****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

I am a little jealous of y'all who can start packing. If I were to get out our Disney stuff, the kids would be asking "why are you getting that stuff out?". This is the downside to a surprise trip.

Sorry to hear some folks day isn't off to a good start. That was mine yesterday. Heck, I was in such a funk, I let my kids get a refill in their Roo's cups (Icees of course) and eat a doughnut for lunch yesterday.

Things are much better today. I just checked my calendar and we have 27 more days!

We will be there from Aug 24-Sept 3. How about you?

I'm excited! Last time we were at Coronado was prob 3-4 yrs ago and that was only a 2 day stay. I love the grounds there. Last time we never really had a chance to do the big pool so that is definitely on the to do list. DH tends to be go, go, go so I told him we need at least 1/2 day at the pool. :beach:

We'll be there August 15-24... we're checking out to move to ASMu the day you check in! I guess we'll get it warmed up for you! I've never been to Coronado and never stayed any place other than Pop so I'm VERY excited!! We're definitely spending some time at the pool.

Step by step Team August, we're getting closer every day.

So, I have a question of the day....

Is anyone else ridiculously excited for the Olympics? I absolutely love watching the swimming, track and gymnastics. Last time I also got really into the beach volleyball as well, so I'll be watching that as well. :thumbsup2

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

And a very quiet go Canada...............................LOL

I always love the Olympics but really will this year... it's going to help time pass by quicker!! :lmao: Also, I just heard they're going to do a Harry Potter / Voldemort battle during the Opening Ceremony and it's really going to be Daniel Radcliffe doing it! So exciting!! :wizard:

I don't know if this counts as a QOTD, but I was wondering if anyone else is participating in the YES program, and if so when and what class??

Just a head's up to everyone since we've talked about shoes so much- woot.com has TEVA mush flip flops on sale for $11! I'm just ordered another pair (can never have too many flip flops!) http://sport.woot.com/plus/teva-womens-sandals :thumbsup2

Hrmm...I am debating on this one. I wear 7.5 and the 8s I tried on did not fit. Well they did fit but just barely and I was afraid i would twist my ankle if I wore them. So I could order a 9 but I think those might be TOO big. If shipping were free I may do it. I've been looking online and found some 'knock offs' at Payless. They say they are in stock at my local payless so I was going to go check those out. They had really good reviews online. I'm going to go try them on sometime soon.

I got a couple maxi dresses at Walmart last night. I don't like that they straps are 'twisted'. I have one of these dresses from Kmart from a few years ago and everytime I wear it I feel like I need to 'fix' my straps. lol But I had the idea that I could cut and sew the straps on properly. I will have to look at it closer to see if I can do that easily or not. If not I may just deal with it because they were cheap and they will be cool.

I also got 3 ponchos and some moleskin. One poncho for me, one for DH (i got him an Iowa one) and a cheapy clear one for the ECV. So I have a nice little start to my stock pile. Oh I was out of hairspray and when I bought more I got one that has 'UV blockers' and 'climate control' to use at Disney. It's full size but since I'm driving I guess that's not an issue. They didn't have a small version. I only use hairspray when my hair is up which it will be everyday down there. :)

24 DAYS TO GO!!!!!

Morning my fellow Augustonians! Had a rough night with my boy, he got some kind of viral bug that gave him a fever up to 103 yesterday and most of the evening. I finally got it settled by 3am to about 100. Checked his throat this morning and it looked awful, got him to the doc, no strep :cheer2: But, even though hes 14, mama bear cant sleep when her cub is sick so I am exhausted. Perked me up when I saw my ticker today though. I can finally say I am 1 month away from Disney!!!

Off to take a nap while he's resting, I shall be back later to try to catch up on what I've missed. Seems like quite a bit!

Have a good day all!

This may be a really dumb question but what is in your Mickey mail? I know there will be stuff for the Magical Express (we are only taking on the way home as we are staying overnight near the airport one night before going to the Poly.) Just wondering, Thanks!

We just got our in the mail yesterday and we will be there on the 25th of Aug. It had luggage tags with the 3D picture and a booklet with coupons (mini golf, arcade and some others) and a photo pass. You would have though we had won the lottery the way DW acted, it was sooo cute. It also happened that we got our passports yesterday and our Photopass Plus the day before. I think the trip is becoming very real to us with this mail coming in. So nice to get something other than bills.

I am looking at 14 days from today!! My biggest concern is that I have a 5k on the Saturday before we leave. I'm running in the Dirty Girl. I am hoping I don't get hurt....lol

Le Cellier is 1 credit for lunch and 2 for dinner until January 1, when they both become 2 creditsJ

Thanks- wish I had paid more attention before! Oh, well. I'm happy with our Akershus girls-only lunch on our Epcot day!

I just ordered these-thx for the heads-ups. BUT, I ordered 2 pairs at $25 ea. a couple weeks ago!!:headache: So I have the $11 ones on the way, but man, if I would have just waited.....

I had just ordered $25 ones, too. Haven't even received them yet. I'll be sending those back!

I don't know if this counts as a QOTD, but I was wondering if anyone else is participating in the YES program, and if so when and what class??

I didn't hear about the YES class until it was too late, but would definitely sign one of the kids up next time we go!

We leave on the 25th, too, but no DME or Mickey Mail yet :worried: Maybe today! Our DME was mailed on the 18th, so it has to come pretty soon. Even if they sent it by pony express!

