keurig.

I ordered the Phineas & Ferb magazine in mid June through eversave for the same price and we received the first issue already. My 6 year old loves it.

Finally just printed out my Team August Mickey heads! I ended up resizing them so I could put them back to back. I laminated them the poor man's way - packing tape!

:thumbsup2 Those are the ones. I agree, we didnt want anything thicker because then they are just uncomfortable.
