yeah, and you don't want to deal with moving them, especially if they are in LOVE with it!! ;) I am cranky enough from switching to a mermaid room our last night from a suite!

My kids would "like" a deluxe, but it wouldn't wow them yet, not like AoA. They are at the perfect "in your face" disney ages. The Nemo pool alone might make them forget about the parks, LOL

i' ve pulled myself together now. i was near panic mode trying to decide if I should switch.........but i know AoA is better for us. mainly for the suite factor.....we dont ever go away and stay in a regular hotel room; we usually rent a condo and this isnt the trip we want to experiment with staying in the same room. although we' ll find out soon after when we leave AoA and get on the cruise! :D . Although i think the cabin has a curtain between the 2 sleeping areas......should be interesting anyways

So I've got a dilemna too!

I want to add dining package, but the only way I could afford it is if I drop the trip ins. (and some other things).

Would you all drop the trip ins?

Pros and Cons????

It's not winter weather or hurricane season. The reasons we wouldn't be able to go would not be covered under insurance (job related). I would cancel it. But if you think you would be stressed out without it keep it. There isn't always the best "value" with the dining plan, but I loved food paid before we arrived (I had tips in printed envelopes already). Don't forget you have until 3 days out to add dining plan if you want, but insurance would need to be cancelled outside 45 days?

Have you already added the trip insurance? I didn't think you could cancel it once you had it, but I'm no expert for sure. We are going to get the insurance for the first time this trip (waiting until the last minute to add it though).

My biggest concern is something happening while we are there that would make us have to leave early. Last time we went (2010) I got several panicked messages from my dad and brother one afternoon, and when I first found them thought for sure the trip was over for us and we were about to have to leave. Turned out not to be that big a deal, but now I'm paranoid something will happen. I figure it's worth a little extra money to not be stressed the whole time, wondering when I'm going to get "the call". At least with the insurance, if something horrible happened we could get some money back and go again in a few months.

Have you looked at the price of the dining plan and compared it to what you are going to spend on food anyway? Even if you don't add it, you would have to budget quite a bit for OOP meals. It might not cost too much more to add it anyway.

I did this and decided against DDP. I was estimating a budget of $100- $150 per day for two adults which is roughly what the plan was. The money we save on 'cheaper' days will go towards the more expensive TS meals. It also gave us the flexibility of going 'off-site' if we want to.

we made the switch after all day of trying to get someone on the phone! ughh...anyway we switched from AOA LM room to POR standard room (requested bld 17) then we have a 1nt room only which I had to take in a garden view room....so 7nts package/1nt room only. And I still have no idea how much? seriously I was fried and she was not to sure about what I owed?!?! I am waiting for the email now.:rolleyes1

Count us in!! Just booked our sister trip for April 21-27!! :cool1::banana::dance3:

Edit: forgot to add, we're staying at POR :) oopsie!

huh? how could she not be sure what you owed? it would have given her anew total with how much has been paid and how mucj is owed.

emails have been delayed lately. sometimes i dont get them til a day or two later.

it was weird seriously! My package at AOA was 4,088.12...then the package at POR was 4078.04! then I cancelled the room only at aoa and had to book a garden view room at POR cause the standard were sold out. I had a balance on a gift card of 21.76 and wanted to use that first then put the remaining on my Discover. So I gave the gift card number, and then waited for her to ask for my Discover to put the balance for the room only which was 189.85...then minus the 21.76. should have left something right? So I asked what about the balance? She said you are all paid in full! I swear it was the most confusing phone call after trying to get through all day!

wanted to add that my original package for 7 nts, and my 1 nt room only had been paid in FULL already back in Oct.

On hold with reservations for 54 min and counting...... Hope the wait is worth the savings or upgrade !!

Saved $217 on our POP Century reservation. Was hoping to get into a moderate but it would have cost $300 more than we were originally spending ($500 more than new price). Still happy to get a discount!

Now pray for no snow or we will lose the school vacation days in April and the opportunity for the trip!!!

We saved $141 off our 2 night room-only stay at CSR for 4/3-4/5. We are watching airfare now and if the price is better to depart on 4/6 we may add a day. I really want to add a day. We're adding days onto our park tickets that we'll have from the first half of our trip with my family. Can't wait!!

We are officially going in April! :cool1:

This feels so weird. We just got back on Dec. 18th. We discovered that our unused plane tickets from a different trip expired in May, and the only place we felt like traveling to was WDW :)

We booked our flights last week and booked our room/tickets today after the spring discount was posted on the WDW website. We're staying at Pop Century from April 18th to April 23rd. It's our 3rd trip to WDW together, but the 1st trip that will be exclusively Disney (no Universal, no Sea World, etc.). It's also the 1st trip together where we'll be relying completely on Disney transportation, and our 1st visit staying at a value resort.

So excited!

Where were you before? If you don't mind, how much extra or less?
We were in 2 standard rooms ar boardwalk... Moved to 2 1 bedroom villas at beach club (they were out of 2 bedrooms, and for a couple extra bucks the extra 1 bedroom instead of the studio is better for our group), wound up being about $900 less, and we have SO much more room and flexibility with having a kitchen! I should add we have 7 adults and 1 kid, with 5 day hoppers and ddp :)
