Sorry guys, I haven't been on here lately.......

Just wanted to let everyone know that I had to put my loving Rusty kitty down on Friday morning. He was 14 years old and a diabetic so for him to live as long as he did was good. He was there when Victoria was a baby and used to sleep in her crib. He saw me through my abusive marriage, moving, my dad's death, my memere's death, meeting Peter and trying the squeeze his way in between Peter and I for his spot in bed. I loved him so so much!

I am so sorry :(

Nice job! I have 25 days and counting. I can't wait until our trip but I am slightly panicked about getting the school shopping done. I took my daughters out last week. Stride Rite is having buy one get one 1/2 off so they each got a pair of shoes. We struck out at a couple of stores and ended up with just two skirts and a top from children's place. And I have yet to tackle the long list of supplies. I see some good sales this week, so hopefully when DH gets paid I'll have a little left for supplies.

Ugh, school supplies shopping :scared: .

I am going to have to make a conscious effort to get off my fanny and get my boy's done over the next couple of weeks. I have ordered the uniform pieces he needs for this year (he goes to a Catholic secondary school....starting grade 11 this year so he already has a number of clothing items....but he needs some new stuff to replace the outgrown and worn tops and pants) but we're still needing all the paper and stationary products.

Guess the fam will be spending Friday night at Walmart. Gosh, we are cool sometimes :cool2: :rotfl: .

Very excited, got a lot of school shopping done, Aeropostale had some great online sales, got some jeans for my kiddos for $12.99 and $5.99 shirts. Already bought a ton of school supplies so basically just have to get their shoes and a couple more shirts.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Oh my, let me think...the Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Rancid, Misfits, Decendants, 7 Seconds, Pixies, Distillers, etc...then he likes some pop punk too like Green Day and Blink (I love those 2 myself ) He plays bass and guitar so I hear a lot of punk in my house.

SWEET!
Saw rancid live... Wouldn't recommend them....
Misfits.... AWESOME!!!! Great Live, as is Blink.

All those bands are great... And someone who knows the distillers? HALLELUJAH!

I have seen Blink many times, been a fan from the beginning. We met Tom DeLonge last year on the Honda civic tour, he was awesome. Seen Flogging Molly too, they are amazing. Sad to hear Rancid wasn't to great live. As for the Distillers, my son says you shouldn't call yourself a punk fan if u don't know them LOL.

I got some mails a few days back include ME bag tag and those Mickey name tag and a voucher book. Is that it? We didnt have our flight info added until today. Is there anything we should be waiting for? Or that is all I need?

In your document book, look on the back of the page that has the floor plan of MCO airport. If there are bar codes there for your whole group you are good. If not they will send you a ME book with vouchers in it.

In the end you really don't even need the vouchers, you can check in at the ME desk if you don't receive them.

I can't go to many pop punk concerts because I always have people tell me that I look like Tom Delonge...haha. 4 people asked me for my autograph when I saw them.

Aww, I have seen Rancid a few times live and loved them...but I am an old lady of 33! :thumbsup2 I still listen to some of my college punk- Bouncing Souls, Ramones, Social Distortion, Bad Religion, and I still love Flogging Molly.

Way to represent!

Since, as it turns out, there are more Disney punks then you would think, they should build another RR type coaster called "Anarchy", with punk music.

Only challenge: a punk band willing to be in a Disney ride.

The storms seemed to be bypassing southern New Jersey until tonight...we are just now getting a thunderstorm. They have been calling for them EVERY day though, making me think it is going to rain.

DH is out with the guys, so I am watching Tangled...;)

Same here in PA. Every day they panic us with a call for rain, strong wind, damaging hail...etc, and thankfully so far we only had one quick storm. We randomly lost all power tho' around 3am this morning for about 2 hours. No rain, no wind. Our entire area just suddenly went completely dark. It was really creepy.

We can have the wildest storm raging and 99% of the time the power stays on. Sunny, cloudless day...power outage. :lmao:

I'm hoping someone knows the answer to this because I did a search and can't seem to find it.....

We already have 7 day Park Hopper Magic Your Way Tickets as part of our package. We are thinking of doing DisneyQuest on one or two of the days and possibly a water park (which we never do). From what I can see, the upgrade to a water park and more park hopper ticket for 7 days is a little more than $20/person over the 7 day Park hopper ticket on the Disney Web site. One admission to Disney Quest is almost $50/person at the door! Am I reading the prices correctly and is it possible to upgrade our tickets once we have checked in? I am assuming it's too late to do this from home as final payment has already been made.

