Official APH Rate Info for Universal Loews Hotel Properties

hmmm, all of these really good rates. So sad my pre Epic opening dates in May have quite terrible AP rates. My SMSM rates are better, which I find odd.
I've got two sets of dates May 3-7 at a Premier Resort (currently RPR) and 7-16 at Surfside (2BR)
I can't understand why AP rates would be more than a SMSM rate.
Insanely odd. I just did a check for both. SMSM May 7-16 is 117 per night, AP rate 125. Crazy! Also noticed Terra Luna is only very minimally more, and dockside quite a bit less (90ish per night) if you aren’t locked in to surfside specifically. I didn’t check your earlier dates, or double check room type was same or not.

4 night SMSM rates are similar to AP rates. Make sure you're comparing the exact same room types
I am comparing the exact same room type for both hotels. I booked my SMSM rate a few months ago and it's several hundred dollars cheaper than the AP rate for the same dates.

My weekend in late Jan had a $251 rate for RP for Sat night... The Sun was $253 until earlier this week when it dropped to $231, but the Sat had been up over $400 previously. Very odd.

You're comparing an old SMSM rate with a current AP rate. What is the current SMSM rate?

I'm aware it's an older SMSM rate, but I've always for years had WAY better AP rates than any SMSM rate I've had, no matter how far in advance I booked. I just find it strange that even now current AP rates are MORE than the SMSM right now (as stated by someone else in a previous post for my dates who looked)

The lower priced AP booking I posted I got earlier was cheaper overall but I did notice the Saturday night AP rate was higher than the SMSM Saturday night rate. Only the other nights were a lot cheaper.

I'm looking at a 2BR at Surfside, I'm pretty sure when I checked the 2BR was the same price at Dockside and I'd rather the smaller resort.
I'll just keep checking and hope that the AP rates may drop in price as the dates get closer.

I really am not familiar with the SMSM rate discussed here. What does it stand for?
Thaks so much.

Oddly, the SMSM rate seems to have disappeared. I have one booked for next Dec at Helios, but when I look now it is not available? And the AP rate is a bit higher than my current SMSM rate.
I have Helios booked for mid November for two rooms, 4 adults for 4 nights and now it’s $1243 more than I booked.

I had rebooked my 5 night Portofino and got it $425 cheaper when the AP rate came out and I just rebooked it and saved another $117.

Looking at dates in August 2025 - I see there are AP rates now for the premier hotels but is it always the case that Portofino comes in significantly less than Hard Rock or RP?

No, definitely not always the case. That is an interesting anomaly. In Dec 2025 when I looked RPR is lower. Good rate for PBR.

Also weird that the Dec AP rate I booked yesterday at RPR is $1/night less today?

Same here... My 5-night PFB AP rate booking went down $3 total each room (I have two). It's annoying because I don't want to rebook AGAIN just to save another $6 but why are they lowering some of the nights by just $1?

out of curiosity what kind of rates are you guys getting?
I'm just still so shocked at how expensive my early May dates are, I really thought there would be some good deals for before Epic opens, but nope :(
I'm still coming it over $300 cheaper overall for both my date ranges at both hotels with the SMSM rate I got a few months ago over the current AP rates.

Not always, but it does occurs frequently as I’ve seen it regularly when checking over the years.

I think the reason for it is because RP might have fewer initial AP rate rooms available, leading to it selling out quicker than PB. Other factors leading to more availability at PB is that it is the furthest away from the parks and Citywalk, out of the 3 premier hotels, and it hasn’t finished the construction that started last year.
