****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

I have never stayed at the BC before. In fact, I have never stayed at Disney property before so I absolutely cannot wait! I think I have read every single post /review that has ever been made about BC on Trip Advisor and any other site that comes up when I google. I'm glad you like it, I love that it is a five minute walk to Epcot--we have a lot of ADRs there! :)

I'm staying at the BC too and I cannot wait!

To each their own I guess. Takes all kinds to make the "World" go round :lmao: I can't imagine wearing anything but sneakers doing all that walking in Disney. So we can both think the other is a little nuts. But hey we will both be in disney so it is all good! ::yes::

:thumbsup2

I am in the flip flops camp, but my boys will only wear sneakers down there!

I wear nothing but Reefs in Disney World. So comfortable!! As a matter of fact, I wear nothing but Reefs from May to September!

For me, it's Rainbows! Love love love them. It's all I wear as soon as it is warm enough.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I am brand new to this site and hope I am posting correctly!
I am going to DW August 27th through September 3rd for my Honeymoon! We are staying the Beach Club resort. I am so excited I can hardly stand it! :) Have really enjoyed reading all of the posts. :)

Welcome and congrats- what a great place to honeymoon! :)

I marvel at people who can do two things in the parks
1)wear heals of any kind in Disney World and
2)wear flip flops- I just cant stand anything between my toes, nope, just can't do it. :confused3

I'm the same way, it is amazing what some people will where on their feet just to look good :sad2: One time we were in the queue for HM behind a family where the mother was wearing 6 inch stiletto heals :scared1:....I kid you not. DH and I just looked at each other and shook our heads, I guess I know know where the creators for Modern Family got the idea of having Gloria wearing her stilettos while walking around DL :rotfl: (I hope everyone saw that episode :goodvibes)

As for flip flops, I am also the same way, I love them when I am just running to the store, but I could never wear them for a whole day at Disney. Give me my gym shoes and crocs and I am good to go ;). To all of you flip flop wearers, I do envy you because you all look like you are very comfortable in them, it's just my feet won't allow me to wear them myself.

Same here. By 180 days out when I make my ADRs, I pretty much know which park I will be in.

Does anyone else have the Touring Plans app and check wait times every once in a while, just for fun? Or I am weird? :)

I don't have that app but I often check the Disney magic app for the weather. It amazes me how nice it is there when its 100 here. lol

I wear my rebok running shoes. Mind you, I don't run anywhere :rotfl2: but they are comfortable, lightweight and supportive. They are my only shoes I normally wear. This trip I will be taking a pair of sandals for my dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse to wear with my maxi sundress. That is the only place I will wear them.
I am more comfy in my Nikes too. :) I can't imagine wearing HEELS at WDW! I don't even last in them for weddings. Last wedding I was at I wore heels at the ceremony but changed into flats before even going into the rehersal.

Welcome!!!! Sounds like an awesome anniversairy!!

Meanwhile thank you all for talking about school jobs!! I got my school counseling masters degree in 2006 (wow that was 6 years ago!) but never got a full time job doing it. Each summer I look at and apply for jobs but this summer I haven't because my license is expired (why renew it when I am not working as that?) but I figured I would check out the local school district employment site because you all were talking about it and found a position where they are technically looking for a social worker but my qualifications match everything else and it didn't mention a license. So I applied for it! I hope I get it!!! It has a start date of 8/14 though and I wouldn't be able to start that fast with my current job (and Disney lol). They would need at least 2 weeks notice so unless they are interviewing and hiring me this week I won't make that 2 week deadline for a start date anyway. That would be so awesome if I got it! I'm so excited!!! I hope I get an interview! Prayers and pixie dust please! pixiedust:

See I used to be a firm fan of Sneakers in Disney. But Man, Im LOVIN these Tevas!! It feels like there tiny temperpedic matresses attached to my feet::yes:: and since Im not planning to run to any attractions this trip, I think these will work just fine. Im bringing my Croc flips just in case though~

Hi! I read this and instantly thought of the recent Modern Family episode in Disneyland, where Gloria wheres huge stilettos into the park, and then ends up wearing Minnie Mouse plush shoes :goodvibes

I wear Havianas Flip Flops in the parks now, I find them more comfortable and (hopefully) never get blisters from them :thumbsup2

That's just ridiculous. I've seen people wearing heels at Disney and I wonder how that can be comfortable.

