OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

Some of you may remember my fiasco with Spirit Airlines - (they were trying to say our flight was "cancelled" and after my persistence, they said we were guaranteed seats on the flight - knowing they overbooked it).

Anyway - I was successful in printing out our boarding passes this morning!!!

So, it appears it's all systems go for the flight tomorrow morning. All we have to do is drop off our bags at the Fast drop and report to the gate!

Now - if I can just get through the next 4.5 hours of work! :wizard:

Yay! That is so exciting! Drive safely! :goodvibes

I have to. Took the car to get the oil changed and tires rotated this morning. They found a nail in one tire that's been there for who knows how long, said it's in a place they can't repair, so the car is at the tire place across the street getting 2 new tires on it now.

Every time I get the oil changed, they always find something they need to drag me out into the bay for to take a look at, and I know right then that it's going to cost more money.

Ugh, that stinks! We have to have our cars inspected yearly up here in VT and invariably there's always SOMETHING that needs to be fixed before they'll pass mine for inspection. Of course, it's a Jeep, so there's always some little thing - LOL - but I still love it and won't drive anything else as long as I live up in snow country with these blasted mountains everywhere! Have a wonderful time!!!

I feel your pain. I had a nail in one of my tires back in January in a place that couldn't be repaired. And my van was only 8 months old at the time, as were the tires. :sad2: The only upside is that my husband runs a Firestone so I got a pretty sweet deal :thumbsup2

Hope your tires are setting you back too much!

Yes ddluvsdisney she will be turning 8 on our first full day so it is a birthday celebration :) She elected to go to Animal Kingdom and I booked her a birthday lunch at Rainforest Cafe. Excitement!

I think you're right that most people at rope drop who will be sprinting towards Rapunzel will head to Fairytale gardens the first couple of days because they were not updated.

It is true that for Rapunzel, that the CMs encouraged/allowed one person to hold the line, but I'm not so sure if that'll still be the case. If I'm not mistaken, the Veranda meet and greet for Ariel had roped off queues weaving back and forth just like many of the rides and I'm wondering if this configuration will make it difficult to have people holding spots. We'll have to see how this works out. We're still heading towards Rapunzel at rope drop and with many people heading the wrong direction, I'm pretty sure that we can manage to be one of the first five people in line.

Goodness, now after reading your post DAve, I am torn on what to do. Maybe we should head straight over to the meet and greet. I just imagined our first day going straight to fantasyland, but i'm sure if I prep the girls first, they will be more than thrilled to see Rapunzel and Flynn. They'll have their Rapunzel shirts on, after all!! I could wait with them and my DH (and baby if necessary) could go get a FP for something. Is there any way for me to know for sure if she has moved to the new meet and greet location before we actually get to MK on Sunday? I know there are papers/park hours/time guides at every hotel, but will they have this info? I just know I'll be super bummed if we do head to Adventureland first for this and she's in the old spot.

Ran all my pre-trip errands today. Just have to pick up DD's sunglasses this afternoon (we got them at a "glasses in about an hour" place yesterday, but they were waiting on a part for their machine, so they should be done by this afternoon), and I saw some shorts I thought she might like this morning but I know better than to buy clothes for a 17 year old without her seeing them first, so we'll duck back over there after school.

Need to clean the house, finish laundry and packing (I think I've over packed on clothes, so I need to go back through my suitcase) and I think that's it for today. Tomorrow morning we're going for haircuts and pedicures so we're all sandals-ready and then at 2pm DFriend is coming over and at 4:30 we leave for the airport!

Taking my kindle fire so I will definitely report in while we're gone and let people know how it's going!

YAY for you. Have a great trip and keep up updated (if you can)

Have a wonderful time! Maybe we'll run into each other! Most importantly thank you so much for starting and maintaining this thread! I'm sur it had to be a ton of work for you!

Enjoy!

15 days!!! :cool1:

Question ~ who is planning to do online check-in? We always have in the past, but I am debating whether or not to do it this time. This is the only trip that I actually am requesting a certain building, and there are 2-3 back-ups...so I'm just wondering if it is best for us to wait and do check in when we get there. We will get there early, have a car, should be well rested, and won't mind if our room isn't ready (especially if we are waiting for our request); no major park plans ~ we'll either hang out at the pool or maybe go to BB or TL.

So since we are in our low 20s countdown, DBF is now beginning to get excited. So he ACTUALLY started asking me questions. So today he starts asking me about the "expensive safari you were talking about" at AK. I had asked him (much earlier in the planning, of course), if he wanted to spend the money for the Wanyama Safari since we are staying at AKL. *sigh* he is not the planner.

So I sent him the link from the DIS regarding all of the different tours and then took a nap. I wake up to him on the phone trying to book the Backstage Magic tour. I guess it's the 4 park one? Has anyone here done it? The only day they had available is Monday, so he booked it anyway (just in case). I will have to rearrange some things; possibly cancel the Dessert Party...

Anyone have any thoughts on the expensive tours??

I would LOVE to take some of the tours! are the days now dragging or is it me? I just want to be there and then have time stand still :goodvibes My DH was asking questions today too:scared: like where we are eating?!?! I swear I have been talking to myself at the computer!

The tours are fun! When me and my sisters were younger we did the Family Magic one (but I think we somehow got it for free with some vacation package) and then a couple years ago my dad and I did the Backstage Safari at the Animal Kingdom which we loved. This trip we are going to do the Keys to the Kingdom!

DBF is now looking at reviews of Keys to the Kingdom!! I think we're going to switch to that one tomorrow. Let me know how it is for you! Judging from your ticker, you'll probably be back before we even leave!

Been on the road for an hour. Just passed through Mobile.

CONGRATS!! WOOOO Disney! (lol. just trying to keep your spirits up on the road! :thumbsup2)

I'll definitely keep you in the loop by posting on the April thread what I find out about schedule, lines, and waittimes since our MK day is the 17th only two days after they move the meet and greet.

That would be awesome! Thank you so much and have a magical trip!pixiedust:

I will be doing online check-in as usual. I have never once gotten a room request fulfilled, so I guess it doesn't matter which way I do it. I've read on the dis that even if you do online check-in, you can still change the room they give you if they have your request available. Just don't go by my experience!:rotfl:

DH and I loved the Keys to the Kingdom tour. It was about 5 hours and our guide was a hoot! We ate at Columbia Harbour House and the food was great! We rode Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion. Sometimes they go on Pirates of the Caribbean as well. It is very informative and if you schedule for the 8:30AM one, you can take some awesome pictures of the castle with hardly anyone in them! Good luck!

Been on the road for an hour. Just passed through Mobile.

You'll be there before you know it! Be safe!:goodvibes

17 more days for me! As terrible as it sounds, I cannot even express how much I'm looking forward to being there without YDD. She is just so high maintenance right now (I have to throw the 'right now' in there because I pray to God it's just a phase ), it's more work than fun bringing her any place. Taking her someplace for the day is just exhausting, mentally and physically, never mind a trip to WDW. I can't believe I get to walk around the parks at my own pace, and not have to be taking care of/dealing with someone every 2 minutes. It's going to be soooo relaxing. :hippie:

It doesn't sound terrible! Nothing wrong with having some "down" time! :goodvibes

We leave 5am Wed morning. Can't wait. I still have a ton of stuff to do like clothes shopping and 2 more days at work which I know will be hectic. Monday, my DS has Boy Scouts till 9pm, he's actually on a camping trip this weekend and then Tues he has Lacrosse practice till 7pm. I'm sure the shorts he wears to practice he'll want to bring so I'll be up doing wash. I was hoping to get to bed early but :confused3 what can I do. Luckily my DD doesn't have any activities.

I was debating about doing online check in, but it just seems so restrictive. Since we'll be checking into POR @9am, I don't think the lines will be too long.
