Good morning from New Jersey! The drive has been great so far and we didn't hit much of the nyc traffic. Heading to North Carolina today.

Glad to hear it's going smooth! We leave in 9 days for our driveand I am praying for smooth sailing!!

My 9 year old is drinking milk and stretching like a mad woman trying to hit 54 inches, she's at 53 and 3/4 if she elongates her neck. She wants to ride the big coasters at Universal and Sea World so bad. We haven't been back to Universal since 2010 when she was exactly 48 inches, and while we had a lot of fun, there were moments of real tears when she found out she was too small to ride the rides she really wanted to. I felt awful. I had no idea before we went to Orlando the first time together that she would be an adrenaline junky. The very first ride I ever took her on was the Tower of Terror and she loved it so much she drug me back on three times in a row, then did the Rock and Roller Coaster five times. After that, she didn't want to ride anything that wasn't a roller coaster. We had a hard time in the MK because of it.

I was thinking of a universal/seaworld trip next year but the boys JUST hit 48 inchesand DN10 is not at 54 year so I think we will wait a few years because they aree all thrill seekers!

Since I lost all my quotes and I'm too lazy to go back, I'll just wing it.

Hey everyone, just dropping in for a quick hello. I am sooooo out of date on this thread.

I am totally swamped at work getting ready for my week off (I am the only admin person at my office, so when I'm away, NOTHING seems to get done......which means I have to pre-do almost two weeks of work before I leave ) and evenings are almost as hectic. So many to-do's to cross of the list before we leave (oil changes, car repairs...thankfully under warranty on our new 2012 Journey so no bite out of the budget...., visiting the grandparents, doing the last of the vacation shopping...oh, the list never ends ).

I have no idea who has left and who is just waiting to dash out the door, or who has a couple of weeks left like me.....but I have been thinking about y'all and hoping that you are managing with a little less pandamonium than I currently am experiencing!!!

Hoping to find some time tonight to sit back with the laptop and read through all the pages I've missed along the way. Preferably with some of my emergency chocolate stash and a Tim Hortons coffee . Now THAT'S therapy!

I hear you!I went into the last 2 weeks thinking I would come out WAY ahead and be even keel when I returned to work.....LOL so not happening....Monsoon in the phillipines caused us major extra work this week b/c that is where our sister site is (glad to do it though so they can focus on being safe,and not worry about the work getting done) and next week I now have to interview and hire 2 new managers...should be another busy, hectic, week.

I am packing now, well most of it, i work almost all week until saturday. I work till 11pm friday night & we leave to the city sometime saturday. Stan you should come have pizza with us at our hotel

Pizza hut closed down in plap so that is what is on my mind for dinner. Husband loves Joeys only but he gets that ALL the time when we go to the city.

Thanks for the offer but I'm working that night LOL.

I have a Pizza Hut and a Joeys Only walking distance from my house and have never been to either one.

Wow lol, if you like fish Joeys only has unlimited fish (real pollack, but breaded) & chips on tuesdays for only $10+ tax (if you ever go do not upgrade to the cod & haddock, not worth it hubby says).

In Virginia right now. we were stuck in traffic for almost TWO hours. Not fun at all! The gps says we should be at our hotel at 8:45.

I just got back from our quick trip to Vegas for my birthday. It was 114F over there and very humidity. I hate humidity. DH got a reality check on planning to be at the park all day. I got a test run on my new sandal/shoes... I think I might have to keep looking since I got a blister. We did tried our mister we got from Amazon, and it works amazingly well so it will be a keeper.
I spend 3 days in my suite with books and look down the strip from my nice fancy glass bay window. We got upgraded and the kids got their own room. I came to appreciate the quite time while the kids running wild in the others room.
I am little sad now since it went so fast and I am worrying our first trip to Disney will went as fast.

I am so glad some of you already had a great trip and I cant wait to see some of you in WDW.

Oh by the way, I preorder photopass+ if anyone interested in a share , shoot me a message. I never done it before but I am open to the idea if anyone want to do it.

With the photopass+ you can only use the one card that is given to your for the ride and meal pictures. Others have stated you can take a picture of the card and they can use that to add the pictures. So, if you do a share you will have to make sure other parties get a copy.

We're getting there! I just got all of the boys outfits packed. Each one is in a gallon ziploc bag, complete with shirt, shorts and undies. It makes packing and dressing each morning so much easier. It wasn't my plan to do it tonight, but I am glad I am done this one! 4 more sleeps!

YAY!!! So close. I am soooo excited about being down there! Leaving in 10 days, 6 hours, and 35 minutes! hahahaaaa! What day do you check out? Wondering if we will be there the same time.

Packed my boys. Great way to clean their rooms. ha! School uniforms all ready, oil changed, new tires on car on Monday. I need to go school supply shopping and clean the house and then I am READY!!! Just made plans to hang out with good friends this week before we go...Did I mention I am excited?

I am SO envious of you both! I've been trying for weeks... I actually gave up yesterday and didn't check today! I guess that goes to show I shouldn't have given up! I'll start checking again!!

Well I finally got into trip organizing mode. I went and picked up new ponchos from the Dollar store today. Found decent ones for $2 that have strings in the hoods which is great because it will keep them on.
The last ones we got were in 2008 and lasted us for 5 trips so I can't complain.

I made a list of groceries we'll get for the cabin, used google maps to find the places we want to eat offsite at Universal, printed out the Groupon for parasailing at the Contemporary (have to call tomorrow to set a time), and other various little loose ends.

All that's left is the packing and cleaning the house. DH is right in the middle of end of semester exams, but is done by Wednesday and then we can tackle the rest of the stuff together.

13 more sleeps!!! I am SO excited.
The only ADR I am still unsure about is if I should drop something to go to Trails End one night. It feels like we should at least try it since we'll be at the Fort. Maybe I will switch The Plaza for Trails End and we can stay around the Fort that night for the campfire with Chip and Dale and watch the fireworks from the Beach!

Question that may very well have already been asked but I missed - when is everyone back to school? Wondering when school goes back in the states and how much will this effect the crowds that last week of August? We go back Sept. 5th, I believe, think this is the same for all of Ontario? Just curious....
Well lets see if I can get any sleep. Hope all those in the World are having FUN! (Of course you are!)

Officially 2 weeks now

Our kids start school on 8/27, they will be in school on the first day of school and then we leave the next day...yes I know, please no flaming . This will be the last time we will be able to take our kids out of school and we will really miss going this time of year. The crowds are so low that you will be able to go on most rides multiple times with little wait.

My DH and Imwent to Vegas last week for our anniversary. It was 105 and we too were thinking we were prepping for FL. Oh my! Enjoy! We will be at POP 8-26 theu 9-4. :0)

Officially 2 weeks now

We go back here in Southern Ontario on Tuesday the 4th. We're flying home the morning of the 3rd.
The schools in the southern U.S. go back in August some time. It's a quiet week. Not dead, and the holiday weekend picks up a bit, but its moderate at best. You'll need fast pass for the headliners after mid morning but you'll be able to ride everything you want and waits aren't bad in the least. It's why we keep going this time of year. The only thing that is really crowded is the restaurants and that's from free dining.

And PoohsFan, you'll get no flames from me. I take the kids out of school when it's possible. My dd can't do it in a semester when she has math though.
Bottom line, I don't believe it's my place to tell someone else how to parent and especially not on a message board. Family time is important too, and we all know our own children and school commitments best.

OK so here is the question: We can't get in to our room at CBR till 3 ish. Can I activate the key to the world card at pop and have the Dinning points/park tickets? or do I have to go to CBR that morning? We have breakfast at 8:30 at Ohana on that same day So we would like to get over to the parks right after that. I would hate to have to wake up at 7 so I can get over to CBR check in then go back for Breakfast.

I don't believe you can activate your KTTW cards at a different resort, since checking in is what activates the package you will most likely have to head over to CBR. Sorry.

We also start back to school on Sept 4th. We used to go home on Labor Day but two years ago I started pushing our trips back to the last two weeks of August; that way we fly home on Friday and have a 3 day (Labor Day) weekend to adjust back to "regular" life before returning to work and school.
