That would be interesting but I think Brooke should do Jolene. I think he should put his spin on the Dolly/Brad Paisley song "When I Get Where I'm Going".

I've been looking for rock bands that have covered a Dolly Parton song since DC has done several already I figured that's his MO..........only found the one I mentioned so far.

I am ashamed to admit it, but during the audition round.... DH and I liked Kristy Lee
That didn't last even through Hollywood though :confused3

DC we thought was decent in hollywood, but thought he looked way to creepy to make it very far on the show.... TOTALLY over that now!

We have liked Carly and Brooke from the beginning and still do.

Syesha was good for a while but after the first week of competition, she has just been so boring, that we don't care if she sounds good or not.

Ramielle was cute in the auditions, now she is just annoying.

We really like David H all through the auditions and hollywood (hated his first week during the competition) but otherwise really liked him (despite his "other" profession :scared1: ) and were sad to see him go.

I agree that's his MO but I think others may take that song before he gets a chance.

DC caught my attention from his audition b/c he sang Livin on a Prayer and Bon Jovi is my favorite band. As soon as he said that was what he was signing, I was prepared to totally dislike him (not a fan of people who do BJ), but he did a good job. I liked him through Hollywood week and the first couple of weeks (I love Happy Together and I thought it was cute that he sang that), but like everyone else, Hello just blew me away, plus he is a word nerd. I love crosswords and wordfinds, and esp. cryptoquotes so that was just a bonus.

I also like Brooke from the beginning. I also really liked Asia'h. I don't think she should have gone home ahead of KLC, who I haven't liked from the beginning. I loved Michael Johns b/c he was so hot and I loved the whole Jim Morrison thing (I'm a big Doors fan), but as hot as he is, he is not doing much for me anymore. He did have a good week this past week and I hope he gets better. I liked Ramiele from her auditions, but she has gone way down for me. Everyone else, I didn't like or dislike, they were just there, ya know? Oh, except for Danny. I could never stand his over the top divaness (is that a word?).

What's funny in all this talk about who have you liked from the beginning is that Jason is the only one left that didn't have his audition shown on TV.

I was pulling for Robbie Carrico at the beginning of the season.

LOL...do we have the same husband? Mine loved Shirley when she was readhead. Were in Best Buy last week and passed by the Garbage cd's. He commented that she wasn't attractive as a blonde :rotfl:

Thank goodness I went from brunette to redhead instead of blonde :)

I'm a natural redhead. But if I ever dyed my hair blonde, I don't think the hubby would be happy about it. Brunette he could probably handle. However, I would look ridiculous with any hair color other than red.

I liked Kyle -- remember him? The one that wanted to be governor for DC's now home state? He was the one from the auditions I was pulling for. I wanted to see him sans glasses and a tie.

At some point during the top 24 I noticed Luke. He had stubble or something. :rotfl: And then I read he liked KEANE and BOOM -- he was my favorite. He could carry a tune but his voice just wasn't that impressive overall. I'm not sorry he got voted off.

Liked Brooke from the beginning and still do.

Didn't like Carly, DA, or Kristy from the beginning and hearing about their borderline record deals, etc has turned me off of all of them.

MJ -- thought he was nice to look at, but he bothered me. He just struck me as someone trying REALLY hard to be the next Jim Morrison/Michael Hutchence. Then I heard a song from his old band and thought...OK -- he has some talent. But I have seen nothing approaching that on the show. And he also, like the group above, has nearly 'made it' before and feel like he takes up a spot of someone more deserving on the show.

DC. I do remember his audition. Thought he was OK and noticed that he kept advancing. Things that left an impression were reading his bio and seeing he liked Our Lady Peace -- major brownie points there. I don't remember much about his first two performances in the pre top 12 weeks but I DO remember Simon coming down on him pretty hard because of something DC said. I felt badly for DC because it was not taken the right way. I thought he was in trouble that week. And then there was the hair. I could not get passed the hair. I told my sister it sticks to his head like he just has the worst case of static cling ever. But then he sang "Hello" and that was it. :faint:    His hair became a non issue. That VOICE...those eyes. :lovestruc

That was way more than an answer to your question -- but I like to talk about DC! :rotfl:

What did he say that Simon gave him a hard time about? i don't remember that.

I know I could just look it up. But I'm lazy. Does anyone have a list of all the songs DC has done on the show? I can't remember what he did for 70's week.

You know...I was just wondering about that. I couldn't remember who was and wasn't shown during the original auditions. In the beginning it's quite an advantage to be seen on t.v. for the first round. I suppose now it doesn't matter as much though. I honestly don't remember most people's original auditions.

I don't think Jason was shown during Hollywood week either because I don't remember him at all but I knew he was around because he was featured on our local news.

I do remember reading an interview with Nigel and he said that they wanted to show Jason' audition because it was one of the best ever but they couldn't get clearance from whomever wrote CRAZY by Gnarls Barkley.

The very first thing I saw him sing on TV was DAYDREAM and that was 70's week.

Cook sang "Happy Together" during 70's week.

Whew just got home and my fellow Idol lovers, if your on Cingular you can get ringtones from the show. I think I may be getting me a MJ one.

Since everyone loves DC right now let's all take a guess at what Dolly Parton song he will sing next week.

I choose the White Stripes version of Jolene. ;)

OOOOH! Good call, I can totally see that. And I would totally listen to that, because I love the White Stripes. :lovestruc

Instead of explaining, you can just watch. Start around 3:45 in. I just wanted to give DC a hug after this!

watch this asap. Mandy is right, freemantle is pulling these videos. Off to copy these to my computer so they are not lost forever!

Why are they pulling them? It was on network TV, free for anyone and everyone to watch. I can see them pulling the studio performances, but not the ones on tv. :confused3

whoops...i thought happy together was 60's...haha. So what did he sing 60's week?

edit - never mind. just saw the answer a few posts up.

Because they are available on Itunes this season.

But what is nuts is that the VIDEOS of the early performances are not. I can see them pulling the latter ones -- but not the three weeks prior to the top 12 where only the audio is available on iTunes.

I got the first three weeks converted and they are on my computer. :cloud9: But it was a PITA! :headache: Still trying to get the recent ones so they are all in one place but I am having trouble getting any to convert. Oh well. I DO have all those from iTunes and the judges comments on tape. So I can live with it if this doesn't ever work.

Okay....so they are saying he's the "real deal" and I vaguely remember some guy before him was more fakey rockstar. Who was he? I can't recall.

Ah...I remember this conversation with Simon. I think Simon was PMSing that night...haha.

Looking around a bit I see that Robbie attemped "Hot Blooded" 2 people before DC. Maybe him? I don't know.
