****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

About 4.5 years ago, I joined an iVillage online "expecting club" for moms who were expecting babies in Sept 2008. It was a group of about 30-40 fantastic, supportive women and (through facebook), we've gotten to know each other and have stuck by each other through 9 months of pregnancy, sleepless nights with newborns, terrible 2s, and are now watching our "babies" get ready to turn 4 and start preschool. A lot of the moms live in the Northeast and have had real-life meet ups, but I've never met any of them in person. Until now...

I just found out that one of the moms is going to be at MK on the 31st! And we were already planning to RD there that day! I'm so freaking excited! As if I needed another reason to be excited about our trip! Her DD was born the day after mine and I can't wait to see the girls together!

Funny thing, though, I was chatting with the mom and asking her all kinds of questions about her trip. Her answers? They're just going for a 3 day weekend (with her ILs for their 50th anniversary), staying at "um, something lodge" and only getting 3 day passes for the "magical kingdom". I'm lucky I was just online chatting, because I was literally LOLing at how different we are. She obviously hasn't spent a gazillion hours planning like I have! But I'm sure they'll have a fantastic trip and I can't wait to meet her in person!

That is so awesome that you are getting to meet this friend and her daughter. What a neat experience! What a great idea as well through ivillage - I have never heard of something like that but what an incredible support for mums to be/ mums!

That's so neat you guys keep having overlapping trips!!
Gina, I meant to tell you I saw Gatorgolf on Groupon again yesterday! You might want to take a look:)

I am so jealous of your Christmas trips. I tried again with my 8 yr old yesterday but he has no interest in forgoing Christmas for a trip. Why would he we he can have both?:rotfl:

I have a confession to make.. I am not ignoring the rest of you. I usually only focus on one post in the thread because I don't know how to do the multi-quote thing:blush:

Ooooh, thanks for the heads-up on the Groupon deal .... I will be checking into that tonight for sure! :thumbsup2 I have found some awesome discounts on some really neat attractions on Groupon....its been a very valuable resource for both our New Years and August trips. I love an opportunity to save some $$, and we tend to try out some places we'd otherwise probably not visit.

On another note, had to take my car into the shop today because the engine light went on. They have to order the part from Toyota and it should be in on Monday. Last thing I needed 2 weeks from our trip was a $600 car repair bill

I'm not going to allow it to get me down. I'm going to my happy place in 17 more days!!! :cool1:

Total bummer about the car :sad2: . My DH drives a brand new vehicle, but my old girl is 10 years old. I just never know when something might go kaplooey. And when it does, its usually big bucks. While none of us can help with the cost, know that we can completely empathize!!

Maybe we should meet for coffee. At Christmas we are at Animal Kingdom Lodge, dates not firm yet but tenative Dec 18 to 27. Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary on the 26th of Dec. We did breakfast at Ohana last year with MIL and her Boyfriend, thinking of doing it again this year.

DS moved out a few months ago, so this is a surprise trip for him, we miss him so much. I had no problem choosing Disney for his week away, I know he loves it as much as we do.

DD will be celebrate her 16th Bday in a quick weekend trip end of Sept (girls only), so the Aug trip is for DS and the Christmas one for DH and I. Who am I kidding I don't need an excuse to head south LOL.

August trip drive to Philly, pick up DS and fly from there to MCO.

Sept trip fly Ottawa to MCO, we have another teen with us so I didn't want the hassle of driving over the border.

Christmas trip undecided, leaning towards the 3 of us flying from Ottawa, DS flying Philly, Orlando, Ottawa for a few days then back to Philly. I can't decide though so I have not booked anything.

In the past we have flown from Syracuse and Rochester.

I am totally with ya....who needs a "reason" for another trip? :lmao: The fact that we're all alive and well and willing to travel is reason enough for us!

I hope you are able to get a great flight price for the holiday season. Ours was a little higher than I'd hoped, but I guess that's the price we pay for scheduling a getaway during a prime vacation time.

Hi all! 13 days until we leave, and I have already started packing. That doesn't make me crazy, right? I usually make fun of people who do things like this, but there are things I just don't want to forget!

And because I have a cat that would surely sleep on top of or inside of my suitcases, I've had to actually fold things, zip up the suitcase and stand it upright.

By the way...did you hear me when I said 13 days???? :beach::cheer2::dance3::goodvibespixiedust:pirate::dancer::jumping1:

Anyone want to mention things that I may or may not be forgetting? I feel like I should have a giant shopping list, but so far I just have Bodyglide and Senseo pods. Surely I'm missing something!

We're at 13 days too!!

I am assembling the things that can be packed now like ponchos and autograph books, Pins, water shoes etc.
I can't do clothing until a few days before because we're still going to be wearing it all. Tied up the last of the school items today so I have laid out the first day of school outfits and packed their backpacks.

Drat....I checked the Groupon Orlando site and can't find it :scared: . Would you be willing to post the link?

Pretty please? :flower3:

I just looked and it wasn't there
2 days ago I was browsing around groupon and saw it. We purchased a Parasailing Groupon and I was on to print it out. I was SURE I saw it because I planned to ask DH if he wanted to try it. I remembered it from your trip report I think?

Boo. I'm sorry I got you excited for nothing.:guilty:

Don't forget sun screen, Purex laundry sheets, rain ponchos, water mister, hat, water bottles, backpack, camera, chargers and of course your LGMH.

Oh, no worries! :) I tend to get excited about nothing on a regular basis, so this won't scar me one bit :rotfl: .

I have over 4 long months to continue my Groupon stalking......and I'll betcha it will come up again between now and the holiday season :thumbsup2 .

It doesn't seem real! The bags are nearly packed, paid for bags, final lists are made, driving directions to airports saved....it's almost here!
3 more nights and we are leaving EPCOT after seeing Illuminations!

I can't pack my sons clothes yet, but a lot of my stuff I can pack. My work requires me to wear very casual athletic wear, most of which I won't be wearing in Florida. and thanks for saying water shoes, that has to go on the shopping list!

Don't forget sun screen, Purex laundry sheets, rain ponchos, water mister, hat, water bottles, backpack, camera, chargers and of course your LGMH.

Sun screen: check. Purex laundry sheets: haven't decided if I'll be taking time out to do laundry, but most likely yes. Rain ponchos: have to be located, but on the list. Water mister: having little luck locating at nearby stores, so Amazon will be my best bet. Hat: no. Water bottles: also need to get from Amazon. Backpack: no. Camera: phone/Photopass. Chargers: will be packed the night of August 23rd. LGMH: laminated!

Whew, that was fun. Stan Solo, what would we do without you? :goodvibes

Some of you would chuckle less and some would be less annoyed.

Here is a link to the shirts that a fellow diser made for us. I had to wait for the kids to go to bed in order to look at them. She did a great job!

The link didn't work for me I think we need to friend you for it to work. Are you part of the Facebook group? Maybe you can post the photo there.

Actually my cousin is the groom, Michael, but he is marrying a girl named Lauren. Close but not quite. They are actually getting married in Lebanon, pa where we both grew up. Hopefully I will not be TOO sunburned for the wedding. Hey, more free food, though, sounds good to me!

I think our wedding is in Macungie. Wish we could make it. Weddings are sooo much fun- have a great time!

So cool! I am still friends with lots of moms that I met 9 years ago on Babycenter. We have talked on the phone, have met up at amusement parks, chat on facebook....I do have one friend from that group who is as obsessed with Disney planning as I am, so it's nice! Awesome that you will meet up!

So, we are GIDDY, CRAZY excited that we will be sleeping in our beds at POFQ 14 days from right now!! :dance3:
Although we have been preparing ourselves for the heat and humidity, we haven't focused much on the rain... Now I'm a bit worried - are cheap ponchos enough? Should I get light rain jackets, to wear more comfortably, longer? I've read suggestions to wear Crocs or flip flops in the rain, to avoid getting athletic shoes and socks soaking wet (leading to blisters)...
Recommendations on what to pack? Reports on how it's been this week?
We won't let rain get in the way of our fun (shorter lines!!), but I want us to be as comfortable as possible. Was kind of anticipating rain like in Hawaii (daily but brief)... Is it usually longer / more intense? :confused3

My goal was to lose 30 pounds before we leave. Does anyone know of a diet that I can lose 30 pounds in 12 days?

in exactly 7 days we will be at the airport getting ready for our flight. We have to be there super early so 5am it is. I am going to be very nervous too (for a few reasons) but i have never been through customs before or flown internationally. I have only gone across the border once since it has been strict & that was driving. I was very nervous then too but this will be worse.

Howdy partners!
Stayed at the Springhill Suites last night which is right near DTD. And if you're looking for an off property place, I would look at SHS!
Anyways, we are switching to the Beach Club tonight (:yay:) and heading to DTD to get lunch and shop for a bit. Then we eat at Cape May tonight at 6 then it's off to MK till 1! Well maybe not till one since we have to get up bright and early tomorrow because we are doing a tour at the Magic Kingdom!

I am just SOOO excited right now!
