Wow - how can you remember that? I totally don't remember that much detail. Good job!

I'm 34, so the actual story was before my time, but I remember how they created the back story when Sabrina was brought into the picture. We didn't take vacations when I was a kid. Summer was for the garden. We'd pick a bucket of peas or butter beans, then plop down in front of the TV and watch soaps while we shelled them. I grew up with these characters!

I loved the summer romances. Holden giving Lily the carved cat was one of my alltime favorites! I loved Andy and Paul's friendship. They are aging the kids so fast these days, we don't get to see much of that.

And if anybody needs to come back, its Dr. Dixon. He is an awesome actor that just disappeared. And he is Dusty's stepfather, so he could have been part of his story. Since Andy is married to Carly in real life, I keep thinking they will bring him back. I guess he's home with all those babies Carly keeps popping out!

Since some of the newer viewers may not know who Andy is: He is Kim and John Dixon's son, Dusty's stepbrother, and Paul's best friend from childhood-so he could play into alot of storylines. And he has a biracial child that Lily raised as her own for awhile....See the possibilities!

And, Meg Ryan played Betsy Andropolus (sp?)...this was all with old Margo and Tom and Craig and Cricket, Sabrina and Frannie - when the show was really good. The old Ellie was the best too and Iva...I could go on...

But I didn't like Meg Ryan as Betsy. I liked the tall one-can't remember her name-that replaced her. I thought Meg's Betsy was too silly. I was shocked when I went to see Top Gun in 7th grade and there was Betsy! I loved Steve Andropolus, though. And Danni was the cutest little baby. I didn't like the most recent Betsy and grown up Danni, though. They didn't stick around long.

Too many memories: do you all remember the Mr. Big storyline? Franny was a little girl then, and Tom and Margo were involved. I can't remember much, but I remember loving it at the time.

I remember when Betsy and Steve's wedding was the big daytime event of the yr (BTW Betsy's maiden name is stewart she is 1/2 sister to Emily. Daniel Stewart was their father)

Teenage Lilly finding out Josh and Iva were her parents and thinking that Holden was her uncle. She and Dusty ran away together

Heck I even remember when Paul was a baby and Barbara came back to town. When she left James she put Paul up for adoption. Then she came back to Oakdale, James hunted her down, they reconciled and got Paul back.

anyone Remember Frannie's fiancee that turned out to be a killer? Douglas I believe. He was Lisa's first partner in MonaLisa

I remember Lucinda sending her lover Craig off to resuce the daugher she abandoned (Siera)

Tom being sent by his girlfriend (Maggie I think was her name) to rescue her niece (Margo) from the enemy of her former lover (the former lover was James)

I grew up watching the show with my mother/grandmother/aunt who all started when it was a 15 min radio show

No but do you remember Doug? I'll never forget that one day my aunt (who got me hooked on ATWT - she used to watch me on Wednesdays and every Wed. at 2 we would watch "our story" and then at 2:30 we'd get a freeze stick) That was waay off topic, sorry, anyway she came to our house one Saturday and said "I saw Doug" and I was like "Who?" And she said "Doug! We were in the pet shop uptown and he was in there and I said to him (she hit him on the shoulder ) "Hey, you're Doug" and he said, "You're right, I am" and that was it...Sorry, just had to share...

I loved the Mr Big story line -- it was on of the first that I remember really watching with my mom - before it was always "If you play quietly during my soap - I will let you watch - The Electric Company - when its over"

Oh the days when we had three stations and PBS --

But Margo and Tom being held captive by Mr Big -- that was exciting!!

I can't remember which one, but either Betsy or Emily one didn't know Dan was their father. then she moved in with Dan. Maybe around the time he married Kim.I remember Emily wearing really full frilly dresses, and Betsy broke her leg and was crutches around that time.

I love this! And I so remember the days of 3 networks and PBS. My kids look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them about it. I was so excited when the Fox network was created-5 channels to watch!

I do remember John finding out about Margo, and John's rape case. And I think Lisa is still as beautiful as ever. I loved John and Lucinda together. I forgot about Andy being Margo's brother when I was talking about all his connections. I wish they'd bring back some of the old favorites (and not slaughter the character like they did with Adam!) instead of bringing in all the newbies.

I'm new here, but I'm loving this discussion! My mom has watched ATWT since day one and I've watched since the day I was born.

Do you remember when Lisa was married to Whit McCall and he had a really cute son (I can't remember his name Christian or Kyle???) and he hung out with Marcy (Marissa Tomei sp?) and I think Franny?

I loved the Mr. Big story. Even my brother, who was a teenager at the time, watched during that story line. He also liked the Duncan/Shannon story. He would be embarrassed if he knew I was talking about this!


I don't get to watch very often now that I'm working full time but my mom keeps me caught up.

He also liked the Duncan/Shannon story. He would be embarrassed if he knew I was talking about this!

I loved that storyline too - it was one of the best - with the all the castles and wonderful landscape settings - Duncan's accent - the chemestry he and Shannon had was electric - great memories!

There was a Bryan McCall, did he maybe marry Barbara? I can't remember!

Now I'll have to call my mom and ask! She'll remember the whole storyline.

I wonder if the will ever bring up Sam (lucinda's sister)and Kirk again.
When they dissapeared it seemed (to the viewers)that James had some hand in it, but everyone on the show thought they had just taken off together.

Also Lucinda's other realitives (sbblings) connor and evan(?) connor married Cal (lilly's grandfather) but had an affair with Mark Kassnouf(spelling?)

Or was evan the name of the guy that was in love with Frannie at one time and had a younger sister courtney(?)

Week of March 5th:

From Lynda Hirsh:
Gwen receives a package from Adam containing her wedding ring. Gwen and Maddie dig for Adam's body, but it's not there. They realize somebody knows what they did. Gwen fears Jade learned the truth and moved the body. Luke tells Holden he's not going on the class trip to Florida for spring break. Luke finally admits that the trip is a hook-up scene — and he doesn't have anyone. Dusty presses Emily to tell Jack the truth about her bruises, but Emily insists that the bruises are her business — and not a police matter. Emily arrives to talk to Cheri and discovers Dusty asking Jack about Cheri's escort service at the Avalon. Jack agrees to look into it. Paul picks up Ethan's teddy bear and has a disturbing vision of a covered baby and a screaming woman. Paul urges Holden to destroy the teddy bear before the vision becomes a reality. Ethan gets a bear identical to the one Holden destroyed. Katie is stunned when Vienna announces that she and Henry are in love. Jack and Katie are growing close.

They are married in real life. He married Duncan's daughter Beatrix on the show. When Duncan married Jessica and had Bonnie, they refused to accept the relationship. That's the last I remember hearing of them.

I loved Sam and Kirk. The last I saw of her she was a correspondant on Fox News! She's also been in some commercials. She had just found her daughter Georgia when they disappeared. It ended very abrubtly. Terry Lester played Lucinda's brother. He killed the other sister-can't remember her name but she played India on Guiding Light. He had been abused by Lucinda's mother. (Remember the scene where she made him hold the puppy while she killed it when he was little!) He died in real life recently. He was the original Jack on Y&R.
