OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

DD24 and I are going April 21 for 2 weeks.

I just made the laundry list of our ADR's last night with a wonderful CM on the phone (Erica). She was very helpful.

So, with the ADR's of course we already have our lodging and we already have our flights.

So now is it time to relax? Heck no.....now is time to get back into accumulating all of the tips everyone is sharing in other threads!

Still haven't booked airfare. Farecaster keeps telling me to wait. It's going to be ridiculously expensive either way, but I keep hoping tix will dip down for the times we need. We aren't against flying in late on the 30th and staying at a hotel at the airport until the 31st, but we'll see how it goes.

I also changed around some of our reservations - when hours came out it showed that Magic Kingdom was going to be open until 2am the night before we had 9:40 Akershus breakfast ressies. I moved that to earlier in the week, since the teenagers (and DH42!) were very excited about the idea of staying at MK until 2am.

Mostly I'm just watching the savings account balance rise and rise. I've got to have it paid off by February so I'm nervous!

I made all my ADRs and got the times I wanted- yay!
I got my airfare a while ago and got the best deal I've ever gotten since 2005!! We are flying from a different airport this time it's 2 hrs. away but so worth it. It's saving me hundreds of $$$$.
So what do I do now for the next 5 months?? Funny I say that every year. LOL

Does anybody know why my ticker isn't showing??? I don't know what I did wrong.

Finally have our official dates! We'll be going April 24-30, staying at Vistana Villages, and I can't wait!!

We bought our plane tickets. I'm sure I'll still be making some adjustments to my ADR but I think we're pretty much set. Off-site hotel for the day we arrive in Orlando is reserved. All that's left is to try to make ADR for Wishes Dessert Party, and hopefully (fingers crossed) apply a soon-to-be released free dining offer or room discount

I am considering the first week in April for DS and myself but just am not sure if the crowds are worth the fight vs. the summer crowds. I am trying to work around his school schedule and June is out due to DW 50th b-day so the next best would be mid August but the heat was so much last time we did that. Please tell me the attendance is not that bad, we will have plenty of time and we like to get up early. Not even sure where we would stay on property but that is a must.

Unfortunately, Skysdad, that is not a recommended week to go. TouringPlans.com has that week mostly at attendance levels of 10/10.

Honestly, if you can't do August heat and no other times work for you, I'd either take him out of school for a trip (if he's a good student and can handle the makeup work) or I'd try again next year. Personally, I wouldn't go to the parks on an 8+ day, but crowds just really bother me. A 10/10 makes me want to hide.

He doesn't have any kind of fall break?

I believe that's Easter week this year. Yes it will be crowded but I would NEVER cancel a trip b/c of that. It's manageable if you have a good touring plan. And you can't beat the weather. I love April.
So if it's the only time you can go then do it. If you can do a different week even 2 weeks later it makes a huge difference. That's when we're going this year.
