****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

For anyone who is looking for Disney clothes, GO TO TARGET. They have this new line of Disney clothes that are AWESOME. Or you might not want to go because you might end up spending a ton of money, like I did today.

QOTD: Do you tip mousekeeping?? I know it's optional and there's been much debate over it on these boards but since we're all friendly (and I wanted to share a picture!) I thought we can all share our opinions!

I make mousekeeping envelopes - 1 for each morning of my trip. I give $3 per day. All my envelopes are already printed and stuffed! :)

We usually tip mousekeeping at the end of our stay, instead of every single day.

And I love your envelopes!

Is anyone else living in the northeast getting tired of these crazy storms? I'm all for it raining, I certainly know we need it, but this is getting a bit ridiculous!

I'm so tired of these storms!!

That's sooo cool that you were a torch bearer!! We have a celebrity in our midst! That's nice of your coworker to give you his week. Hope you have a great time watching the games!! GO USA!!! :cheer2:

I wouldn't say celebrity but it sure was a special moment in my life. However, I did feel like a celebrity at the celebration they had the day I ran. I posed for hundreds of photos with all sorts of people that night I wasn't the celebrity the torch was. When I got home I went to a couple of schools with my torch and uniform and talked about the torch and the run.

It's funny because over the years I worked with many, many people and most of them know of my love of the Olympics some of them are calling me to ask if I'm taking time off again this year. Last year I gave one of my summer weeks to another guy with the understanding I could have one of his summer weeks this year so I could go to DW for two weeks and take at least one week off for the Olympics...then I got transferred. I was so happy when my coworker gave one of his week this year. Sometimes it pays to be a nice guy :).

GO CANADA GO!!

Speaking of getting transferred I was transferred again I think I get transferred more then piggelo changes resorts and ADRs LOL. The funny part is the boss from head office is also a big Disney World fan and told my new manager that Stan will be needing the last two weeks of August off (when I got transferred that was my biggest fear). So in short I work next week then off for a week go to my new place of business for a week then it's off to Orlando for two weeks!

That's so cool that you were a torch bearer!! We went in our small little town and stood on the side of the road. We then drove to a town an hour away to see it again!!
It was a proud day and my kids still mention it. I am so glad they got to see it!! I had my son all decked out in his team Canada gear with his toque in the shape of a Maple Leaf and he was in the paper:)
We don't seem to get very into the Summer Olympics but we are big fans of the Winter Games.:)

 & :welcome: to the DIS and our little slice of it! We are a friendly bunch and talk about anything and everything. We are a very fast moving thead so keep your arms and legs inside the thread at all times.
I love all of your ADRs and it looks like we will be at Sea World on the same day. Keep an eye open for my LGMH (yes I will wear it at Sea World). After Sea World we will be checking into POR so be sure to tell YE Ha Bob I am coming home.

A number of my coworkers nominated me and one of them paid off. I remember how cold it was when the torch came threw MB but that did not stop thousands including me from going out to see it.

I ran in Rosthern SK and had our celebration in Prince Albert one month after it was in Winnipeg and the weather was just perfect.

Sorry about the crapy spelling of your name I was on the iPad app and couldn't figure out how to go back to check the spelling of it but I knew who you were and and took a spelling chance. I was always the first one out in spelling bees.

Hey that should be in my signature.

Lol!! No problem! I didn't even notice:)

Good morning Team August!

I was thinking, I really hope all of you who are leaving soon will have time to check in and let us know how much fun you are having. I have to live vicariously thru all of you until the 28th. I want to leave sooner!!!!:rotfl2:

The good news is I'm down to weeks, not months on my countdown! WoooHooo!!!!

Hi all!

11 day countdown today! :yay:

I'm bringing someone with us on this trip who's not been to WDW for three years...

Pal Mickey!!

I've put new batteries in him and he still works... I'm hoping that Disney has not switched the infra-red signals off that make him talk in the parks... will have to wait and see :thumbsup2

Oh cool! We got him on our first trip together in 2006. We loved it but never brought it back.

That is very cool that you were a torch bearer! We too got to see the torch run past - unfortunately did not get a pic with the torch as they kept running through but we did get a picture with A torch and treasure it. It was an experience just getting to see it so I imagine what it was to be a torch bearer.

We dont get as into the summer Olympics as the winter ones (we were all glued to the t.v and pvr was filled to the brim). Maybe it is a Canadian thing? lol :confused3 That being said still cheering on our Olympians (and was very disappointed when Ryan Cochrane was disqualified in the 400  - hopefully he shows what he's got in the 1500! :cheer2:)

Think I will go watch some - think it was cycling when I tuned in last.

We will be leaving in 1 week. At this time next week we'll be on the road. Last night DH and I bought a new laptop since our other laptop is old and doesnt work too well. SO if I have a chance I will be checking in to say hi. Maybe I'll post some pics too. I'm trying to load all our programs on here before we go.

We are renting a car (great specials at Dollar.com when I clicked on City special...thanks to whomever directed me there from the original August page!). I want to find the addresses for each parking area for the parks, the airport, and Sea World. Does anyone have a suggestion for how I can get this information? Thanks!

I am assuming you want them for the GPS?
We found that a huge hassle with our Garmin. There are routes that are employee only and service entrances that it would try to take us through.

We did find once we got there that everything was marked so well that you just followed the signs and it was no problem.

ETA.. Our Garmin couldn't even find the Orlando airport before we left home! What we did in that case was before walking into the parking garage we turned it on and gave it a few minutes to find our location and update the maps. When in the parking garage it likely won't find a signal. And there's really no good place to stop when you leave the parking garage. So we took the advice we read on another thread and updated before we picked up the car.

Thanks! I know it seemed really easy to drive around the last time we were there and we did not have a GPS with us. I guess I will just focus on the airport and the resort.
