Official American Idol Season 4 Thread

The community board on American Idol always posts wrong numbers. The people on the boards (people like you and me) always post incorrect numbers in order to get others to vote for their favorites. The boards are not run by Fox in any way.

I don't think that the numbers are listed at all on the official "idolonfox" website.

No need to worry, though. Mikaleh will be gone and deservedly so.

Although my faves Nadia and Bo were a little lackluster tonight, I appreciated that they tried something different.

As for Jessica, I really don't think she's all that good. She's not bad by any means, but as far as power vocals go, Carrie is whole lot better. I, for one, don't really think that the public is behind Jessica (as evidenced by her bottom three placement last week), and I don't really think she'll be able to go far.

It's very simple to vote all you have to do is know the order they performed in and use that number. Usually someone on here posts the singers in the order they were on stage. There were alot of those tonight.

I enjoyed everyone tonight except Mikalah & Nadia. Anwar wasn't as good as he normally is but I still think he has incredible talent.

I wish Simon would quit saying Carrie is going to win. I like her too but that's just going to make the other contestants hate her!

Sometimes I wonder if Simon is purposly saying stuff to sway the voters? Like some of the stuff he says is so hurtful that he has to know he'll trigger sympathy votes or something.

Just wanted to add that CARRIE ROCKED THIS WEEK.

She was not my fav til now but I loved her this week. I also usually like Anwar but this week his performance was weak.

Anthony should be the poster child for Nutrasweet...Supposed to taste :teeth: like sugar but is ARTIFICIAL.

I couldn't even keep a straight face when watching Mikayla. Was she awful or what? I have only seen her perform two times and both were bad. I am guessing she used to be good since she made it this far. What the heck happened to her!

My fav is still Constantine. Let's get rid of Mikayla.[/QUOTE

I liked Constatine's version of I Think I Love You, but Simon didn't :confused3

My favorites....Bo, Carrie and Jessica. I am true to the three of them ;)
My DH loves Nadia. She's just ok to me. I don't get the Anwar attraction, I don't think he is good at all. :confused3 Vonzell was really good tonight (and she is so pretty!) - she and Scott earned a few of my votes :flower: I grew up with The Partridge Family and "I Think I Love You" was a favorite of mine as a young girl, sorry but Constantine did not do it any justice.

Mikayla is soooooo gone. No one even came close to her travesty of a performance tonight, eh gads it was god awful.

Hey, PhotobearSam :wave2:!! Great seeing you here on the CB. I think I was supposed to e-mail you some pictures from December  . One from the day at the Tangierine Cafe, and I also have one of you and KathyTX at the Pecos Bill's meet. I'm going to e-mail them right now to the e-mail address on the business card you gave me.

(Sorry everyone - thanks for letting me interrupt the AI talk. I haven't seen this week's show yet because I messed up with the VCR, so I have no comments to add at this point. Sounds like I'll get a second chance to see it, though :hyper: )

Spoiler Alert!!!
Here are the rumoured songs for tonight. Remember they are just RUMOURED!!! (highlight to see)

Carrie Underwood: "Alone" by Heart (1987)
(Note: Simon said she is gonna win and sell more records than all the other idols combined.)

Anwar Robinson - "I Feel For You" by Chaka Khan (1984) tentative
(Note: All three judges thought Anwar was ok; Randy complemented him for him ambition in doing Chaka; he was pitchy but saved it at the end with that "one note" as Paula and Randy would say)

Constantine Maroulis - "I Think I Love You" by the Partridge Family (1970)
(note: Surprisingly good; Simon thought it was like watching a poodle with a leather jacket)

Nadia Turner - "Time after Time" by Cyndi Lauper (1984)
(Note: Judges thought this was Nadia's weakest performance yet)

Mikalah Gordon - "Love Will Lead You Back" by Taylor Dayne (1990)
(Note: Judges and audience didn't like this performance)

Jessica Sierra - "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler (1983)
(Note: Judges like Jessica and said she could give Carrie a run for her money)

Nikko Smith - "Incomplete" by Sisqo (2000)
(Note: Judges and crowd loved him)

Anthony Federov - "I Knew You Were Waiting For Me" by George Michael/Aretha Franklin (1987)
(Note: Simon said that Anthony was trying for sexy and it just didn't wok)

Bo Bice - "Time In a Bottle" by Jiim Croce (1973)
(Note: Hair back to normal. All three were kind; Simon said he's the only one who doesn't feel like a contestant)

Vonzell Solomon - "Best of My Love" by The Emotions (1977)
(Note: Simon said that Vonzell will finally be remembered)

Scott Savol - "Against All Odds" by Phil Collins (1984)

Hey, if you're going to be a spoiler, make sure you do it correctly and post all the warnings of the content you are about to post. I am a Safari user and didn't have to hilight anything to read this. I was interested in hearing what the song list was, but reading the judges comments ahead of time totally ruined the show for me. There was no spoiler warning about the judges. Give me a break!
Carrie can sing whatever she wants, but she's still a stiff up there. Her lack of showmanship/personality leaves me cold!!!!

