OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

Honestly, I think the worst thing I've done is sign up for the TouringPlans crowd tracker. Every time I see an update in my inbox I about have a heart attack, and since I signed up for it back in November or so, the numbers have gone up and then back down again about three sets of times. It's kinda driving me crazy. And we're locked into those dates, so there's really nothing I can do about it anyway.

Agree!!

I am usually a roll with it kind of gal. There is nothing I can do to change it (DVC points rented, airfare purchased) so the constant updates are just making me question things when there's no point to it. Honestly.. no matter what kind of crowds there are, we'll be there and we'll have fun. So I need to stop obsessing about 8's or where to eat on what day over and over. It's pointless. We'll all have fun!!

I like knowing how busy it is just so I can know what to expect and not get blindsided by the lines.

hi everyone! i'd been meaning to look for this thread. we're going down the 7th-14th with all my inlaws. there will be 14 of us in a house! this is the 3rd time we've done a trip like this (took last year off but went 2009 and 2010) and it'll be my dd1's first trip! we're staying at emerald island (after finally outgrowing the house in clermont from the previous trips) and i am so excited to be closer to the parks! and i think when we get down there we're going to upgrade our tix to aps! i haven't read all the pages of this thread yet, but wanted to say hi and hope to see some of you all down there!

oh man, did i really put an exclamation point after every sentence? yikes.

yeah i got really excited when i got a notification that there was a significant drop at the end of our week, moved adrs around, changed up my park days, etc. then a couple days later they shot right back up. i suppose if it sounds too good to be true it probably is

We were there last year during the week leading up to Easter and we did and saw everything we wanted with very little wait! The key was getting to the park at opening, I love the pic I have of my boys walking through Frontierland at 7:09 am! I need to find out how to post pics...It is amazing we were the only ones ;) Don't let those crowd predictors get you worried:thumbsup2

I totally agree with this! We have gone in April quite a few times and it's never that bad. ;)
Somebody here on the Dis told me how to post pics and I have yet to try it.

Thought I'd join in ... we will be in the parks April 10-14. My DH will be home from his 6th deployment to Afghanistan, and that week is our NC school spring break. Not looking forward to the crowds either, but the older the kids get - the harder it is to take them out of school. We will be staying at the Shades of Green (first time), couldn't pass up the good deal they give returning soldiers. It will be our kids first time at the World!

You know you're only 3 months away when you start having dreams about your upcoming Disney trip. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed when I woke up especially since in my dream, Thunder Mountain's refurb was completed a month early and we were able to go on it! Talk about wishful thinking! :rotfl2:

So :sad1: about BTMRR!!! We all  that ride.

Double digits!! WOOHOO!!

I can officially start annoying the :rolleyes1 out of people at work! Yes!!!

We had our first trip this past October, and I annoyed co-workers almost the entire time, and they were ok because it was my first trip. LOL. Well, when I started planning my second trip, they said not until double digits!! hahaha

Anyways, I'm so excited and I cannot wait to go back!!!

Has anybody found a good deal on a rental car?

I've been looking but have not found a good deal yet. Prices seem to be a lot more expensive than what I remember from last year. Hope they start coming down in the next few weeks. I'm sure trying to rent a minivan doesn't hel matters.

Hi - we are going to be in Disney from April 7 - 14 to watch my DD play softball in the wide world of sports.. she is staying at the AS Sports but her stepmom and myself will be at the Best Western LBV in DTD.

I had a SUV with Budget for those dates for $332 with a code I saw on mousesavers.com it was only $10 more then the economy or compact.. we canceled when we got the DTD property

:rotfl: It still makes me laugh - I went online that morning to see if the Space Mountain refurb couple of years ago got completed earlier than planned. No such luck. Soft opening was 1 week before the announced opening date.

On the brighter side of things, it's very likey that the Great Goofini, Dumbo, and FL Trainstation will all be open well before we all get there!

Well, of those 3, we would certainly take the time to try out the Great Goofini!!!! *fingers crossed*

I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that they will continue through April with the new rope "dropless" procedures with park openings 30 minutes earlier than posted times at DHS that they've been using for the past couple of weeks. So much better than the running of the bulls with the past rope drops!
