I dug Constantine's version of "I Think I Love You". I think it's pretty cool that this young guy can, without embarrassment, sing the Partridge Family. Very noble. ;)

I am in TOTAL agreement with you here!!!! ::yes::

what time is AI on tonight?
i just checked the paper listing for the tv programs and it is not listed.

9 pm EST.

All I know is I'm ready to see Mikaylah go as well. I felt kinda bad cause her mom was the only one really supporting her last night. I liked her at first, but MAN every time she opens her mouth to talk ::shudder:: I can't wait for the tour this year!!! After the disappointment that was Season 3, Idol fans were due for an awesome year and it's being delivered! :)

Correct me if im wrong, but is it the final 10 that go on the tour?
If so Mikayla has to go tonight in order to not have to hear her on the tour!

I know there are a lot of Nadia fans out there but I don't like her. I think she tries to be just like Tina Turner and there's only one Tina Turner

I'm such a doofus, I tried to vote for Bo, but ended up voting for Anthony.

Oh well....I like Anthony, just not the most. At least I didn't accidentally vote for Mikayla. :rotfl:

I keep voting for Bo! :cool1: I don't want him to get booted off! :goodvibes

I bet Mikahala will be the next to go, and maybe Niko. :)

I was really surprised by 3 performances that weren't nearly as good as I thought they would be.

Anwar: Started off really shakey. He finished very well, but I was kind of afraid for him when he started.

Carrie: I've said it before, I don't like Carrie. I don't like country music and I haven't liked a single thing she'd sung to this point. Not that I don't agree that she has talent, or that she sings country music very well. I just don't like what she's been singing. So I was fully expecting to her sing something I didn't like very well. Instead frankly the start of her song was very rocky. She can really belt it out, but until she got to that point there were parts where I could barely hear/understand a word that she was singing.

Nadia: I like Nadia. She's got a lot of strength to her voice, and in general she knows how to use it. What on earth was she thinking to do a Cyndi Lauper song? It did not match her voice or style at all.

Now Mikalah, she should have been doing Cyndi Lauper songs, at least then her nasal-y voice wouldn't have been quite so distracting.

I thought Scott was great - I didn't notice last night if there was anyone in the audience tagged as being "Scott's family and friends" - was there?

Anthony was "ok". Didn't quite seem comfortable with the song, but was okay.

Well, it WAS the final 10, since before there were 10 finalists, but this year there are 12 finalists, so I bet all 12 go ( or maybe 11 since Mario dropped out ).

Anyone else think it was a little unfair to hear the judges reiterate? I didn't expect them to change their opinions, but it was as if after watching the performances for a second time, they felt even stronger about their praises or criticisms....I'm a new fan of the show, so maybe their comments don't have as much influence over the votes as I think????

I thought it was classy how Bo acknowledged the guitarist by kneeling next to him for a moment while singing.

I was impressed with Jessica. I don't like Total Eclipse of the Heart, but I liked her version. I hope she makes it through this week.

I found this online from June 2004:

'Idol' finalist campaigns for tour spot
Monday, June 7 2004, 22:28 BST -- by Neil Wilkes

American Idol finalist Matt Rogers is back campaigning for votes again.

The former football player was voted off the show on March 24, landing him eleventh place amongst the top twelve.

Only the top ten are guaranteed spots on the 48-city nationwide tour - planned for late summer - but producers may opt to add the eleventh or twelth placed finalists if they wish.

"John Stevens had whole states and whole schools voting for him numerous times," Rogers told the New York Post. "Jasmine [Trias] had a whole island voting for her, if you know what I mean. It's just whoever pulls the most votes in."

The 25-year-old is asking fans to petition for his inclusion on the American Idol website.

It's always the top 10 that go on tour. In season 2, Corey Clark, the guy who came in 9th had to be kicked off the show, and Josh Gracin, the guy who came in 4th couldn't make it because he was in the Marines. That left it to only 8 people, so they added Charles Grigsby, the guy who came in 11th. Other than that season, Season 1 and Season 3 only had the top 10, so the people that came in 11th and 12th in Season 3 didn't go on tour.

So this year, Lindsey and whoever gets voted off today won't be on tour, unless someone drops out and they have to replace them.

I realized the other night who Constantine reminds me of a bit. He reminds me of Gary Sinise with an overbite. I thought he was only ai-ight the other night. I just don't think his voice is that good.

Bo still has my vote. I would be happy with Carrie too. I also like Scott, if he won that would be cool.

I looked at Nadia the other night and thought of Wendy O. Williams. She was alright.

Mikalah though was the worst. I was at a meeting at someone's house and I knew that they were watching American Idol but wasn't paying too much attention. At one point though I heard this horrible noise coming from the room and said it has to be Mikalah. I checked and sure enough......

She has an alright voice, she just needs singing lessons. She sounds bad because she only wants to sing in one key and it can't be done, at least not by her.

I didn't watch last night. Did they have to repeat their performances? Now really fair, if the performance varies from the first night. My god, what would have happened had Mikalah actually recovered from Tuesday night and sounded good (not that that was likely to happen). I thought they were going to show the performances replayed and then fill in somehow.

They showed the taped parts of everyone singing and then talked to each "idol" about their performance

That is exactly what they did. The votes had to be based on the original performances. The only difference was the Mikalah tried to defend herself this time where on Tuesday she only smiled and nodded.

Thanks. The way the threads were sounding, I thought they had to perform all over again. Glad I didn't waste the hour. No way I was missing Survivor and Alias.