I'm so excited about the Olympics! DH and I are always glued to the television when they are on lol.

Today and tomorrow are going to be stressful for me. I graduated in December in Special Education and I have been a teacher assistant at a school for kids with Autism for six years. I went on an interview at a school like the one I'm at now for a teaching position two weeks ago and they called me to do a mock lesson so I did that last Wednesday. They said there were 5 candidates and 3 positions open and that they would be calling either today or tomorrow. I felt good after the lesson so I'm praying I get this job! Needless to say, I will be a nervous wreck the next two days lol. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Sending out pixie dust your way. Good luck!!!!!

Same here, I can't stand flip flops.

I saw that episode and loved it.

What Disney podcasts do you listen to??

We listen to a few different ones. The DIS, WDW today and my favorite is Be Our Guest Podcast! I just love Mike and the crew they are so down to earth!

On one road trip I stumbled across a scrapbook/disney/moms podcast but I never could remember the name, so I haven't been able to find it again.

Do you listen to any good ones?

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!! We will be there the same time, but at Coronado Springs. I've always wanted to stay at the Beach Club.

That's exactly what I was thinking about. I loved that episode!

We are driving to Disney too. Its about 21 hours for. We haven't driven to Disney before but we've driven to Texas and the Smokies so we've driven long trips. I like to bring books for when i'm not driving. Also getting books on cd (or downloading them to mp3 player) are great too if you're the one driving. I drove to NC from IL by myself when I was in college and I took books on cd and it really made the time fly. Finding something that both DH and I like is hard though. Also if you like podcasts that would be another thing you could download and listen to. My DH does a podcast and I rarely listen to it but when I went to chicago for a bridal shower I downloaded his podcasts and listened to them on my trip. It was great for passing the time. Maybe I will download some DIS board podcasts for this trip!

If you like games there are lots of driving games like car bingo and whatnot you could play too but if its just you and your mom that might be hard to do. :)

Have fun!

DH downloaded about 300 disboards podcasts for the trip... Which is only 22 hours! Can you tell he's excited? :) I love it!

Good luck with your new job this year! I switched from 1st grade to 6th grade last year. It was definitely an adjustment, but I love middle school!! Hope you like it too.

Thank you!! I know I will....but I'm used to the same set of students for 80 minutes!! Now I'll have 2 different group of students, at the same time, for 40 min.!! Just need to learn how to balance my time! But the good news is I'll be working 2 min. from my house...and working in the same school that DD goes to! And will have a much smaller case load (13 compared to 20) and will not have to do transition plans except for those going to high school! Whoo hoo!! Glad to hear that you liked middle school....I don't think they can be worse than high schoolers...right?!?!

I wear nothing but Reefs in Disney World. So comfortable!! As a matter of fact, I wear nothing but Reefs from May to September!

For flip flops I also wear reefs. After 2 foot surgeries and reconstruction of a tendon these are the best flip flops. This is the kind I buy.

Those shirts are AMAZING! Wish I was that creative, never heard of Etsy... is this an American site? I am wanting to do shirts but have not tie dyed since I was a camp councillor 5 years ago and think that they may all turn out dishwater colour lol. May cheat and just do a coloured shirt with puff writing and maybe a t-shirt transfer.QUOTE]

This is the site that I ordered from: http://www.etsy.com/listing/93738666/famous-mouse-tie-dye-t-shirt
She was so great to work with! I don't know if it is American only. Etsy is a site where crafters can sell their goods online.

I wasn't sure what the dates were for the Olympics...I guess I have been spending my time obsessing over our 2 Disney trips coming up:) It will be a nice way to pass the time before our trip comes....so glad we won't miss any of it for our trip!

Good luck! DH started out teaching in special Ed and loved every minute. Im sending extra pixie dust your way!

About QOTD: I love the Olympics though I'm not a sports person by any stretch. But I got home from work today and DH, DS6 & DD4 were cuddled on the couch watching the Pixie Hollow Games (awesome show with Tink & friends competing in Olympic style games). DH is still teasing me for the wee bit of crying I always do at the end. :)