Yep, I hear you both about school supplies. The girls both have clothes and shoes but it is the long list of supplies that I have to get started on. I am going grocery shopping on Friday so I will be starting it finally. On 8/16 both of the schools will have their open houses and we are required to bring in all of the supplies then, so I have up until the 16th to get all of that shopping done :headache:.

We have 29 days to go  and I feel like this vacation is creeping up fast. Does anyone else feel this way? Between my work schedule and then getting the kids ready to go back to school, I really haven't been focusing as much on our vacation (at least like I had in the past)...maybe it's because we go so often. Thank goodness all of our ADRs and stuff like that are set in stone, but it is the whole getting stuff in our house organized before we pack is what what's still needs to be done. Oh well, at least we still have 29 days to get organized :lmao:.

We JUST had this conversation!!
Dd is also in Catholic high school, so we're pretty set for the uniform. I decided instead of anything new I would just stick with what we have and hem the pants again (they came undone at the end of last year). She hasn't grown at all. Besides .. I spent almost seven HUNDRED dollars getting all of her uniform pieces last year:scared: So, I think we'll be good with new knee socks and tights for the kilt.
I stock up on supplies and keep a full cupboard going throughout the year so I am pretty sure we won't need much. I am literally thinking 20 or 30 dollars will do it. I also bought the kids really nice backpacks last year intending them to last a few years so we're good there.
DD's school just went back to a "Dress shoe only" policy. She had been wearing black moccasin type shoes from American Eagle. This change makes me a little mad because all the girls will wear as far as dress shoes is those stupid little flats which last about 2 months and are flimsy. Big waste of time if you ask me but the rules are the rules.
So all in I am hoping to get school shopping done for under 60. As far as clothes for ds.. I will admit I have a bit of a shopping thing :rolleyes1
So every time I see I good sale at Lands End or AE or wherever I stock up. I probably have an entire wardrobe in the next size up for ds so I won't need anything there. He goes through shoes like crazy though so we might need those.
I like that it's still hot here when we get back so he wears his shorts etc for at least a month.

I will pack up the bags and lay everything out for when we come home so I don't have to scramble at the last minute. We get home from our trip in the afternoon.. the day before school starts.

We get home Sunday evening and school starts that next morning. Fortunately, school doesn't start until 9:15 AM which is a big help.

I've told this story a million times so I'll keep it brief. Last year we had to take ds to the hospital the day we got home. His appendix had ruptured. We spent the next 2 weeks in the hospital with him:sad2:
I'll never forget it. It was dd's first day of high school and I couldn't be there for her. My husband sent me a text at the hospital (he had gone home to be with her) and I opened it and it was dd standing on the front porch in her uniform with her backpack. I had taken one every day since kindergarten.
He also got all my daycare kids off to school that day (I've watched these kids for years and their parents know us both well) since that was the day I was supposed to start back from vacation. He took a picture of each one of them on the porch to send to their mommies too:sad1:

Such a small thing but it made all of us cry! Love that man.:)

Our house is like this! We lose power if the sun shines wrong on our house, totally randomly, but we had a big blizzard a few years ago and a hurricane last year and we did not lose power either time!

Aww, cute story!

I go back to school on Tues, Sept 4th and my kids go back the next day. I don't want summer to ennnnddddddd (whine!). I hope my Disney vacation drags by!

Catching up....

Happy birthday, sabrefan!!! And happy anniversary and happy Disney week! :thumbsup2

I just found out Country Bears is closed for Refurb during our visit. That stinks. I know this sounds stupid but I love this show for may reasons. I remember going to Disney in the early 70's and my grandma always loved that show. Every year we would visit her and go to Disney she would always tell us she wanted to see the Bears so ever since we have been going I take my wife and kids and walk down memory lane. I know for most of you it is like who cares but that show has an emotional tie for me. I also love to sing along with the music. I look forward to seeing it next year

I LOVE seeing the Country Bear jamboree. It has always been a favorite, since I was little. I was a little upset that it would be closed. And my boys love Test Track, so that was disappointing too.

Just found this thread today! Heading down to WDW in 15 days!!

 Lizzyb and :welcome:! Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure I remember you from the 2011 Aug thread. Or was it in 2010 that you went in Aug? I know I read your trip report.

Yes, you can upgrade any time within 14 days of of using your first ticket but I would do this as soon as possible. You can upgrade at any ticket center.

:grouphug: I remember when I lost my first furson. I cried for days, my supervisor thought I was being stupid - it's just a cat - not to me, he wasn't he was a family member, same as my parents.
I have no idea who, but somebody sent me a copy of 'The Rainbow Bridge' which I have treasured ever since.

My kids are ok with the CBJ being closed. But this is our second trip during the test track closure:headache:. I swear the next time we go and it's open they'll probably ride it for a day straight:rotfl:
