Did Simon live in the U.S. during desert storm? Because if so...he should be as annoyed with that song as most people are. SO overplayed. UGH.

That's exactly why Simon didn't diss the song. If he did, the sympathy votes would come rolling in. The fact that he called it such a "clever" song choice was because he knows she's just playing the patriotism card to stay on the show.
