****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

My goal was to lose 30 pounds before we leave. Does anyone know of a diet that I can lose 30 pounds in 12 days?

That depends...... how important is the survival rate?:rolleyes1

JK, I was trying to lose 30lbs also, haven't quite made it though. Oh well, I"M GOING TO DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!
:cool1::woohoo::cheer2:

I'm 95% packed..one more sleep till we see Mickey!
:cheer2::cool1::dancer:
Howdy partners!
Stayed at the Springhill Suites last night which is right near DTD. And if you're looking for an off property place, I would look at SHS!
Anyways, we are switching to the Beach Club tonight (:yay:) and heading to DTD to get lunch and shop for a bit. Then we eat at Cape May tonight at 6 then it's off to MK till 1! Well maybe not till one since we have to get up bright and early tomorrow because we are doing a tour at the Magic Kingdom!

I am just SOOO excited right now!
Sounds like your off to a great start....enjoy!pixiedust:

When you find out let me know :)

I may have found one that will gain me 30lbs in 12 days......guess we will see at the end of this trip.:rolleyes1:eek:

Ugh about your car. My BRAND NEW 2012 car has the check engine light on TODAY. Figures. Luckily whatever is wrong with it should be under warranty.... I hope. I just hope its something simple they can fix easily before we leave next Saturday. :sad2:

Today was productive for me. I hemmed DH's pants and had 0 issues. Not sure what my issue was last weekend. Then I hemmed my maxi dress that was way too long (i had to hold it up to walk). I decided not to mess with the straps... Oh and I got a travel size of Body Glide from a runner's site that had free shipping and it came in 2 days! So happy!

Now I just have to decide if I want to spend the 12 bucks for the unofficial WDW guide or not. Hrmm.......I need to decide today/tomorrow if I want to get it before I leave. If its not too late already.

That happened to me with a new car once too. It turned out that I didn't have the gas cap tight enough. Boy did I feel silly! I hope it is something as simple as that for you too!

Some of you would chuckle less and some would be less annoyed.

The link didn't work for me I think we need to friend you for it to work. Are you part of the Facebook group? Maybe you can post the photo there.

I did post it on the Facebook group. The shirts are blue. You will need to scroll to sometime last night.

Those came great! I wish my kids would agree to wear matching shirts. Unfortunately there is no way I can convince them :sad2:

My kids are 9 and 5. I tell them if they want to go to Disney then you wear the shirt. Also, we only do it on arrival day.

So, we are GIDDY, CRAZY excited that we will be sleeping in our beds at POFQ 14 days from right now!! :dance3:
Although we have been preparing ourselves for the heat and humidity, we haven't focused much on the rain... Now I'm a bit worried - are cheap ponchos enough? Should I get light rain jackets, to wear more comfortably, longer? I've read suggestions to wear Crocs or flip flops in the rain, to avoid getting athletic shoes and socks soaking wet (leading to blisters)...
Recommendations on what to pack? Reports on how it's been this week?
We won't let rain get in the way of our fun (shorter lines!!), but I want us to be as comfortable as possible. Was kind of anticipating rain like in Hawaii (daily but brief)... Is it usually longer / more intense? :confused3

Last year it rained every day during the same last week of August that we go every year. It never once stopped us from having a good time and it kept the temperature down. Don't get me wrong, the sun did come out, usually in the morning. By around 1pm the clouds would set and it would rain on and off. A poncho was more than enough protection. I think a rain jacket would have been too heavy in the humidity. Crocs or flip flops are definitely the way to go. If it does rain, your feet will dry quickly. As far as the packing list goes, do a search on the boards. There are plenty of them around. If you have a smartphone, there are numerous apps you can download.

I wish there was a way to know what the weather will ultimately be like while we are there. Since there isn't, I've learned to go with the flow. I have never had a bad time in The World! Have a great trip!:yay:

We are driving because this will be an extended vacation visiting Daytona after Disney for 3 days and then to Kentucky to visit our son for 3 days before heading back to Indy. We are staying at the FQ. I have always wanted to do a split stay between the poly and FQ. Those are my 2 favs. So maybe 2014 :)

Pigletto tooth update..

The dentist thinks there may be a mild infection around the broken wisdom tooth so to be on the safe side he's put me on antibiotics and I have to come back in a week to get it removed:rolleyes:

Seems like a pain to wait because of the antibiotic I know, but SO important. We actually lost a friend last Christmas who was not prescribed an antibiotic before dental work. Shocking and very unnecessary. I am still reeling from it. Better to be on the safe side. I like the way your dentist is so caring about your well-being. They should all be that way.

Hilarious, I almost posted here last night about my emergency diet for the next 12 days. Not quite trying to lose 30 pounds, but losing 5 would be great! (10 would be greater.)

My kids go back on 9/6, but most school districts in the area go back on the 5th.

Our district starts on 9/6 as well.
Lauren, I see that you are from WNY. What district are you in? We are in Depew.

We are in Rochester, NY and our school district is Greece.

WE ARE IN FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!! Got here a little while ago and we stopped for free oj at the welcome center. on our way to the disney outlet in st. augustine.

I need a diet to lose 30 lbs in 5 days.

We told the kids yesterday about the trip and they were completely surprised. They had no idea. They are super excited, even at 14 and 16.

Yay!!
I'm going to be checking and rechecking in the next 11 days for a few things. We got an 8:25 pm O'hana a little while ago, but I'd like something earlier. People will start cancelling the reservations that require a credit card hold pretty soon.
I'm feeling a little bad that I don't have any character meals this trip. My kids go often enough that it won't matter to them. But this is dd's friends first trip and she is SO excited. I feel like we should put one meal in there with characters so she can get pictures etc. We don't stand in character lines if we can avoid it. Maybe we'll get fast passes for Minnie and Mickey in the MK. Decisions decisions.:rolleyes1

ETA) just to give you an idea of her excitement.. we were talking about the trip the other day when she was over and she got all teary and said she was going to cry when we walked into the Magic Kingdom. We all laughed because I get teary on the first visit to the MK every single time!! She'll have company lol.

Congrats on Ohana! That time may not be so horrible depending on what time Wishes is the night you are going. You may end up being able to watch the show while you have dinner! Good luck finding an earlier time if that's what you decide.

We have so many character meals scheduled its ridiculous and my kids are 17 and 23 lol. I just love the interaction and we have gotten so many great pics over the years. One year at Chef Mickey's my son had to run away from Mickey because he was jealous that Minnie was flirting with him. It was hysterical!

BTW, I do the same thing every time I walk down Main Street the first time on our trips. People must think I'm nuts!

Ok.. that's it. I am going to pack.::yes::

I'm sitting here glued to the Disboards trying to make time pass quicker (it's not by the way:rotfl:).

Everything but clothes and toiletries can go in the suitcases right now. Wish me luck folks. We still have 11 days to go and my husband is going to look at me like I'm a nutbar for pulling out the suitcases and dropping them in the middle of the rec room but I don't care:rotfl:
