It's April! We can officially say we're going to Disney THIS MONTH! pixiedust:

I also have awesome news: This morning, the cast list for The Little Mermaid was put up. I got to school at 6:45 in the morning, ran to the auditorium door, and discovered that...

I AM PLAYING ARIEL!!!!!

We don't have an Ariel smiley, so I'll just put some of these here since I KNOW someone 'up there' decided to sprinkle some pixie dust on my day:
:tinker::tinker::tinker::tinker::tinker:

So now this trip will be filled with much research for costuming (I'm usually on the costume and makeup team anyway) and much buying of various Little Mermaid things, because I never want to forget this! :D

Congratulations!!! That is SO awesome!

We have 6 more days. As we get closer each day seems to get longer and longer. My boys have never been before and I can't wait to share the magic of WDW with them. :)

I think I'm down to 16 days now and I am in sheer panic mode thinking I have forgotten something.

21 days! Finally remembered to order our Photopass+ this morning. Thank goodness.

Three weeks from right now, we'll be aboard our plane, waiting to taxi down the runway. :)

DH has thrown me a curve ball this week too- he walked in on Monday night and casually announced that his company is (once again) considering closing his office here in Colorado. If they do, he will either have to become a remote employee working from home (which he really doesn't want to do), or we would have to move to San Francisco (assuming they offer relocation benefits, which they probably would).

We went through this a year ago, and I was in a total frenzy for a whole month waiting for the "decision" to be made by tptb, and it actually felt a little anti-climactic when they decided to keep the office after all. I think I'm handling it a little better this time around, but DH isn't all of the sudden! He is such a ball of stress that he has been impossible to be around for 48 hours, lol! I'm just choosing to focus on Disney instead. With only 5 weeks left until we leave (yay!!!!), NOTHING is going to interfere with this trip! (Hopefully I didn't just jinx it, ha!)

Well, today is THE DAY. The "big bosses" are flying in from California to deliver the bad news in person, that they are indeed closing DH's office. :scared1: (He of course, is not supposed to know this yet, but his immediate boss has been secretly keeping him in the loop)

So it's been a very stressful 24 hours, and at this point I just want to know what we're dealing with. The uncertainty is driving me crazy! We are assuming that he will have the option to either be a remote employee working from home (I see this as being a disaster honestly, both for him AND us!) or move to San Francisco. We've gone back and forth, thinking we should just move and get it over with, since it would probably be better for his career in the long run anyway, and then thinking we have way too much going for us here in Colorado and need to try as hard as we can to stay. :confused3 And then the super-pessimistic side of me starts worrying that they'll do something crazy and just lay everyone off instead. I know the chances of that are next to nothing, but still...it would be disastrous if it did happen.

Sigh. I just want to focus on Disney and the fact that our trip is barely 2 weeks away, but now I have this huge cloud of stress putting a damper on everything! :mad: Maybe I'll go blast some Disney music and try to forget all these tedious, real-world dilemmas!

I hate that, when you can't just enjoy the pre-Disney bliss because of other stressors. That's how I felt a couple weeks ago when I was dealing with health stuff, I felt like "who gives a crap about Disney, I have more important things to worry about!" :(
Hopefully everything will be just fine and you can get back to worrying about the important stuff like which snacks to get or which desserts to order. pixiedust:

Five days!!!!:banana::yay::dance3:

The wait is killing me. Suitcases are out. Mickey shirt is clean. Is it too soon to start packing?

No!!! We are at 4 days and been packed for over a week. Well I have my travel companion plans on throwing things in suitcase night before we leave. I think my mother does these things just to make me crazy!!! LOL

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I' m at 10 days and already have the kids 100% packed. I will pack my stuff in the next couple days, then DH this weekend.

Ok so just after I sent this, went to dentist, had a repeat root canal and I am now in terrible pain! 2 Aleve and 2 Vicodin later and no relief! Ugh, please God and pixie dust fairies, don't let this be anything more than a night of discomfort!!

On the other hand realized one lifesaver I forgot to put on my list... Popup hamper!

Every day will get better. I am 3 weeks out tomorrow. Aty least you got the vicoden. My dentist told me to keep taking Advil.

A few days after my root canal my back went out and I booked it right to the Dr. and she had no problem, giving me Vicodin and Valium. Thank goodness, I wouldn't have made it without. I don't know why dentist are so reluctant to give you a decent pain killer. I went to a Endodontist too. My regular dentist has to put the special sealer on the cap, since the endo had to drill through it. The dentist said it would be 3 weeks to a month, before the tooth isn't "traumatized". His word, not mine. Hope you feel better every day, and you can look forward to your trip.

What a bummer! It just HAD to happen weeks before Disney didn't it?
As much as moving sucks (and I've done it 4 times in the past 4 years) I'd probably take the move. My DH has been around quite a lot lately, and nothing throws off my groove more than him constantly looking over my shoulder. He's finally working mostly 9-5 now, and the long weekend we had was soo nice, because it wasn't just like every other day. I doubt I could handle him working from home.
Obviously, do whatever is best for your family though!

I'm slowly chiseling away at my to do list. It has both Disney and non-Disney things on it, so yesterday I finished painting the bookcase I built back in January (the weather has been so awful lately and I hate painting with the windows closed) and put most of our books on it.

Today, I began work on DS's Peter Pan costume. I still have to make his hat, belt, and dagger, but the tunic and "leggings" are done. It was a bit more frustrating than I expected it to be, but it turned out well enough to let him wear it, and FITS, which is much better than my first attempt at his Halloween costume last year! It only took me a couple hours and cost less than $10.
I'll post pictures on my PTR once I get all the other pieces put together.