Glad to hear your DS doesn't have strep. Hope you had a restful nap!

I'm getting pretty excited about our trip! I go visit my DB in Maine next week and I still haven't figured out how to tell him he is going with us to WDW! To make matters worse, my DSis, who I was going to surprise our first day at AKL with my DB just "showing up" at the hotel, now wants to go with me to Maine. I need a show of hands: Do I tell DSis that DB is going on our trip when we see him next week or keep it a surprise from her til we get to WDW? I wanted to talk to DB about our trip after I told him and fill up the weekend with excited chatter, but I can't if we want to keep the surprise from DSis (which I really want to do). I can't decide what to do. Help me fellow August peeps!:worship:

Sorry for the rambling...:surfweb:

Ds is doing synergy abd science with dh at epcot aug.6. It's the only one we could get him in since he is 6. Wouldn't have been first choice but he is excited.

 Thank you.

I woke up exhausted. I walked into the bathroom and apparently someone had locked the cats out of the litter (it's in a large storage closet in the bathroom) so the poor thing peed outside the door. I of course stepped in it.

And things just keep progressing in that manner. Some family drama I didn't want or need etc.
I think I need to just not answer the phone and stay inside and start over tomorrow.:rotfl:

Hope you feel better soon. Poor kitties. I vote no more answering the phone!! Sending you happy thoughts and pixie dust! :goodvibes

Welcome!!! Sounds like a great trip. This is my first trip to WDW and I've never been to Universal either. We thought about doing both this trip but decided to give WDW full attention. Maybe we will do a split stay next trip. ;)

We leave on the 25tb too! Mailman already came, and we live in an apartment and I heard him drop something by the door. (I took today off of work, a lot of anxiety) I thought for sure it would be our Mickey mail... Nope. Just dbf's gamefly game :(

1 more month!!!!:banana::banana:

Anyone else trying to loose a few pounds before the trip? I had a good run in the cooler weather today so I'm feeling pretty good that I can shed some.

I'm so glad that the Olympics are coming up in a few days so it will help make the time go by faster. So much better than reruns!

I didn't see my resort on the resort list yet but we are staying at AK.

And I requested to join the fb crew so I hope I get accepted. :hippie:

Have a good night everyone and may you all have Disney Dreams!:cloud9:

I realized I forgot to reply to this! I am trying to lose weight too. Not so much for Disney but for next IVF (fertility drugs made me gain 20+ lbs). I tried Atkins for about 4 weeks and I lost 5 lbs easily but then I was stuck and I got frustrated and switched to calorie counting (my usual) and I'm now down nearly 8 lbs in a total of 6 weeks. I am hoping I can get a few more off before Disney and then all that walking offsets the horrible eating I will be doing. :rotfl2: I am also exercising a little but not enough bc I've been having back issues. I am going to a chiropractor and trying to get things 'striaghtened out' before Disney. ;)

I'm staying at AKL too!!

Wish me luck, friends! I am off to take the math placement exam, as I am returning to school (after 11 years) this fall. I was all panicked thinking I need to ace this test so I can get into a prerequisite math class that I need so I can move on to the science courses (that are also prerequisites for my major and plan for grad school!). But as I was cramming I realized that some of this stuff I just don't get! Since I never really had the opportunity to learn it when I was younger, than it isn't such a terrible thing if I have to start out in a basic class. I would like to actually understand what I'm doing!

So here goes! And then back to reading these boards obsessively. :goodvibes

BOO it says I need a US shipping address :(

Could you possibly order them before your trip, and have them shipped to your resort? (or to your park and fly hotel, if applicable?) That's what we usually do, and it works wonderfully!

Hooray for one month! Same here. :cheer2:

One month for our family as well! :dance3: I can hardly believe it.....time is just FLYING by.

Today is not my day. I'm sure we all have them. Woke up tired and things are just going poorly. Nothing major and I count my lucky stars for that.. but boy am I wishing vacation would get here quick:rolleyes1

I am at 29 days today:cool1:
There's something to be excited about.

Maybe I'll pull out the suitcases today or start making packing lists to cheer up:)

Aw, so sorry to hear  . Go grab yourself a nice, big, Tim Hortons coffee and an apple fritter and take an hour to yourself. Wish we were in closer proximity and I'd join ya ;) . We could talk Florida and teenagers and compare family drama.......if you had ever met my inlaws (or my siblings, for that matter!!) you would know what I mean :rotfl:.

I was disappointed too about needing to have an American address to send it to but this is a good idea. How exactly does that work?

I went back after 15 years! I'm a long way from done and not completely sure what I'm doing. Good luck! I did terrible on math placements, just finished my third if 3 non credit maths to just get to college math. I am terrible at it, I spent a lot if last 2 semesters crying and struggling. I passed, because she noticed my effort(AKA I failed but she passed me:(
I hope you do well

Okay...how bad am I? We are getting a new color copier/printer in my office today and I haven't printed off my Mickey heads because I'm afraid my at home printer won't do them justice. Now with this brand new printer they should look awesome!! :lmao:

I printed mine off at work on our really nice copier and they look more like kelly green than lime. I don't know what to do about it. :confused3 Should I try to lighten the color a little? Or is there only one choice of lime green on the paintbrush spectrum?

cinnderly - good luck on your test!:cheer2:
