Official APH Rate Info for Universal Loews Hotel Properties

Thanks. Yeah that was the $3 price difference I mentioned earlier.

I definitely got a good deal with Helios.
Yep. My 3 nights (Mon-Wed) at Helios in Dec are 314.10/nt; $1060 total with SMSM.

Just booked 1 nt AP rate at RPR on the following Thursday for $366 total, still deciding if I will stay there for the EP and get a new AP or do the OI meetup which should happen that weekend and stay with their discount. Plenty of time to decide!

Hope to spend some time today tentatively planning possible stays. I would love to get in a late June trip, when the kids' seasonal APs are not blocked out, but also would want to add in at least one day at Epic....Also might start looking at HHN plans, we usually have to travel during kids' fall breaks/Columbus day, but not sure this year.
More imperative is to decide if I'm going to go with DH when he goes on his solo Disney trip in Feb, in just a few weeks. If I do, we'd either tack on 2 days at the beginning or end, for Universal....but AP rates are not that great. Even Endless summer and CB are over $200/night....Stella Nova has the cheapest rates, but since DH is not going to the parks, easy access to City walk might be best, and nobody knows how the transportation will be yet.....but might be fun to try the new hotel.

ugh, why are my dates so high. I just don't get it. I really thought being pre Epic opening I'd see some great pricing, but they're so high for AP rates and you don't even want to look at "rack rates" they're over $800 a night.
I guess people are going BEFORE Epic opens??

PBH is showing $419 now (if a king room will work).
You could also try breaking it into smaller chunks (5/3-5/5 had a decent RP rate).

Hi, King won't work, we have two adults and two kids, so we are looking at 2 queens.
I looked into breaking it up but still more expensive than my SMSM rate I got already. I'll just keep looking and checking.

Seems like the first part few day of my trip has fairly low rates but after the 5th the pricing jumps up.
May is still some time away so fingers crossed it lowers a bit and if not, I just need to deal with what I have now

Edit: I just noticed that on May 5th Universal is celebrating Cinco de Mayo !! Rates at RPR go from $380 a night on the 4th to over $1K on the 5th and this is what is impacting my overall pricing. I had no idea that this celebration in the parks would draw such a huge price difference.
:)

Hi-the link on the first page for the AP rates, I know the link was posted a few years ago, but is this what I should be using to look for summer rates?
Thanks

I find when I do try to use the link, it doesn't go too smoothly-won't respond etc, just wondering if I should be looking a different way?

Yeah, that's still the same link. Often the page is slow, especially when it first opens. Might be 30-60sec before it'll let you change the dates. Just let it do its thing & try not to click around on the calendar until it is responding (ie if you click and it does nothing, just sit there & wait for it to catch up).

ok thanks will do! As long as I know I'm on the right spot, I'll take my patience pill, lol!

I just checked my dates for Nov 25 and PBH AP rates went down a bit for two of my days. Just rebooked for I think the fourth time and saved another $27.

I wish their website had a way to Modify the current reservation for the price only. I see the new price but if I don't Edit the dates or number of guests in the room it won't allow me to revise it for the current lower rate. I see the lower rate there in my total but it won't allow me to proceed any further to revise it. I always have to book a new booking and then cancel the current one. Or am I doing something wrong?

you're not doing it wrong. You can't modify it. It is a silly system. It's also annoying for me because I'm not from the USA, so each time I cancel and re-book I get charged fees from my bank for foreign transactions and the exchange rates are always changing. Sometimes I gain a bit but most of the time I loose, so It has to be a good amount of difference for me to bother doing a re-book.

You can't modify to the same exact reservation, you have to change something. That could be dates, room type, or # of people in the room. If you want to reprice the exact same thing, add a child to the reservation (up to the room capacity). Next time, drop the phantom child.

I imagine you could also switch dates then switch back, but that may be riskier because you're effectively giving up your actual reservation during the switchover.

interesting, how do you do this online? I do need change dates slightly but can't see an option to modify at all.

On the webpage where you check rates, there's a "My Reservations" button way at the top. Or, at the very bottom your email confirmation, there's a link that says "Click here to retrieve your reservation." Actually, what I just copied is a link to it too, how convenient. They all take you to the same page, where you enter your confirmation number and can then modify or cancel.

excellent info, thank you! Very handy.

I've changed my dates around a bit, decided for now to keep my SMSM rate at RPR because it is so much cheaper than current AP rates. But for May 7-9 I'm looking at a value resort.
Which would you choose and why??

Cabana Bay Family Exterior Suite $352
Surfside 2 Bedroom Suite $322
Dockside 2 Bedroom Suite $317

I've stayed at Cabana Bay before, Loved the food and the pools/lazy river but wasn't a fan of 2 beds in the main room, kids would share the pull out here and Hubby and I would take a queen - leaving 1 queen empty.

Surfside I'm leaning towards - it is smaller and has the kids beds in one room and a solo bed in a separate room for us, but the pool looks lackluster.

Dockside - seems just like Surfside only a lot busier / bigger so would be last on my list.

The pool is lackluster, is that a dealbreaker? You also can't pool hop from Surfside. If you weren't going to swim much these days, that won't matter. But it's still fine for a swim, maybe not as much if you were trying to kill a whole afternoon. Checking out on May 7, you can also pool hop to CB pool that day/night with your RP room key.

If this is going to coincide with your Volcano Bay day, Cabana Bay lets you just walk to the dedicated VB entrance. That's super nice.

The bus rides are similar between the two. Likely a shorter walk to your room at Surfside.

I haven't tried the food court at Surfside, however there is a Waffle House and some other off-site restaurants right nearby. In fact the Waffle House was closer to our room than the food court was, granted we were in the far corner of the hotel.

Normally for $30 difference I'd opt for CB, but with how you'll use the room... I think unless you will really use the CB pools or the VB path, Surfside wins out. Why pay more for a bed configuration that doesn't work as well for you?
