***Official August 2010 Thread!! Come Join Us In The Countdown!*****

I'm going to try and make it.... that is our Epcot day. We have dinner that night at WCC before Illuminations. I'll have to run to the "Depot" to get some mickey heads.... I don't have a picture of us either (nor do I know how to post pics on here :)) I'll just look for the Mickey heads!

18 days for me!!!!

We had Thanksgiving dinner at WCC in 2007. It was great!

Here is how you post pics if you should come up with one. When you click to respond, you get this little box I'm typing in. There are icons just above the typing box. The third from the right, that looks like a postcard is to insert a photo. The photo needs to be hosted... you can't actually upload one from your computer. So, I use pics I've already posted on facebook. I go to the facebook picture, right click on it, which brings up a menu. At the bottom I select Properties. When that window opens, it shows the URL for the photo. copy it. then go back to this typing window... click the postcard icon and past the link into the box. click ok, and you're picture is inserted. What that little box does, is it takes your photo link and inserts
after the URL. You can do that by hand... but the icon is faster. If you have photos on facebook, myspace, kodakgallery.com or anywhere... you can use those pics the same way.

That's ok. You can recognize us! Disboarders recognize each other by our lime green Mickey head tags. (a.k.a Disney green Alien head paint chip from home depot).

WOW thats awesome! Looks like I'll be missing most of you :sad1: I'm going to get the "lime green tag" and I like your name tag too. I'll put it on my backpack. Hopefully I'll meet some of you :)

I'll be leaving on the 3rd and staying until the 9th. :thumbsup2

It's going to be just my best friend and I. She's never been there but she's already ordered her mickey ears online to wear on the plane. :D

I need to get to Home Depot and office depot for the printable window clings! Need to print my t-shirts! We're going to do matching Pittsburgh Penguins shirts one day instead of Disney. Maybe even a Pittsburgh Steelers day as well. So much to do in so little time!

Where do you get the printable window clings? What is the brand name? I think this would be perfect for our room.

Thanks!!

8/18-8/25 at the WL. Surprise birthday trip for my soon to be 14 yr old!

Great job on the Mickey heads, Mindy! I decided to give mine a black cardstock background, and this is how they turned out...

I love your name tags. Where did you go to print them?

I would also love to know this!!!

Funny you should ask. A really nice Disboarder, who is also a Disunplugged correspondent for Disneyland, Disname ImTooExcitedToSleep, made them for me. We became "disfriends" on the July09 trip planning thread. They're jpg files so I can reprint and resize as needed. I'm sure if you PM him, he'll make one for you. Tell him I sent you. :thumbsup2

Last night I removed all the pins from my lanyard (plus I had some I had never used) and pinned them to the Mickey Head banner. I like them there. Now I can display them in my Pop window. Its too hot to wear them. Besides, one time, I was rushing in and out of Animal Kingdom. I'd run to catch the bus, I was ON the bus which had pulled away from the bus bay, I looked down and saw several pins were MISSING:scared1: I shouted to the bus driver to STOP... My PINS!!! He was SO nice. He pulled back into the bus bay, I got off, and went back to retrace my steps. Thankfully, someone :littleangel: was watching out for me and I actually found ALL the pins that fell off. Most had somehow flung off and rolled into the small soda machine shelter over by the AK bus bay #1. I'm so amazed that I even saw the glint of something shiny over there and went to check it out. I hadn't even been within 10 feet of the shelter. After that.... I decided too many pins on a lanyard is NOT a good idea.

If you were wonder what the other long tags on safety pins are... those are towel tags. When you stay at a DVC resort, you don't get daily maid service (only on Wednesday). We do however have a washer/dryer in the 1-3 bedroom units. So, I made the towel tags so that we could mark our towels and be able to identify them if they get tossed in the dryer, washed or mixed up in any way. Some of the towel tags are made with old summer camp iron-on name tags stitched to a canvas strip. One is a "Made By" tag, two of them I didn't have name tags for so I used fabric paint. Its also a good way to mark towels at the pool.

Thx for the info. And the pin story! I had a problem keeping my pins on. So I just decided I wouldnt wear them. TOO MUCH $$ spent to loss them!!! I would have got back myself if I lost some!