ANWAR RULES

I loved Bo tonight as always. I'm glad that he showed a sensitive side. Constantine sure picked an odd song but did as well as could be expected with it. Nikko did a good job and unfortunately, I missed Carrie's performance.

By the way, what was up with Paula tonight? She seemed odd to me with all of the kissing on Simon and her wild ranting and dancing. Or am I offbase?

No, you are not offbase. I told Dh that Paula just seemed like she was high on something tonight. She was acting too happy and very strange.

Anyway, I thought most everyone did a good job tonight. I actually liked Anwar tonight and I never have before. I liked him doing something more upbeat. Okay, Anwar fans...I am confused. You liked him up until this week and a lot of you said he wasn't as good tonight. What am I missing? I thought he was boring until tonight and the one night I thought he was good, most of you didn't. My taste must be very different, I guess. ;)

As far as Bo, I still love him, but man that song was so boring for me! Mikalah was bad as always but I liked her better tonight than last week. I missed Scott b/c the weatherman kept interrupting for a tornado warning. I think my favorites tonight were definitely Vonzell and Nikko and Carrie. I really wish I could have seen Scott sing, but since I didn't I can't say what I thought.

I think that Mikalah and Anthony will be the bottom 2 and I am just praying that Mikalah will be the one to go. I really don't want to hear any more song butchering from her.

Was it just me and my husband, or did Paula look and act DRUNK tonight?! We were cracking up, she was all glassy eyed and really acted and sounded loopy!

Carrie was awesome tonight, as was Jessica. Bo was great too, as usual!

Time in a Bottle is definitely a more dull song that what we're used to from Bo but I don't know if it can ever be otherwise or if it even should be. But Jim Croce was such a great one that my standard is awfully high for that song.

As for Paula, it really seemed like she might have been high on something tonight. She didn't really act drunk IMO because she spoke clearly. But even her eyes seemed glassy. I thought at first that she was teary eyed. :confused3

No argument here. I thought Bo was great, I just don't like the song. I like his upbeat songs better.

Yeah, I also noticed that about her eyes. I really think she was stoned. I usually roll my eyes when people say she is on something, but tonight I definitely agree. She was acting way too strange.

I thought last night's show was the best so far. I wish they'd just repeat that show and not make them do the numbers all over again. Maybe they are doing that. I don't think Fox's site is all that clear on how they're handling the voting SNAFU.

I just reread the blurb on the AI site and I guess the performances will be a recast with some new, live material thrown in. Anyway....

Anthony: Not bad, not great. He seems to be stuck with ho hum performances week after week. He does have a nice voice but by this level of the competition, I'm looking for someone who commands the stage. He's not doing that. Score: 3.5

Carrie: Another one with not just a nice voice but a great voice. She just doesn't have enough passion while she sings. Loved the whole 80's look she had tonight though. Score: 4

Scott: Out of all the guys, I think Scott has the purest tone to his singing. Tonight was probably his best performance. Score: 4.5

Bo: All I've got to say is when can I buy his CD?? I had goosebumps while he sang. Fast music, slow music, this guy could sing the Oscar Meyer Weiner song and it would be great! :rotfl: Score: 5+++++

Nikko: While I think his singing was only OK but better than in prior weeks, he does hold your attention. Score: 3.5

Vonzell: She is just so much fun to watch. Not the greatest voice but last night she was pretty much right on. Score: 4

Constantine: Oh dear. Interesting song choice but... no. He'll move on due to his fan base but I thought last night's performance was ICK! Score: 3

Nadia: What is up with her? It's like every other week she's terrible and this was one of those weeks. Last week I gave her a 5+++. And talk about a bad hair day! Score: 2.5

Mikalah: Her voice seems tired. I'm not a fan of her's but actually thought this was one of her better outings. Having said that, it's bye bye tonight. Opps, tomorrow night (if they get the phone numbers right this time!)
Score: 3

Anwar: Zzzzzz! He just doesn't do it for me and tonight was no exception. I gave him bonus credits because he at least ends his songs with flair.
Score: 3.5

Jessica: A tough song to sing and they made her cut it to fit in the time frame. She did an excellent job. I really like her voice a lot! Score: 4.5

Who I want to be gone tomorrow night: Mikalah
Who I think will be gone tomorrow night: Mikalah
