We just had to change our reservation to the Sheraton Vistana. Has anyone stayed there?

We've stayed there twice. My Mom owns a Sheraton timeshare, so whenever we go with her, that's where we stay. In April, we'll be staying at the new Vistana Villages, though. We enjoyed our stay there. But, we're not big resort people-we are park commandos and really only come back to the resort to sleep and shower! The kids liked the pool, and they have a small store on property for staples if you don't want to go to a large grocery store. They also have a Pizza Hut inside the store. They also have great beds! Probably the only place I know I won't wake up with an aching back. Might not be a big deal to some, but it is for me!

We'll be there from April 25th - May 2nd! It'll be myself, DD (then 3), my mom and aunt.

We're staying off-site for the first time in a long time, at Sheraton Vistana. I'm going to miss my on-site resorts but it just makes monetary sense for us to stay off-site this time. It'll be our 5th trip in a 20-month time span and with mom and auntie tagging along we'll need the extra space.

We will be there April 28-May 5. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside in the new royal rooms. I haven't been to DW in about 16 years and my DH and DD age 5, first time. We are getting so excited.

It did look nice on the website. It is also my parents' timeshare. They own at Orange Lake but we had to switch b/c school vacation didn't fall on the right week this year. Oh well sometimes it's nice to stay somewhere different

There had been rumors and reports that this was in the making and that it would begin in April. I had been hoping that this wouldn't happen for our trip. Wonder if this will lead to longer wait times at Soarin. So now we have BTMRR and TT both out of comission while we're there. Here's to hoping that The Great Goofini is up and running to make up for this.

I am looking forward to entering the double digits.
Touring Plans has the numbers pretty high for the first week of May. Much higher than I was expecting at any rate. Everywhere else is predicting lower. Did anyone here go the first week of May last year? We usually go the last week of August, so we never see anything much higher than a 4 or 5. Just trying to mentally prep myself.

You are going to be there the same time we are. We usually go in Sept when the crowds are low. I was hoping May would not be so bad. What were the numbers?

I haven't been able to see the touring plans crowd calendar yet, b/c I'm not subscribed, but easywdw has my dates at 5s ~ I'll take it!

I'm not allowed to give out the numbers per board rules, but let's say the 8's are pretty bad in my book. We've never seen anything higher than a 5 in the last four trips.

I am expecting them to come down still. There's no free dining during this time, all the other calendars are predicting lower crowds, there's no major holidays. And the same week for the last five years had much lower numbers.

I guess I am expecting moderate rather than heavy crowds.

I hope the numbers go down. Until this upcoming trip, I never looked at numbers. In 2011, we were at MK on January 1, and honestly, I didn't think it was that bad (and I'm used to going during really slow times ~ 3-4th week of January). But then looking back, I read how people thought the crowds were awful. I guess since I went in thinking it would be super crowded, I was pleasantly surprised (and of course, used fastpass and had a decent plan).

So, hopefully it won't be that bad ~ especially since you are in the last wek of April/first of May.

I think last years numbers were in relation to the really late Easter we had. April 25th was Easter Sunday. So my guess is people let their trips start Easter weekend and stretch on into the first week of May. There was some speculation on the Touring Plans blog that this years predictions are coming in high because of last years numbers. I could see that.
They have come down somewhat. Initially it was all 8's and 9's. Now it's down some, but still higher than any other prediction site.
I guess it remains to be seen. There is still quite a bit of time left for adjustments. We'll still have a good time, it just surprised me that TP is so much higher than everywhere else.

We were there last year during the week leading up to Easter and we did and saw everything we wanted with very little wait! The key was getting to the park at opening, I love the pic I have of my boys walking through Frontierland at 7:09 am! I need to find out how to post pics...It is amazing we were the only ones Don't let those crowd predictors get you worried
