So this morning as I was getting ready I flipped through the stations on my radio and came to a song that sounded really familiar... "Tell me what we got, tell me it's a lot, tell me it's the real thing." I thought to myself, this song sounds sooooo familiar! I couldn't think of who it was but then it finally came to me... the Backstreet Boys! This has got to be one of the newer Backstreet Boys songs. Wow, I haven't heard the Backstreet Boys on the radio in a long time but this song isn't too bad. I can't believe I still like the Backstreet Boys even though I normally listen to indie rock. Well, they're a guilty pleasure of mine, some fun and cheesy pop.

And then I realized that it was Bo Bice

And that, my friends, is exactly why I don't want David Cook or Michael Johns to come anywhere close to winning this show

Bo was my FAVORITE person on season 4 and I loved how genuine he was. That was some good ol' southern rock! And then his album came out and... oy. And that's my completely random story of the day!

Didn't they say something on AI that the AI singles were not allowed to chart? I wish we could see where their downloads rank among the rest of the music on there.

You can see them on rickey.org. Where he gets his scoop, I don't know since they can't be viewed that way on i-tunes.

Actually, IMO *nobody* can do a Dolly Parton song like Dolly herself, including the AI-revered Whitney Houston *gag*. (DONTDOWHITENYHOUSTONYOURENOTWHITNEY, isn't that the AI party line that the Three Stooges always parrot?) THAT'S why I feel sorry for all the AIs next week - Dolly's stuff might seem simple or easy, but it's not.

I think Whitney Houston is no Dolly Parton.

Then those that want to stay here and chit-chat between shows can do so without being told they are annoying and writing drivel (so sad that some people think talking about parents dying is "drivel", by the way.) I'm actually surprised no one started a new thread already rather than complain repeatedly about this one.

Inside jokes? I must've missed those. I'm pretty new around here and I've been able to jump right in with all the conversations.

I find it interesting just how many people were not familiar with "Fragile" and "The Voice" -- I admit I had COMPLETELY forgotten about the latter until I heard it on AI. But I had heard it. Chikezie's song was the one that I barely remember.

About next week. Kenny Rogers did a Bob Seger cover in 1983. I that song. And to hear DC sing that? Wonder if DC could get away with that or if it must be something Kenny actually WROTE. I'm glad at least they aren't making everyone sing Dolly songs because that would not exactly be easy for the guys to pull off! I need to look up more of Dolly's stuff. I remember "Islands in the Stream", "I will always love you", "He'll come again", "Potential New Boyfriend", and "9 to 5" off the top of my head and that is IT.

We have to wait 5 more days!


Anyone else get a hold of the full "Billie Jean" yet? Just how GREAT is that??? I listened to the CC version too and DC has it ALL over him. I always thought CC had one of the better voices out there -- so that is saying a LOT.

I even had to check to see who did the song first.... since both were done in such a short span of time.

Haven't yet on the 'full "Billie Jean"'.

The contestants draw numbers to choose their song - if their song is chosen before they get to choose it then it's gone and they have to pick another song.
